Our waitress was incredibly sweet, helpful, and attentive throughout our entire visit. She helped us decide between dishes and made sure we had everything we needed. I had been recommended this restaurant over and over again, and I finally decided to stop by. One piece of advice for anyone who doesn't like much pink in their steak: be sure to specify exactly how you want it cooked. I ordered mine medium well, but it came out closer to medium with quite a bit of pink. My sister-in-law ordered hers medium, and it was served more like medium rare. I love the decor all around Cattlemens. The woodcarvings of ranch hands have a fun story of their history you can read about right in the front of the restaurant. We were seated in a booth and were greeted by our server who was so nice and friendly. He brought out fresh hot sourdough bread with cold butter that was ready to melt right in! He also brought out a big ol' salad for us to share with each of us getting a lil' gravy boat of a salad dressing of our choosing. When our entrees came out, a cute bucket o' ranch beans came with them. I love all the shareable family style elements to the meal. The hubs and I shared the Porterhouse with a baked potato with all the toppings. It was cooked medium rare so it was perfectly tender and juicy. Unfortunately, this has been a consistently bad experience over multiple visits in the past six months, and after giving it several chances, we won't be returning. On one visit, we made reservations, yet our table was not ready when we arrived. The restaurant was not busy, and there were empty booths available, many of which were dirty. We still waited about 10 minutes to be seated, which made no sense given the circumstances. Once seated, it took over 10 minutes for a server to even greet us, followed by another 10 minutes just to be offered drinks. After ordering water, we waited another 12 minutes for it to arrive -- and then the server disappeared again. The overall attitude from the staff was uncomfortable. Everyone seemed miserable and inconvenienced by basic requests, including simply placing our order. On the occasions we were there the "manager in black long steeved shirt was there but at the bar the entire time" on another occasion he was there and never once came to greete us just seemingly wandering around When our food finally arrived, both sides were wrong and cold. We never received the bread or the beans that come standard, and when we asked about them, the server appeared annoyed. We had ordered the couples dinner, yet multiple components were missing. The condition of the food was unacceptable: The baked potato looked old and unappetizing, as if it had been sitting for days on all occations ordered. The mashed potatoes were watery, soupy/starchy, honestly again cold and disgusting. Between the poor service, lack of attention, missing items, cold food, and overall unpleasant atmosphere, this experience did not match the price point or reputation of a steakhouse. We wanted to enjoy it, but after repeated disappointments, it's clear this location needs serious improvement all the way around. read more

They are a proud server of Harris Ranch Meat and let me tell you, I grew up eating Harris Ranch beef from a local butcher in Bakersfield and it's the best meat I have ever had till this day.
