I love this place. It's a moderately priced clothing store for women. They carry shoes, perfumes, jewelry, and clothes...of all sizes. I am a short, fluffy, hispanic woman. So, normal jeans are a joke. I yank them up and fight to get them over my thighs and bottom. only to have enough space in the waistline behind my lower back to carry my purse. UGH Annoying. Cato!!! YEAY!!! The great thing about Cato is that you can take several friends together, no matter what their size. From great jewelry (even sterling silver when in stock) to wide width shoes, there will be great finds for all! Half of the store is plus sized, the other half, regular women's sizes (from juniors to petites) and the shoes are towards the back and the underwear section is unique because the bras and bottoms match in quite a different range of sizes and are sold individually (so you may be smaller in areas and yet are not stuck with the package set type of thing). Always, ALWAYS, do yourself a favor, and browse the clearance rounders! I once got a dark cotton suit (blazer and lined pants set) that I needed for an emergency for $20 on clearance. I really wish there was a Cato in South Austin! It is so always worth the trip, though. I always feel like Cato is a best-kept secret for clothes on the cheap! I remember stopping in a Cato store a few years ago and not realizing months later I had a Cato shirt...which was a pleasant surprise :) The colors and patterns are vibrant but also still professional too so you can wear them to work as well. They fit women of all sizes. I love their flowing pants - perfect for Spring or Summer. Very inexpensive also. I'm giving this 4, not 5 stars because this particular store had way too many plus sized clothing in comparison to regular sizes. read more

shopped at the Cato's in College Station Texas and was asked to give driver license when II went into dressing room. Left store after buying several items, left license. Called several days later and girl remembered me and said yes SHE forgot to return license. Said the manager would be in Thursday and she would mail it to me. Waited week and called and talked to manager, called me a liar, never had license if I left it there it was thrown away. GREAT customer service by MANAGER, Rude , and VERY unprofessional. I had to get an outfit for an event and knew I could find something appropriate at reasonable price at Cato's. The two young ladies working that day, 10/26/19, were very friendly and extremely helpful. I bought more than I planned and am very happy with my purchases and enjoyed the experience thanks to your wonderful employees. This is my first time coming to a Cato store after my mom telling me many times that they have nice/affordable clothes and shoes for juniors. There wasn't a big selection of junior clothes, but the ones they did have were very cute! The service at the store wasn't that great. I tried on a romper that was on clearance (marked down twice from 19.99 to 7.99), and it was a perfect fit. At the register it rung up to be $19.99 instead of $7.99. It was no big deal, I was going to buy it regardless but when I asked if it was 7.99 the clerk said "nuh uh" and used a red pen to mark it back to 19.99 and even went as far as to just removing the item off my total without even asking if I wanted it! She just made it seem like I changed the price, like who carries around a red pen in their purse???? The proper response would have been "I'm sorry, it's ringing up to be 19.99 and I won't be able to change the price. Would you still like to purchase it?" TEACH YOUR EMPLOYEES PLEASE CATO. In the end, I just paid for a pair of shoes. Never coming back mom. read more

I LOVE this location! I have been going to this location for over a year and shopping at Cato for over 10 years. I always have the greatest time and the sales staff is always so friendly... except today. Today I was greeted by Danielle and everything went great, that is until she checked me out. A necklace that was on clearance rang up at the original price. When i asked her why it was in the clearance area and the price was clearly marked in red (twice) showing the original price to 7.99 then to 4.99, she rolled her eyes and said well maybe it was a mistake, we all make mistakes. OK. i get that but it had been marked clearance and i liked it so i said well i really like it and i want it for that price, can you get a manager. She sighed very loudly and threw the necklace on the table. WOW. What great customer service! Then the manager Johanna comes up and nicely said we have to give it to her for that price and changed it. I thanked Johanna and looked at Danielle and said please don't throw my necklace like that again. She raised her voice and began to argue with me that she was justified in her actions, all while her manager stood by her. When Johanna finally (a bit late in my opinion) told her to leave and go to the back so she could finish my sale, Danielle left and uttered more rude comments but never went to the back like her manager said NOPE she went to greet another customer. Again WOW. I have never been so disappointed in Cato then i was today. I own my own business and i would never allow an employee to talk to one of my customers like that. Some customers are rude and probably deserve to be spoken to rudely but i was not rude. I was on my lunch hour and just wanted to get away and de-stress with some retail therapy. I guess i choose the wrong place to go?? I hope not Cato. I really hope not.... read more
