I bought a rebuilt 2023 Jetta GLI from Auto Choice LLC. I knew it had been in a prior collision,…read morebut "as-is" shouldn't cover a car sold with a missing suspension part and damaged airbag wiring. After driving it home, I noticed the horn didn't work and the steering felt off, so I took it to Kelly VW. They told me over the phone the car wasn't safe to drive off their lot in that condition. Their work order lists damaged wiring in the steering column, a damaged airbag and combination switch, and a missing right front sway bar link. The steering wheel was off-center too. When I messaged George, he told me his mechanic "missed installing" the sway bar link, then mailed me a part from RockAuto so I could install it myself. I'd rather have a genuine VW part on the car, so I bought the OEM link from VW and paid for it myself. The picture attached is the end of the wire harness from the steering column, as found by Kelly VW. Before pickup, I was told by text that the control arm would be replaced and the car aligned, and later that everything had been replaced. The steering wheel was still off-center when I drove away, and Kelly VW recommended an alignment check. I also contacted the Maryland State Police about the salvage inspection and am following up with them. I paid $2,018.78 out of pocket at Kelly VW to replace the airbag, wiring harness, and combination switch. George replied on October 6th suggesting I bring the car back to their shop (I live in Northeastern Pennsylvania) or trade it in. After I sent him the dealer invoice and photos, I stopped hearing back, and my follow-up emails have gone unanswered. If you buy from here, don't just take their word that the rebuild was done right. Have an independent mechanic put the car on a lift and check every suspension part and wire harness before you hand over any money.

I saw a car online I was interested in and I called the dealership. I was unable to get there on the day I called as I had the flu and we were juggling one car. I asked if the car could please be held until Thursday. The man on the phone said there were actually two of them on the lot and sure they could do that. I got a call Thursday around noon that the one vehicle left that I was coming to test drive was being sent to the Lexington Park site and she "goofed up" as she did not do something within the computer to keep the car there. There was a similar vehicle at the Germantown location that costs a bit more. I told her I was willing to look at and test drive that one if the price was negotiable for this mess she had just put me through. She retrieved the car and I went there to test drive it. The car's exterior was FILTHY. The black car was almost yellow. We drove it and it seemed fine. We returned and we noticed a lot of small nicks in the paint. We pointed them out to her and said due to the car's filth we can't tell if it's dirt or paint chips. She took it to the car wash and came back and there were chips EVERYWHERE. I said "Well, how much are willing to take off the price?" She said, no, this is a price tag dealership. We don't do that. So, despite what she said on the phone, they were going to do NOTHING. Then, she had the NERVE to text me the next day and said they would not change the price, but would "try to do that best they can" to clean up the paint job. If you are going to consider this place, show up and look at the cars and make sure they are clean as they may be hiding damage.

I shopped around a little bit and found that SMH worked with me and had a suitable selection. The sales people aren't pushy and they try to help you find the best financing option without running your credit 6 times. [After signing my paperwork they called to let me know they found a better rate and even updated for me!] I test drove a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and as part of our negotiation we requested the breaks needed to be done. [They passed inspection but we still wanted to make sure they were fresh.] They took care of it quickly and painlessly. They are a smaller dealership but you get a lot more in lines of customer service from the smaller guys. I am happy to report that my car came with a great warranty, I left that day with keys and we haven't had any issues with it! They were upfront, helpful and I'm a happy customer. I don't usually leave reviews but since my experience here was so smooth and easy I felt I had to…read morethis time. My lease was just about up (1 month left) on my Range Rover Evoque and rather than turn it in and break even I figured why not see if I had a little equity in it since I was so far under the allotted mileage. So my first stop was CarMax in Frederick, MD - top notch place and very professional but they offered me right at what the lease payoff was. I was pretty bummed. On my way back to the interstate for a defeated drive back to my home in WV I passed guy holding a Cash Money Cars sign. I said what the heck and stopped and asked for directions there, conveniently a few minutes from CarMax. There I met Tony, a very easy going guy and senior buyer who explained the process start to finish with no pressure and no BS. He gave me an offer within 20 minutes for more than $2000 over the CarMax offer. I told him I'd consider it and sat on the offer for about a week. I was just about to go ahead and trade my Evoque towards my new car but then Tony called and followed up and went through the process one more time - he said we could have it done in under 40 minutes. So I went there the past Friday, sat down and did the paperwork, and walked away with a nice check for my leased vehicle - all in under 40 minutes. And just an FYI, it's very rare to walk away TO THE GOOD on any leased vehicle, you are usually lucky if you just break even. I admit I was skeptical at first but without a doubt I would do business with Cash Money Cars and Tony again. Do yourself a favor and skip CarMax and go straight to these guys.
