Awesome prime rib. Loved going back to being a kid and having it the same. Food greaT, service top notch, atmosphere terrific. Can beat it and reasonable price to boot. read more

If I could give zero stars on this Visit I would. The prime rib appeared to be boiled but the waiter reassured us it was cooked medium rare cut into it it was dark purple obviously rare and have absolutely no seasoning on it every time we come here there's a crust of seasoning on the prime rib and it does not look boiled the server experience was almost as bad as it took 10 minutes for someone to come ask us for a water or anything. After as many times we've been there and all the great experience was had, this absolutely horrendous experience will keep us from ever coming back read more

This is not my first time here nor my last. My dad and his parents used to come and eat here when he was a kid. Now he brings us and we love it! If you're looking for some awesome steaks, full of flavor, cut and cooked to perfection. Then Cattelmen's is that place! The food here is jam packed with flavor, the staff is great and nothing beats that mid western vibe. Katie or Katy helped us tonight. She was super attentive, friendly and quick on getting our food to our table asap. Thanks Katie or Katy we'll be back and see ya soon! read more

I ordered a New York steak and Shrimp with mashed potatoes. I wanted a rare because they cooked the steak medium well. The steak itself is tender for New York steak and I like shrimp as well. The steak is about 14 oz and the portion is big enough for me. Before entrées they do serve salad and bread. The salad is standard taste about the same with other steak house chain. Their sourdough bread serve fresh and warm, and it is soft too. Overall I only pay for $30 after tax and tip I am satisfied what I received from what I paid for. Only problem to me the steak is medium well as I order rare and expected a medium rare. Like a lot of steak house, you should order rare if you want medium rare or medium rare if you want medium. read more

Delicious! I was very impressed with the quality of food and the portions size. Come hungry and I mean HUNGRY. There is no such thing as a little meal here or if there is none of those hit our table! Pro's: Food was cooked perfectly. If you like your steak Med-Rare thats exactly how's it going to come to you. I was thrilled, most places always overcook Med-Rare. I think the best deal is the 2 for $60 dinner option. You get one appetizer to share, each person gets a salad or soup, separate entree's with your own side then to top it all off you get two desserts! Talk about taking home leftovers. If you have a sweet tooth the chocolate cake is BOMB. Have a glass of milk handy if you take this dish home. Con's: This place was packed out on a Saturday - call for reservations if you plan on going during the "weekend" hours because I don't think this is somewhere where you can just walk in and get seated within an hour. We had a reservation for 7pm but didn't actually get sat at our table until about 7:30-7:40 which was a little irritating but there was probably 7 groups of 6 or more in the restaurant not including our group of 9. Overall, I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu. read more

Not sure why this place was busy, can only think it is because it's the only steak house in town. DO NOT order the chicken or Jumbo shrimp. Very disappointed. Our chicken was burnt and dry. The waitress asked if I wanted a new plate and brought me a new one. A little better but not much. Spend the extra gas and go to Fresno for a better experience. read more

After a long drive from vegas we decided to stop here for a quick dinner. Sat in a bar and there was some commosions going, apparently one of the customers were drunk and so emotional the manager DAVID RUSSELL was so polite and kind and dealt the situation professionaly. We left as soon as we finished our meal and i left my debit card called them and the manager mail it to me. Thanks david for being the best read more

I ordered the 14oz new york steak, it was ok. It was big thick and juicy, however it just tasted like flavor was missing. Not sure how to describe it. We had to ask twice for my wifes strawberry lemonade. The utensils were dirty. The staff was friendly, not too long of a wait even on valentines day. Cattlemens is ok. read more

Hands down this is the best take house you can go to and no matter if it's in Selma or in Sacramento, you get the exact same steak at the exact same price. it's where You can get a 20th ounce T bone for 2495 that's unheard of in some of these places. This is been our go to place since 1967 read more

Food was pretty good but the service was horrible, literally waiting 27 mins for our 2 waters with lemon. The restaurant was very hot. Will not be back :( read more

Definitely the place to go for great steak, especially if you're a picky eater like me! The kitchen manager (Jose Marquez) made sure to come out and ask me exactly how I wanted my filet mignon/shrimp cooked (currently on the Keto diet). He also made the birthday experience for my friend unforgettable! So impressed by his willingness to put the customer first! Great food, great service! Can't wait to come back! Service was good. Environment was warm and welcoming. Food was garbage. Steak was bland, dry, and covered in fat and silver skin. Rice was foul. Shrimp was over cooked. Overpriced and overrated. read more

EXTREMELY PATHETIC FOOD!!!! Took my family here for my son in law's B'day. My daughter and her husband ordered the Anniversary special - steak and lobster. Steaks were COMPLETELY RAW and lobsters were so over cooked it was like chewing gum! My wife, my our other daughter and my steak were ALSO COMPLETELY RAW. We sent ALL the steaks back. When they came back they were still raw. These cooks, they DO NOT DESERVE THE TITLE OF CHEFS, have no business whatsoever being in the kitchen. They would be better off being dishwashers. What the heck were they doing? Cooking FROZEN steaks? What's wrong with the managers anyway. Surly they must have had enough complaints by now. This was a complete waste of food, time and gas driving from Fresno!!!! read more

I suppose for a small town this may be an alright spot so I am giving it 2 stars but in any large town this would be out of business. Food quality is not good and ambiance is out of date. read more

Extremely bland chicken with no lemon flavor. What so ever it was also really dry.The mashed potatoes were good with a decent amount of flavor. Paid 22 bucks should be more in the range of 15 dollars. we had to wait over 2 hours. I would have rather ate at McDonald's.service was also ok others in my party did not receive refills and got a empty bottle of ketchup. This was the first and last time I eat at cattleman's restaurant after living in selma for 26yrs. Would never recommend. read more

My grandsons graduation dinner was held at Cattlemens. The food was excellent, every single thing we had from drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert was delicious. Serving 15 people isn't an easy task, but our waiter, Michael, handled it like a champ. He never missed a beat and was patient and professional with any special requests, wants and needs. We go out to dinner often with a large party and he was by far the best waiter we've encountered in a very long time. With that being said, any staff we dealt with was also very pleasant and helpful. We'll definitely go back soon! read more

I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with grilled pineapple. There was no pineapple on it, I informed him, he brought me a quarter slice of fresh cold pineapple, not grilled. The chicken was so overcooked and dry. We had 14 people in our party, everyone had an issue with their order. We gave up on trying to get things right. Then we all had separate tabs and every tab was wrong. After 3 times of the waiter trying to fix it, we gave up as well. Very frustrating. What a mess for a birthday dinner. read more

A lot of people i know say this place is really good. So i went there for the first time and i thought it was ok. I order a Filet Mignon and i didn't expect for it to be charbroiled. I'm not a fan of that. But i will say the tender. The flavor was not there for me. read more

During our whole dinner, we felt neglected from beginning till end! Though staff was friendly, it just seemed like they were overwhelmed and whatever system they have going is not working. Drinks were wrong, salad dressing choices was wrong, we never got water after asking several times. There was lipstick on one of our shot glass of henny. The hostess was made aware and brought us a new shot glass with liquor that was definitely not Hennessy. We left it untouched. Steaks were overcooked and underwhelming , kids meal orders were wrong, soup and appetizers came 15 minutes after the entrees. We got water finally towards the end of our meal. The tab was also divided incorrectly and we just told the waiter to make it one because we were pretty much done and didn't want to stick around any longer to see what else can go wrong. read more

Something really bad has taken over this place. Our group of 11 received only 8 pieces of bread, and two small bowls of salad. Why so cheap? We had to ask several times for more, along with other items like sour cream, chives, butter, etc. The meal itself was ok, though mostly overpriced, like the salmon, and shrimp. The filet was tough as a shoe!!! I think we will go elsewhere. It is a shame as we are locals, and would like to patronize them. read more

The food was good but the service was not. We went there last night to celebrate my husbands birthday. I called ahead of time to see if they did the birthday thing and sung happy birthday. The lady in the phone said they did, when I got to the restaurant I asked the waitress before my husband sat down and she said they did. When it was time to leave the waitress asked if we wanted desert and we ordered two cheese cakes, but she seem to forget about the birthday. I wanted it to be a surprise but I had to blow the surprise and ask her about it. Low and behold when she brought the deserts, nothing! I could have went somewhere else. We aren't really mad about not the whole happy Birthday thing but she could have been honest. She also seemed very annoyed when we asked questions. I think she had a large party in her area but still... read more

We've been driving by this restaurant for many years and we finally decided to stop by. We were very happy with the food and the service. So an update to my review. As you can see the manager asked me to respond in an email or wanted to call. I responded with an email and haven't heard a word since. This restaurant in Selma has just ruined it for the rest. I will not step foot into another Cattleman's restaurant. Wish I could zero stars but have to give at least one. Definitely not following Social Distancing rules. They are using a large tent, open on end end only. We went for our anniversary dinner and saw that the tent was crowded heaver than their inside seating. The tables were so close that people were back to back. They seated us in the back corner, surrounded by people with no open air ventilation. We held our breathes and left. They used to be a regular spot for us, not during these times though. read more

Wow! First off the food was great, however the rest was an experience is like a bad dream I want to forget. When I ordered my food my waiter asked if I wanted my steak with mushrooms and I said sure. When he asked which side I would like I asked what there was. He told me a list of options and I chose the sweet potato, which he told me was a side. This was also the case for most of my party guests. When I was given the check however all of this stuff was extra.. ABOUT 40 DOLLARS EXTRA. He never told me any of this stuff was an upcharge and threw it out there like free candy. What started as a fun night ended with a thud. Unbelievable. read more
