This store is beautiful after the remodel! With lower prices and a nice customer loyalty program, Meijer is the logical choice over Kroger if you actually want to save money. Meijer brand products are also better quality when compared to Kroger brand. If you have not visited a Meijer lately, try this one where we have never experienced out of stocks while we have experienced friendly employees. read more

Apparently, pet dogs are allowed in the store. A woman was holding a dog that was squirming in her arms and looking as if it were biting her or attempting to, and she was telling it not to and fighting to hold it still while someone else with her was checking out at the self-scan registers. was threatened today by another customer in Meijer, a male customer around 45 to 50 years old came up to me while I was shopping and made a comment toward me, thinking he was joking I laughed because I did not know this man, he proceeded to tell me (28f) he was going to "punch me in my face". and then walked away from his cart and said he was going to assault both me and my boyfriend, calling me a bitch and saying "do something" over and over again. I pulled my boyfriend away and we went to the front to let someone know. absolutely nothing was done, they stood and let him check out and watched him leave the store. no one asked his name, no one trespassed him, and no one got his license plate information. when I asked what was being done the man that was supposed to come handle the situation raised his voice at me saying "what did you want me to do tackle the guy? i asked him if he had a problem and he said no" I was told to file my own police report, even though I had no name or information on the gentleman. I returned my groceries and as I was leaving the man pulled his jeep right up to me and said "HA HA HA" because meijer did absolutely nothing to him and allowed him to get away with threatening their customers. this was the @meijer on Hilliard Rome Rd in Columbus OH. I will never shop at any of your stores again. they told me the policy was they can't do anything until he physically put his hands on me which is ridiculous. I advise no one shops with a company that doesn't protect their customers especially when a man is threatening a woman with violence. read more

A large, clean, and well-stocked Meijer location. Stopped here on a mid-week afternoon recently and had a very pleasant experience. We were able to purchase everything from our shopping list plus more! From food (ranging from produce through boxed items) through clothing and even makeup, we easily located everything and pricing was excellent with the mperks program. Browsing the store was a joy too. From automotive supplies and sporting equipment through toiletries the selection of brands and goods was definitely impressive. The employees we encountered were helpful. When it came time to checkout, we skipped self-checkout because we exceeded the 12 item limit. There was only one cashier open--as is the case with many grocery stores these days--but the line moved quickly and she was friendly. read more

Prices were just OK. If it's not on sale here don't buy it. The cashier was unfriendly didn't greet us. We had to greet her. Then some slow adult as we're walking out of the store demanded to see inside of a trashcan we bought. Our first trip to Meyer was a bust even though we spent a couple hundred dollars rest assured we won't be back ever again because this place just wasn't good. Yeah, the bag person also didn't know how to bag items and put heavy items on top of our bread. It just was a clown circus and we will never be back. Been shopping at Meijer for a couple of decades now but I have to tell you, they have changed for the worse. During COVID they changed their hours, then they started downsizing most of their departments. It's not really considered a department store to me anymore, it's more like a grocery store with clothes, not to mention that they really seem to have issues keeping their shelves fully stocked. Tonight I found out that they changed the hours at their gas station to 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. I have always done my grocery shopping and filled up my vehicle after I get out of work at 11:30 pm. In my opinion, Meijer is a great grocery store. Always well lit and clean and probably the best produce department. I did find some bath tissue although the picture tells the story. In the wake of corona virus news, people are buying toilet paper. I wandered around anyway to see the nice displays and variety this store offers. There is a very good reason I have shopped at Meijer only for most of my groceries. It is the people who work there. I have never found one who didn't go out of their way to answer my question or look in the back if the shelf was empty even when it is not their department. Good example of that is what Ashlee in the bakery did for me today. I love the St. Pierre brioche thick sliced bread. Lasts for weeks and makes a mean peanut butter sandwich. None on display, so I asked the lady behind the cake counter. She gladly stopped icing something and went back to look. When she didn't find any, she came back out with a hold slip so a loaf would be held for me next Friday. Until Ashlee, the lady icing cakes, told me that you could do that I didn't know it was possible. Prices are great, but customer service is what makes Meijer's a cut above others. I also like how the company treats its employees. These 2 reasons is why I NEVER shop at that W place. read more

I like Meijer for its convenient hours and most importantly because of the low prices. It certainly has some of the cheapest stuff. This earns it two stars. It also means it gets crowded and they run out of almost everything. This makes it really annoying to shop here. I really like to save, but really hate having to come here. It's so messy in the clothes area and the food shelves always seem empty. The service is abysmal at this location. It seems there are many employees but there are none to help you. They seem to hate their jobs and they should. It would suck to be here. They are constantly out of many sales items. I hate never being able to find everything we came in for at Meijer. It's totally pointless to have sales if they don't have the stuff on sale. The service at Aldi or Save-A-Lot has been better than here, and they also have cheap prices so go there. read more

First visit to this store. I spent 161$ only to have their self check out associate accuse me of stealing a .79¢ clearance item three times, loudly and without apologies. Including her final statement of have a great day and don't steal anything on your way out. All while holding a receipt for 161$ of products that had been paid for and make her store profitable. Avoid this location at all costs. They do not respect their customers and apparently their employees either if this was the way this young lady is permitted to behave publicly. I would recommend going down the street to any other establishment, literally any other one. Walmart is right there. read more

Meijer is my favorite grocery store. I have never been a large fan of competing store but Meijer is always stocked with everything I need and I find it the easiest to navigate. I appreciate that all locations have large pet sections, beauty sections, and home sections, whereas most other stores only have one aisle for those categories if that. read more

It never fails that when I go in to get the sale items, they never have them on the shelf. Ok, I understand they want me to buy other things other than the sale items, but who are they to tell me that I cant buy just the sale items? Anywho ... every time I go into Meijer, I get a funny feeling about the place. You're usually greeted by an older person when you walk into the store, but there's just something about this store that makes me feel uneasy. Plus it always seems that you have to walk all the way to the back of the store to get what you need. Its either that or you cant find what you're looking for. (Give me credit here, I worked in the grocery biz for almost 7 years. RIP Big Bear) But when we do go in there, the hubby and I normally go in for some Smirnoff and/or Mike's Hard Lime. Thats it. I'm fairly new here and I've been looking for a go to place since there are no Super Target stores here, which I'm still very upset about!! So here's the good, the bad, and the ugly. Good: MPerks I can get all I need in one trip Advertised prices are usually decent Price match to advertised prices within 10 days of purchase (not including mperks) Some higher end brands available in store Good clearance items I've always has nice cashiers Bad: Does not price match competitors ads Dairy products, snack items, and a few other groups seem a little high in price Produce has been far from fresh almost every time I've been been there Ugly: On all but two trips I've waited in line for an excessive amount of time. Last time I almost left, and that says a lot bc I'm pretty patient when it comes to checking out. Overall it's still ok in my book, but hasn't earned the right to be my go to shop. read more

At first glance I thought it looks just like Walmart. But after looking around I thought this place is better then Walmart! The products they sold is better quality and the variation is much more then you see in Walmart The size of this store was awesome. I liked the way they had laid out the store. The aisles were nice and clean, everything was in order. They had so much variation of each items. The bread aisle was so long, the peanut butter section was a store by itself. After shopping here I'm not sure even the super Walmart stores would look good. read more

Meijer used to be favorite store but recently I have repeated bad experiences there and I almost don't want to go back now. Their conveyor belt is literally always wet and dirty sometimes even with meat juices from previous buyers and the cashier failed to clean it in one instance and in the second instance he straight off refused to clean it. I have experienced rude cashier behavior many times. Looks like they dont train their cashier well and now they are losing customers because of that. read more

Watch pumps! I took a completely empty 1 gallon gas can there. pumped 1.25 gallons in according to the pump. Can wasnt even .75 full. WHAT would that do in a 36 gallon truck tank? you'll never know. I will ALWAYS go somewhere else. read more

I DIDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE YOU! Back in the day, Meijer was my store. It was big, bright and always clean and organized. Before there was Wegmans, Publix or Kroger, there was Meijer. I loved MY Meijer becasue it always had everything I needed. The very sight of Meijer typically brings back great memories. However, this was not the case when I recently visited this location. First the store is a different design from the standard store. It appears very dated and has to be an original design for the 1960's. It reminds me of a large greenhouse structure. As I enter the foyer, I notice that they have their bathrooms conveniently located to the right of the entry doors which is nice. However, they were fairly disgusting and needed to be cleaned. Ugggh! This is not a good sign. As we continue into the store, I am not happy with what I see. This store is dirty and the produce is just sad. The grapes are old and attracting fruit flies and the cantaloupe is past its prime and just needs to be discarded or marked for "quick sale". It is interesting that the dirtiest part of the store was the entry area and the food section. This should NEVER be the case because if I am greeted by dirt, you have already lost me and I definitely don't want to see dirt and neglect in the food department for obvious reasons. It was just tragic all around and to top it off, their cashier just had an unprofessional attitude when the posted price did not match the price in the register. More training is definitely needed. ***The only positive experience was the outdoor gas pump which was selling gas for $1.85 per gallon. Cool! There is a Target just down the street so you might want to try it instead of this Meijer. read more

BLACK MAN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AT THIS MEIJER LOCATION!!! I went into this meijer to do an exchange and I was discriminated against. The girl thought I stole the items I was exchanging because I didn't have my receipt when I first came in but once I actually found my receipt and came back, she wouldn't do the exchange for me because she insisted that I brought the second item in that was on my receipt. The issue is, I was returning the item I brought with me not the item I didn't bring with me so why did that allow her to stop me from my exhange? She never checked the receipt or item once I came back in, she just argued with me the whole time without even checking the information. Basically she thought I was stealing and once I brought in the proof(to do an exchange) she denied the exchange because I didn't bring in the other item on my receipt which wasn't needed at all. While that was a lot, she also tried to extort me for $6 by saying I had to pay for not having proof of purchase for the exchange.( this was before I found my receipt) read more

Every time I have been here, I was able to get in and out with minimal delay. This store is clean, not nearly as crowded as Walmart on a slow day, everything is easy to find, and prices are reasonable to compare. The staff has been able to help every time I have asked, compared to the place across the street from Meijer. I don't mind shopping here at all. I will spend a couple extra pennies to ensure a better experience. After all I am a believer that even shopping experiences come with a price! With that said Meijer I like to go to for food and general items, then Kroger is next on my list, then Walmart is last. read more

Meijer is a dangerous place for me to shop. I'll go in with a specific list of things, and come out with all that, plus an extra tub of yogurt, cheap candy, cosmetics, hand sanitizer, a walking meter, light bulbs, and a ton of other stuff I found with red clearance tags. Meijer seems to have cheaper staple groceries than the stores I usually shop in the city -- baking supplies, canned beans and tomatoes for chili, frozen veggies. The fresh fruits and vegetables are also usually decently priced. The sales advertised in the flyers are usually good enough for me to make a trip out here once a month, especially the 10/$10 sales. I was a little surprised not to find much in the way of dairy alternatives (you can get cheaper soy/almond milk at Trader Joe's) or in ethnic spices (I was expecting those little plastic bags of dried peppers stapled at the top). read more

I generally shop at the Grove Cory location and now I know why. I know you need to respect the hardship of Covid but there is no excuse for workers to be rude from the time you enter until the time you leave. This is my place to shop for our groceries, but I feel I need to ask this question hoping someone from Meijer read this and addresses this. Is there something wrong with the cooler/refrigerator that is home to the orange juice? I visited Meijer today and all, not just one brand, but ALL the orange juice and lemonades where separating into layers of pulp or cloudy orange "stuff" (or off white for the lemonade) and various levels of transparent liquids. Minutemaid, Tropicana, generic brands, all where doing this. GROSS. I didn't buy my weekly ration of OJ today. read more

I give this place five stars since I visit this place more than any other place. I love Meijer with its prices and familiarity. I do not grow up with Meijer and when i moved down here 8 years ago, I found this place to be consistently the cheapest place to shop while I was in college. Wal-Mart may have some everyday lower prices but the sales and deals here beat Wal-Mart, Kroger, and other shopping places on a consistent basis. This is a regional chain that was a family business in Michigan. Pros: The produce always looks good and tastes as good as it looks. This place has the best Avocadoes around and consistently has healthier produce than the other chains. I know where everything is but that is because I have been there so many times. Bakery seconds and produce that is overipe is sometime found on a cart for dirt cheap which always makes me happy. Sales, Sales Sales. at least once a month a few of my staples go on sale for a great price- Edy's ice Cream, Hummus, Tortilla Chips, Lettuce, Milk, and various cereals. I rarely pay more than $2 for cereal here. 12 U-scans, Friendly service workers Cons: Furniture is a bit cheaply made but compensated with the price. Maybe not as many options as the huge chain across the street. A few of the Meijer brand stuff doesn't compare to the name brand- Ice Cream especially. The meat aisle can sometimes stink. The donuts can be a little dry. This place seems to be always open which is great but I would hate working here because they are open on holidays. read more
