Just a couple blocks from Budweiser's brewery, this is A "local" establishment thats been serving their clientele for years! No frills atmosphere, but very friendly service and good pours ... fun spot to hang out with friends early or late. They open at 9:30a, but don't count on a hot breakfast here; food is limited to nuts, chips and bag snacks plus a frozen pizza if you need some real substance. But undoubtedly one of the coldest beer served! Limited TV's, but there is 1 for catching some local games. Overall, solid 4.0 rated bar for attentive service, cold drinks and fair prices! And some great beads if you need any for Mardi Gras or party celebrations. You may not ever know this was here unless you're introduced by a local customer, but gotta love the friendly atmosphere and low drama establishment for a drink or few, Cheers, enjoy!!!

Cat's Meow is the quintessential Soulard neighborhood bar. It is the type of place that feels like authentically "townie." But in a good way! The charm of it's somewhat *ahem* shabby chic (?) appearance is so much a part of the experience that it is hard to not fall in love with this watering hole. Have you ever craved Natty Light on draught? No? Well you can get it at Cat's Meow. That should really set the scene on the type of experience you're in for when you walk through their doors. The beers are cheap. The mixed drinks are strong. You're not heading to Cat's Meow to savor a craft cocktail. Most weekend you can find multiple bar-cycles parked out front. It is this party atmosphere that makes this bar so special though! My personal favorite feature of Cat's Meow, is the wall of beads for sale. Much like you'd see vendors hocking during mardi gras, they have every specialized bead strand you could think of, and many that you probably don't WANT to think of. However, it is so much fun to see that Cat's Meow is just invested in the spirit of the Soulard neighborhood!

Have to update my review because I claimed Cat's never updated anything. They actually took the time afforded by the covid closures to do a lot of rehab. New floors, new tables, fresh bar. Cat's Meow is a legit dive and the process are still pretty darn good. Good job, Cat's.

Cheap, friendly dive bar in Soulard. Heavy pours, lots of locals, bar pizza available. Non-smoking inside.

The staff were incredibly welcoming, which for me is always the biggest indicator of whether I'll enjoy a place. I arrived during their daily Happy Hour (4-6 PM) and ordered the crab dip with homemade crackers, while my friend tried one of their cocktails. Everything tasted delicious, and the staff remained very attentive throughout our visit. I was also impressed by the cleanliness and the interior design. I noticed a beautiful mural on the wall and later learned it is a portrait of one of the owner's mothers, how sweet is that? If you're thinking about stopping by this new downtown spot, don't hesitate! My only feedback is that the entrance can be a little difficult to find as the signage wasn't very visible to me, but that's it. Highly recommend!

The drinks are on the pricier side, but they're well-curated, beautifully crafted, and the presentation is on point. I haven't tried the food yet, though I've heard good things. It does seem like the menu is limited, and availability can be hit or miss. I was told they were out of certain plates and that they'd already sold the last of some items for the day. So I'm still figuring out how the food service works and how often everything is available. Overall, I'd come back to keep exploring and hopefully find a few favorites.

We arrived a little after 11 and found a space in the back parking lot. The lot is convenient as it's pretty well-lit and is diagonal from the CF. We entered through the back where the deck is and walked right in. Upon first glance, you'll notice the hanging lights above the entrance and then after a few feet, the bar is immediately to the right. The tables are all along the left side as to make a walkway for the bar (super convenient). Due it being their anniversary, it was a bit crowded but not too bad where you couldn't get a drink or walk through. My usual go-to is a flavored vodka (three olives grape) and sprite. While they had a plethora of spirits, sadly this wasn't one of them. They had other flavored vodkas but I opted to get a simple Cosmo while my friend got a makers and coke. The Cosmo was just what I needed and might I add, well made! After we got our drinks, we did a quick walk through of the other side called The Oddities (coming soon), as well as the upstairs that overlooks the entire place. The stairs are steep, so it would behoove you to hold on to the railing. While I love trying new places, I was a bit apprehensive because I thought I'd stick out like a sore thumb. Turns out, everyone was friendly, the drinks are great, and the music wasn't bad! They had different acts going on for this particular evening (I'm not sure if this is the norm), but I know my friend is a regular on Tuesday's for karaoke. I do intend to come back and try out some more drinks and food and check out the other place once it officially opens.

We arrived right on time for our reservation, stood for quite a few minutes in a half-empty house before being seated, then waited a very long time between visits from our apparently over-stretched waitstaff. The first cocktail I chose wasn't available; nor was the first entree. I settled on the "red wine flight", and it arrived in three glasses. The server recited their names, but I didn't catch them. Food was middle of the road. A smoked sirloin sandwich was tasty, though rather well-done. And the order of "salmon cakes", which the menu says is made of "smoked salmon, roast corn, tomato, cucumber, creme fraiche, and capers" was in fact just one cake (not cakes!), smaller than a hockey puck (about 1/2" thick max) and seemed to be made of canned fish, not the bright orange of smoked salmon. It was accompanied by five thin slices of cucumber and three or four halved grape tomatoes. No corn, no capers. It was so boring, and an overpriced disappointment at $23. If this Bridge is actually closing and focusing on the event space, they've gone out with a whimper. And if they're actually continuing service, I hope they get the food a little closer to the menu descriptions. Our drinks and water glasses were empty for long stretches. Our server was very pleasant and polite, but must've had way too much to do.
