The employees are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, offering the Kohl's credit card at almost every transaction/purchase, yet politely respond when you say "No." The parking lot is well lit and fairly clean. This store always has good stock of sale items and items in stock that are standard, such as house linens, clothing, shoes, accessories, etc.

I found several jackets close to what I wanted, and picked one that's just right. Lots of sizes and colors of blazers. Even bigger selection of shirts, suits, tuxedos, etc. Plenty of accessories too. I ended up with a jacket, socks, and shirt for about half what I would have spent on a jacket at Men's Wearhouse, and since I only wear them once a year or so that's just right. Service was great from several staffers. Prices are great. I scoped the kid's section and was impressed, didn't get to the women's area, did notice plenty of men's casual wear up front.

I can see how at first glance, the store might appear overpriced, so here's the secret: the "regulars" are all on the store's snail mail and email lists, which constantly dish out coupons for 15% to 25% off. There's also discounts for calling ahead for a style appointment, an 5% Black Book discount for customers who've spent more than $300 at WHBM in the past, etc. As for the colors, yeah, the store's main gig is white and black clothing (hence the name). However, WHBM always has one or two "seasonal colors" that help make your wardrobe pop. Over the past few years, I've bought pieces from WHBM that are royal blue, navy blue, bright red, maroon, hot pink, light pink, and a deep jewel-toned orange--not to mention lots of greys, beiges, golds, off-whites, etc. There's also a lot of prints, little details like buttons/zippers, various collar types and cuts of clothing, etc. that keep things interesting. Check out the brand's web site if you think I'm making this up. I usually can't stand stores where sales people wait on you hand and foot, but Dana at the Easton WHBM is one of the best salespeople I've ever worked with. The first time I shopped there, I was in a very grumpy mood. I had a big academic conference coming up, I had struck out at my three favorite stores at the time (J. Crew, Anthropologie, and Ann Taylor), and I went into WHBM as a last resort. I explained all this to Dana, who seemed very nice and was not high-pressure. I decided to give her a shot. She gave me a good lookover, asked me a few questions about my style preferences, then said "Go ahead and pick out anything you like in the store, and we'll get you a fitting room started. I'll pull some pieces for you too." It's a small store, and I was sure that I'd seen and pulled every piece of clothing that might work. But somehow, Dana had pulled 10 or 12 pieces that I hadn't noticed at all--and when I started trying them on, they were adorable. Many of them looked much better on my body than they'd looked on the hanger, and they're not things I would have ever pulled for myself but they really worked. A few pieces didn't look great or were only so-so, and Dana would take note of what wasn't so great and pull another piece that improved on it. She was mindful of my needs, not only my style preferences but things like "I don't dry clean my clothes, ever" and "I'm going to be traveling so this outfit needs to look good coming out of a suitcase." I left with a great outfit for the conference. I now book a style appointment with Dana once every 3-4 months, basically about once a season. I'm not the only huge fan of Dana's work: she often has two, three, even four customers in the fitting rooms at once, yet she never makes me feel neglected or like she's too busy to listen to my reactions. She clearly pulls different clothes for different people; it's not unusual to come out to "the big mirror" and run into another customer who looks over and says "You look great!" and I reply "You look great too!" but I'm also thinking "Wow, that's so cute on her but it would look terrible on me." All of the sales girls are very sweet, and the manager is super nice, but I stick with Dana since she does such a great job. She only works a few days a week, so I call ahead for a style appointment to ensure that I run into her--and because she knows I'm coming, she'll pull 15 or so pieces to get me started. It's a big time saver. A final note: every WHBM store has its own buyer and makes its own choices about which pieces they're going to carry. This means every WHBM store is going to have a slightly different inventory. Whomever does the buying for the Easton store does a great job.

This is one of the larger Lane Bryant stores I've visited. The layout is similar to other stores with Cacique products on the left and other clothing on the right. It allows for easy browsing because you can see the clothes. They aren't crammed onto racks which are practically on top of other racks. The lines were kind of long while checking out but it was handled well. The manager opened up another register, and gave everyone that was in line a special coupon to use on our next purchase for having such a long wait.

I believe this gentleman is probably a manager or something higher since I've seen him there for years. The food is exquisite. I recommend the Warm Asian Chicken Salad or the French Dip. The aioli sauce that comes with the fries is absolutely delicious. I stopped in this morning to return a pet bed my 81-yr-old mother picked out for her cat just the…read moreday prior. Tags still on it, had receipt, bag, etc. My mother said her cat didn't even look at it, so she gave it back to me. Thought nothing of it, and handed it to the cashier to begin the return process. She was a very kind Asian lady, for the record, and completely accepting of the returned product. As she was about to execute it, another female sauntered up, chomping and sucking on candy like a child, and snottily intervened with, "Nope--we cannot accept this. See? There is a stain in it. I can't put that back on the shelf like that! Sorry--nope." She was very rude and snotty about it, and lifting the pet bed's inner cushion to further "investigate", as if we were trying to pull one over on her or something. My view on it is this: 1. I explained to her that I didn't even NOTICE any stain on it. My mother obviously didn't, either (remember, too, she is 81-yrs-old). The pet bed was grabbed quickly by my mom, and when she gave it back to me, I just took the bag and went to the store to return; didn't even look at it. 2. Her cat is SUPER picky about new stuff, especially places to nap, so we both know her cat didn't do ANYTHING in the bed, such as pee in it. 3. Who is to say the stain wasn't there that whole time from an old customer or even an employee being a slob and leaving, say, food or drink on it, in it or next to it? I've seen BS like that in Walmart and such. It HAPPENS. The point is, you *work* with the customer. For the record, I am NOT a believer in that fairy tale "customer is always right". It's a myth. But as a HUMAN first, you try to come to a common ground and work with the other person. My mother and I both had NO idea about some stain deep inside the cat bed! I had a gift card given to me by my best friend for Marshall's, didn't know what to buy with it, as I never shop there to begin with, so I offered for my mother to pick something out. It was a quick, on-the-fly reaction and choice for her. She was thinking of something cute for her cat--that's it. No sneaky, sleazy stuff going on, no fraud or game being played--just two people trying to use up the gift card. Instead of accepting the reality and option that the "stain" might've been there all along and that no product is perfect anyway, the Arabic lady decided to be a snot and shoo me away like a gnat. Very unprofessional, and I will have to remind my best friend never to buy me a gift card for a place I don't regularly shop at anyway, and with some rude employees to boot.
