The dog was walking through the dining area as the owner was bagging up items. Then the dog went behind the counter where drinks and food are served to customers at the bar. Who knows where else the dog goes during off hours if allowed in during business? We cancelled our order and left. We went to another restaurant in town and mentioned this to the owner there and they agreed it was wrong. And also proceeded to tell us rules even concerning service dogs in a restaurant. ( Which obviously is a different situation and they don't roam dining areas). This is California Health Code Violation. Needless to say we won't be eating here again. The Code: H&SC § 114259.5 prohibits live animals inside, citing potential contamination of food, equipment, and utensils.

Patrons sat there and stared at each other for the most part with slow service. We knew it was Valentine's Day and had expected to wait, but to be fair to us, only half of the restaurant was filled. A dark haired woman walked by around 6:45 said she was going to come take our order, then we never saw her in the dining room or bar again. We never saw anyone's order being taken while we were there. Nobody ever came by. No bread. No drinks. Nothing. Around 7:10, we left and there was a line out the door, waiting to be seated. Unfortunately, the service was so bad, I don't think I could give this place a chance again.

We were greeted by the amazing bartender, Neil. He made us feel welcomed, and had a great sense of humor. He gave us an introduction to the speak easy, went over the menu and then brought us complimentary afogatos. I don't drink alcohol much, and my friend doesn't drink at all, lol so he made them virgin. They had amazing mocktails on the menu, they use imitation liquor so it doesn't just taste like juice. We ordered mushroom tapenade, it was good. We had so much fun catching up and being in such a beautiful place. Neil definitely made the night fun for us. More people showed up later in the night. I highly recommend checking them out and if you don't like crowds, go during the week. If you're lucky Neil will let you sit on his lap just ask him.

The drink starts as rosé color, as the ice ball melts it turns dark pink/red color. The flavor goes from a floral note to a sweeter tasting cocktail. Truly a work of art! Once you arrive to the front of the hotel, they have parking on the left side of the building across the street which is specifically reserved for the Elderwood. It's not even a minute walk to the hotel. Once inside the concierge was very friendly and explained how to get there. You take the elevator up to the restaurant. The hotel itself was very charming, like going back in time but in style. The main elevator doesn't take you up straight to the restaurant, you can choose to walk up the stairs or take another elevator that's located on the right side. It's just 2 more floors up. We walked up the stairs and I'm glad we did, we were able to see the waiting area with some older pictures of the hotel. As well as the entrance into the restaurant. The servers were friendly and kindly let us know that we would be next to be seated. We chose to seat outside, they had small table heaters on the sides and we chose a table right next to the view. The view was fantastic.!! I was glad that our reservation was bright and early, we were able to watch the sunrise and have a couple of mimosas. The food; was delicious.!! Not only looked nice but was also very tasty. The mimosas were also fantastic. We got the mimosa flight, which came with 3 mimosas. Highly recommend.!
