If I could give zero stars, I would. We spoke with John at Triangle Motors about replacing the timing be,t on our van. We had a new van ordered and we're planning on a trade in with the dealer. John told us that he wanted to buy the van from us and would add the cost of the repair to the price that he gave us to buy the van. We had the timing belt replaced at Triangle and paid for it. This morning, John reneged on our verbal agreement. Obviously his word means nothing. We will never deal with Triangle again and will share our experience with other family members who currently deal there. read more

I have rented from Triangle Motors a couple of times. Jimmy Lee and Tom Harrigan were the rental agents I dealt with. Everything was tops. The guys were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They made suggestions that were good. And the cars were clean and very well maintained. Triangle Motors charges very fair rental prices. One way I think they are able to do this is by restricting the number of miles you can drive. If you are looking for a rental car to drive to the Grand Canyon and back in less than a week, you probably won't be satisfied here. But if you need a reliable, clean car to drive around town at a very reasonable price, this is the place for you. One last thing. Businesses used to advertise that the customer is always right. The guys at Triangle Motors make you feel that way. read more

I scheduled an oil change with them and the lady verified it was for Monday at 1pm. So I go there on that date just for them to be closed. This is such a pathetic company. How do you fail to recognize that the store was closed and not contact me about it. I drove from Gettysburg. Needless to say I will not go back. read more

Note: This review is for their rental department. I cannot speak to their sales or service department. About a week and a half ago, my car's engine started acting up - highly unanticipated because the car was less than a year old. I took my car to the nearest Hyundai dealership in Frederick (my car was a Hyundai Kona) to get looked at and serviced. They ultimately told me that the engine would need to be replaced - a 3-4 week job - and that they did not have a loaner car available. After a few stressful days of my fiancé driving me to and from work, a coworker recommended Triangle Motors for a rental. The gentleman at Triangle Motors was nice, and he was able to get me a rental car relatively quickly. Since I wasn't getting my car serviced with them, the going rate was about $20/day and 100 free miles each day: very reasonable, and within reimbursable limits by Hyundai's standards. They were also able to give me flexible rental periods given the fact that I did not know when a loaner would be made available by the dealership. Furthermore, when it came time to drop off the rental and pick up the loaner, they even had one of their guys drive me to the dealership for convenience! Definitely will return here if I ever need another rental for day-to-day use! read more

I don't write reviews. This is my first one. I'm writing this one because not only have I trusted my ancient Honda to Triangle for over a decade, but recently, they went so way over the top for me. First, just in general, and the reason I keep going back (besides that they specialize in my kind of vehicle) - they don't try to upsell me on work that doesn't need to be done. This includes repair instead of replace when that is possible. It also includes not suggesting that something needs to be replaced just because it is old. That's the point of going to Triangle - they specialize in old Hondas and keeping them on the road. My whole car is old; it is not surprising that part X has rust. The question that matters is does it work, well, and safely? Next - I recently had a part replaced. It failed; they replaced it under manufacturer warranty with another. It failed. It seemed unwise to gamble that third time would be the time I got a good part, especially as warranty covered three replacements. Triangle suggested, and I agreed, to replace with a Honda part. It is now fine. Now, all this time, Triangle was extremely patient and generous with their time and resources, which included having to have a loaner car for an extensive time, and talking me off of a cliff. They really went above and beyond. And that is why I am writing this review. They are not convenient to me, very much the opposite. I will keep going way out of my way to get to them, because of their deep knowledge of these old cars, and their customer service, which is without parallel. read more

This review is for their rental service: My car broke down on I-270 on a Saturday about 4 p.m., and after calling around at different places, the folks at Triangle Motors were the only ones to answer their phone. They gave us all the info we needed and we were able to get to their lot in time to rent a car. We needed the vehicle a day longer than we thought while the car was being checked out at a local garage, and they graciously accommodated us. Highly recommend. read more

We needed to rent a second car on a month to month basis until we could save enough money to buy a new car. Before coming across Triangle Motors we were renting from another National Rental agency. The intermediate size car was costing us over $950 per month. When I stopped in, I first spoke to Jim. I told him my situation and he immediately showed me some options. We ended up in an SUV for under $450 per month. Yes, it was an older model and not perfect. However, it saved us over $500 per month plus we were in an SUV. Routine maintenance and any issues were promptly addressed by Jim, Tom and the maintenance team. I highly recommend and without reservation, you go see Tom or Jim if you are in need of a long term vehicle rental. You will save hundreds of dollars per month. Tom, who is the rental manager was also very flexible about my payment options. I am thankful that I came across Triangle at a time in our life when we needed a vehicle and a friendly, professional team to serve our need. I can't say enough positive things about this place! On a family road trip (from OHIO to MD) our Honda Odyssey began having serious mechanical problems and was not shifting well. On a family recommendation we took the van to Triangle. We were able to leave our van there to be worked on, as well as rent a van for a VERY reasonable price so that we could continue on our trip. They were kind and efficient and we were back on the road in under 30 mins! At every point in the repair process the mechanic at Triangle communicated with us about cost and repair options. They are clearly experts and care for their customers; and now our van is running better than it has in over a year. We come to the Frederick MD area to see family and we will definitely be bringing the van back for periodic servicing-- they are that good. If you have a Honda, go there. read more

I would give 1 star however the people working there were nice. Left my car to have service done. Asked for tires rotated did not happen. Asked for lights to be fixed on dash, was told that they were working, however I turn lights on and they are still burned out. Overall paid a significant amount and they did NOT do what they said. Was told that I could get a rental car when this work was being done, got a 98 honda with 298,000 miles on it. Told not to go more than 150 miles. Beware! I have been a regular customer of Triangle motors since at least 2013. I can honestly say they provide great service and are honest. They will take good care of your Honda and keep it running well into 200,000 miles or more. The facility is nice and the $15 per day rental option is very convenient. They aren't new cars like from the major rental companies but for a day to get you around they are perfect. Triangle is less expensive than the dealer but have the same level of experience and better service. I very highly recommend them on a regular basis. read more

I really wanted to like this company but when I picked up my rental it was really old, dirty, and had more than 305,000 miles on it. They even boasted that accomplishment with stickers with 300,000 mile club. That's good if you're running it into the ground because you're too cheap to buy something else but for a rental? Smelled smokey inside, rattled my false teeth out - well, I didn't have false teeth until I rode in this thing. It rattled them completely out. But when you need transporation and need it now, Jimmy and company are there for you. Could have/should have taken it back but, again, we needed the car. Not sure about the previous renter's experience but they've gone down hill in those 2.5 years. read more

The selection of cars are limited to mostly very high milage, dents, poor condition interiors, and you will need to spend way too much on repairs in the long run! The owners son, John, is a jerk...they offer a 12/12 warranty on some of their junkers, but God forbid you need a repair net warranty . ... John will deny almost every repair, and actually made me pay for breaks on a Honda Pilot the I had only put 10Ķ on and was still under warranty ! This same Pilot had a dead battery under warranty , and he insisted that it only had to be Re charged, and refused to replace it! Buyer beware of this dealership.... I know several friends who have had similar horrible stories. I would strongly recommend you look anywhere else, before wasting your money on a high milage clunker from Triangle Motors. read more

We trust Triangle motors. We had used them years ago, but having moved out of state and then moved back to Frederick years later, unfortunately we forgot about them. After too many disappointing experiences with other automotive repair places in Frederick, we had to think of a better alternative. Fortunately we remembered Triangle Motors. Not only have they grown, but their already great service got even better. Phew! Finally we know we are in good hands again with someone we trust. They have done excellent work on my car. The staff always tells me exactly what is going on in simple terms without talking down to me ( I'll be the first to admit I don't know about cars). I never feel pushed into anything and I have leveled with them a few times and told them I needed to save up for that repair work. Each time they have been polite and understanding about it.
