I do appreciate the fact that you can purchase slices of pizza instead of a whole pie from Catalano's. Despite that fact, the pizza is nothing to rave about, the quality and taste is on par with what you might find at Domino's Pizza or Pizza Hut. I ordered the spaghetti & meatballs here on my first visit and I was quite disappointed with the presentation and taste of the dish. Take a look at the picture and tell me if it's worth $10? AWESOME pizza. I finally got a new spot. Being new to the area, it was a long Yelp study, but this place actually found by a random drive by. Not disappointed but I do have a few recommendations. Order the pie with half cheese. They put a TON of cheese, so if you're not used to heavy cheese, it will give ur belly some challenges. Don't eat there. Dining room is dirty and not "pizza parlorish", missing the arcade games, tv's, music, etc. So you either take the free delivery or pick it up. They do what appears to be kid dinner from heaven. If you're looking for a local pizza spot in the Bixby Knolls area, I would recommend this place. It's located in the plaza on Orange and Carson where the 99 cents store is at. Small joint but nicely remodeled inside with marble table tops, new red booth seats, and two flat screens to enjoy your meal while dining in. This place has pizzas from 8-24 inch also serving: calzones, lasagnas, salads, and spaghetti. They're very generous with their portion size and toppings unlike some pizza joints like Pizza Hut or Dominos they're pretty stingy with their toppings and cheese. Since I've been coming here, every bite has been oozing with cheese to where you have to use your fingers to stop the cheese from stringing (cheese lover--happy camper)! I usually get the Vegetarian on thin crust with an Anti-Pasto Salad, never disappointed. Anti-Pasto has salami, ham, turkey, cheese, black olives, onions, green bell peppers and of course your salad. Comes out beautifully made and packed with meat! They also have these specialty pizza that they haven't added onto their printed menu and I am not sure if they plan to but it's located on the window when you walk inside. They have the Pastrami Pizza-- pastrami, pickles--tastes just like a pastrami sandwich. White Chicken- White sauce with chicken on top-- love the white sauce. Forgot what else is on that menu... Long overdue review. Been coming here for almost 1 year and it's the best place for pizza. Prices are a little higher than your average pizza place but it's worth every penny! I usually get half the Catalano's special and half pepperoni which are my favorite toppings. Seriously it's the best pepperoni pizza I've had. Their marinara sauce is the best! I need to try their pastas. Garden salad is also very tasty and so are their wings. Staff at Catalano's is great. They are super friendly and hard working so don't forget to leave them a tip ;) read more

So I waffled between a 3 and 4 on this one and because it's close I gave a 3. Ordered the following: Garden salad-mediocrity in a box. (A pepperoncini or 2 would help this salad) Fried green beans - These ARE solid! Hot and spicy wings- zero stars for these. No flavor and lots of grease. Not sure where the spice went or if it ever existed. 9 wings for $9.99 with a teeny side of sauce is overpriced in my eyes. Also 1 of my wings looked like somebody prior to me took a bite out of it. (I attached a pic and that suspect wing is top right) i had one bite of the wings and the rest went into the trash. Don't waste your time or money on these. 24" pizza. Pep and sausage. Went for original crust and the pie was solid. Would get a pizza again without the overpriced bad wings. Cannoli- these were good Overall solid minus the "hot and spicy" wings that lack any spice whatsoever Had to go 3 stars simply for the either half eaten or decrepit chicken wing I received. Well, I finally found my place to get decent pasta nearby. I'm not saying Catalano's is going to win any awards for best pasta, but by comparison to most of the Italian fare in my neighborhood Catalano's is heavenly ambrosia. Not only did I find the Spaghetti with Italian Sausage a decent size for a decent price, but I also discovered that when pasta's done right there's simply no other better comfort food. I don't need much when it comes to pasta. My experiences with Carmine's in Arcadia proves as much. I basically want something that's going to fill me up without breaking the bank. Most of all I want something savory enough to make me coming back again and again for the same dish. Trust me, once I find a good pasta place I come back repeatedly. I purchased a Coupon card from a salesperson going door to door. It came with (3) free meals and a whole lot of buy 1 get 1 Free's. Last week I called and ordered a 12" Pepperoni and Jalapeno. They said it would be ready in 20 minutes and it was. All of the staff were very friendly. The decor was nice and the place was clean. I took the pizza home to eat. All of the toppings tasted great even the sauce! I would the crust was just OK for me. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, the crust was good but I prefer the crust to be thicker and chewy on the edges. I will still continue to buy from here, In fact today I am planning on ordering a sandwich from here. I really wanted to like this place, but man was I disappointed with the quality of the food. First off, it is way to pricey. 4.50 for a small garden salad that only had mushrooms, olives, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes, and it was small. As for the pizza, well it left little to be desired. 9.50 for their special 8 inch and it really didn't have a distinct flavor I've had pizza that was very tasty for $3 to $4 less. Also I noticed when one of the employees was making my salad he was not using any plastic gloves ( he was just grabbing the lettuce with his bare hands). On a positive note the employees were very friendly and got a chance to talk to the owner she was very personable very nice friendly funny so that made my rating go from 2 stars to 3. I drove from Carson for the 24" pizza. I must admit I was expecting the pizza to look like some of the pictures on here, which have more toppings. Mine didn't have as much as I thought it would. Also, I thought I was going to pay around $30. I was a little surpried it cost almost $38! Why I thought it would be less, I have no clue? So I ordered the 24" pizza with 3/4 pineapple and Canadian ham and 1/4 sausage. The pizza is tasty and the sauce is actually pretty good. I forgot to ask for light sauce, just because that's usually how I like it. They put quite a bit of sauce, a generous amount of cheese, but wish there was a little bit more topping. Overall the pizza is delicious and the one I ordered is definitely enough to feed quite a bit of people! The woman I spoke with was so sweet and very kind. The establishment is clean and good for tiny groups. Even with all my criticism, I still think they make awesome pizza and I love that the staff is friendly and welcoming! read more

I am a local here in Bixby Knolls. and speaking from living here quite a while, there isnt a good pizza place in sight. we have a dominos, papa johns, a pizza hut etc. TERRIBLE. i was introduced to catalano's shortly after moving here from downtown, and i have been hooked ever since. my friends and i alwaayssss go here for an amazing pizza. we get the thin crust catalano's special. idk why but its tradition to have it square-cut. with a side of italian dressing. anyways the pizza is so delicious and it tastes extremely fresh. not cardboard like all the chain pizza places. this is a one of a kind pizza. even though we always bring it home to eat, there are booths at the place itself, its kind of a tiny but cozy tiny. and they take a while to make it, but i think its because they dont have that many people and it really reassures me that it was freshly made right there! read more

These had to be to the biggest pizzas I've seen in a long time. I don't normally eat pizza but I did get this more for a friendsgiving for one of my dealerships that have been doing very well this year. I did eat their chicken wings and a couple of meatballs. Everything was good nothing was bad and it was pretty much what I had expected. Now I'll have to pay for my sins and spend the next 2 1/2 hours in the gym. The lady that was there assisting me was quite nice and very helpful. You can tell that the meals were made with nothing but love. 4 stars is def accurate. Don't stray from the pizza. Listen to these reviews! Luckily we came on a Wednesday so there was no wait but it IS longer than they say it will take if you order for pick up. The pizza is amazing and they put a solid amount of toppings on for the price. The dough and crust is perfect and fresh also! If you get a dip, try the jalapeño ranch. It's delish. Should be and is 5 star plus. It's a bit hidden but worth looking for. Ownership is amazing and seems someone is always there to greet you and hard at work. If you want some cheap crap pizza this isn't the place for you because once you have a Catalanos pizza you'll never want to back to those crappy joints like dominos, Caesar's or the hut. Calling those pizza is like calling Taco Bell Mexican food. You won't get phony cheese and "meat" on this pizza and whether we or they like it quality costs more money. I have to give Catalano's Pizza a 5-Star rating based on customer service alone! Not only is their pizza delicious and well made, but their staff go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy. An example of this would be when I placed an order online. This was my first time even trying Catalano's Pizza. Upon receiving my delivery, I noticed the pizza wasn't made how I had described online. None the less, Catalano's offered to make me another at no charge, and have it delivered right away. I'm sure they were busy because it was around dinner time, yet the correct pizza showed up within half an hour. This kind of customer service isn't really heard of now-a-days, and the fact that they were willing to correct my order with no questions asked and in a timely matter meant everything. I will definitely be ordering from Catalano's in the future as their pizza is some of the best around, and their employees are pleasant to deal with and very understanding.
