I have also had a horrendous experience with online ordering. I placed an order on Jan 20, 2018, this company withdrew my money from Paypal immediately and the order has been in limbo since. I heard back from customer service only after sending two emails. The representative told me that the items were shipped.According to the website, they were not. I have not used the boarding service. I probably won't. I just...can't. I'd rather pay someone to stay at my house while I'm gone. Oh yeah...I have 6 cats. it would also be very expensive to board them for a week. However, I found the shop to be rather enjoyable. There was a great selection of toys, though I found the prices to be a little high on a lot of them. Great selection of food...except they don't carry the Blue Buffalo Indoor cat food we feed our cats (they carry Blue Buffalo, just not the indoor cat formula). I was turned onto a great all-natural walnut-shell based litter. It's twice as expensive by weight as Tidy Cats. I asked, she told me about her customers that swear by it, but that she's never used it herself. Well, we'll take a chance. It is amazing. It lasts lots longer, doesn't make nearly as big a mess, and clumps using less litter, making the amount last a lot longer! And it's more expensive by weight, but not by volume! I will keep coming back for the toys and this litter, because it is so amazingly awesome. Coming from someone with 6 cats and only 2 litter boxes, that is really saying something. read more

We took our cat in for a lion cut for the first time recently and it was a great experience! The people were very friendly and the cut is FANTASTIC! There is virtually no shedding now, no HORRIBLE hair balls (so gross) and you can actually pet her without feeling like you are covered in spider webs afterward! She is an old cat and has always been my husbands lap cat (would not stay off of him and wanted nothing to do with me). After this cut, I swear, her personality has changed! Right away she started rubbing against me and for the first time, actually climbed onto my lap. Very strange, but pretty cool. Anyway, the ONLY reason I am givning 4 instead of 5 stars is because we were not notified that her claws would be cut and I am not even sure I should deduct a star because really, it is like deducting a star for doing too much grooming! Having said that, we have two dogs and our cat is a indoor/outdoor cat, so her claws are her only way of protecting herself. It may have been in the paperwork that we signed, but I do think since it was our first time there, they should have specifically asked us if we wanted her claws cut. When I called, the man I spoke with was very friendly and apologetic. He explained that it is just normal grooming, so when we come in next time, make sure to mention to them NOT to cut the claws and they will put a big warning sticker in the file. Dallas is a dog town. Make no bones about it (pun intended). But as the indentured servant of 6 cats I'm always on the lookout for a good kitty store. Walking in a knew this was going to be a good place, because the house cats were very friendly and walked right up to us for attention. Great selection of toys and accessories, both high end and affordable. They also offer boarding services and have several higher end foods and litter. Definitely worth a return trip. read more

And I love shopping here ever since I found the store. They have the unusual as well as the usual and carry an exquisite line of cat foods. You won't find cat trees like the ones that they have here anywhere else. They don't come cheap but they're definitely unusual and big. I have Maine coon cats six of them and they definitely need larger places for them to lay down or observe than most of the ones that you see elsewhere. I don't come cheap but if you're looking for something special this is the place. I live in Frisco so I don't frequent this place as much as I'd like just because of the long distance. But I do like to try to get there at least every couple of months. My kitties are always happy when they see the treats that they have when I get home from a shopping spree here. The store is a bit pricey with their items but I go here strictly for grooming...which is pricey as well; but they do such a great job that I don't let the price deter me. They only do cats....no dogs allowed; which I love! They understand cats and know how to treat them properly vs other grooming places who loathe grooming cats. Great place! read more

Not only is this place expensive but their store manager is extremely rude! My daughter took her cat in for what they deem is a lion cut and originally told her would only be $80 but ended up charging her over a $100. She had to have the cat trimmed again this year only to be hung up on 3 times by Kristie or whatever her name is. She was told that her appointment was at 9:30 in the morning and as she works across town needed to have her pet picked up in time for her to go to work by 3:00 pm. As she tried calling several times to see if her cat was ready the "Manager" kept brushing her off. She finally received a call and when she inquired about the trimming fee she was again hung up on. This place has horrible customer service. Especially to younger people! I would NEVER refer ANYONE ever to this place, EVER! Manager needs to be FIRED! read more

The previous review today must be for the wrong business. I was there again this morning, our Senior dog is in the ICU, and we needed food for her. The staff (owner, girl listed below and another male employee) looked at almost every can of food they have looking at fat, protein and other ingredients the vet laid out so we could take a bunch of options. Our dog ended up eating a can of goat, yes goat (grass fed no less) and the Vet was thrilled that we were able to find options to get her to eat, and on the road to come home The staff at this store is selfless, they host cat cafes to get cats adopted, making zero for their business. They take in cats from the local shelter when it is overcrowded, and those cats find homes. You will not find a more knowledgeable staff on nutrition for your fur-kids in the metroplex. read more

I have one kitty who is extremely picky and didn't like what I'd bought her. They were very helpful in making several exchanges until we found one her royal highness loved! I brought my cat here for soft paws and they did a great job putting these on her after she stayed in a cat suite. Visit two they refused to pet my cat before trying to put soft paws on her as I instructed them she stressed easily. I could hear her screaming in the back and they handed my cat back to me rudely and told me they couldn't do the job (put soft paws on her). Took my cat Feebee here while my house was getting treated for fleas. I couldn't be happier! Such a great experience all around. The girl that check us in was friendly and made me feel comfortable- she answered all of my questions. When I went to pick her up, the same girl told me how she did, and they even put her in a play room! She also got groomed while she was there and her coat has never looked better. Nice store, I will be going again. They have raw food along with many premium products at what appears to be priced fairly. There is also cat boarding services, from what I seen, they look nice. I have boarding my cat here for the past 4 years and absolutely love it!! They make the check in and check out process so easy and they always seem happy to see my cat, Dallas! they always check for fleas before hand and double check their shots and eating schedule. they have a little play room that they allow cats to go to so they aren't stuck in a cage the whole time we are in vacation. i also think they groom my cat? because he always smells so good when he comes home. couldn't recommend a better place! read more

I usually don't leave reviews nor did I have an account before this, BUT I have to leave this review after the incident that I had to witness. I hope that no one has to go through this! I was excited to go to this store because it's all about cats. Although, I have heard mixed reviews from friends I still decided to give it a shot. I went with a friend a couple of weeks ago. (maybe even longer) She was dropping off her cat in boarding that day. A young lady who works at the cash register (short brown curly hair) helped us. She took us to the room that is located before entering boarding. We waited in the smal room. She went in to the boarding room and started saying negative comments about us, she used a lot of profanity. (used words as s***,F***, dips***) (I guess she could have at least waited till we left the property IF it was such a need to bad mouth) I was in disbelief that this was actually happening. Just because there's a wall it does not mean that it can't be heard! My friend thought that the young lady was talking poorly about something else, but she wasn't.I didn't make a scene or anything since we really needed to board the cat and had no other option. The young lady was as rude and unethical as she could be. I hope that they do something about this! IT IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! NO EXCUSES FOR THIS! I hope the owner sees this review but I even have a few words to say about the owner... I was browsing through the store and she happened to be the one to help me. (I think her name is Errin?) I had a few questions about certain items and I asked her. She was anwering my questions, butI guess I asked too many questions... and she rolled her eyes at me and sighed with heavy frustation. She was RUDE and very UNPROFESSIONALl for a store owner. I use to take my breed cat here but he did not like it. Something freaked him out and he did a lot of open mouth breathing when he got there to the point we had to pick him up. Which is why the employees recommending that I give my cat a certain tranquilizer before bringing him in. My cat has been groomed since birth and not sure why they wanted me to sedate him before bringing him in(maybe the open mouth breathing). I did not like the fact they insisted that we give him a particular tranquilizer they recommended and that particular breed is allergic to that tranquilizer they recommended and will harm him. I do not think a grooming place should tell anyone what medications to give an animal without having the expertise or proper license to do so. Thank God when we called our vet he was like who told you to give him this? This will hurt him and told us to tell them not to recommend drugs for animals. We take him to another groomer and no problems or recommendations of drugs either or problems with him breathing open mouth. There is no problem recommending a sedative but to give the name of the drug etc is a bit to far. If we went to another vet he probably wouldn't have caught it and gave us the drugs. Always check with your vet before getting a simple sedative. Now Grooming... My cat came out so soft, fluffy and pretty. THey can groom I will give them that and it would last for several months but we cannot take him back because we will not sedate him to get groomed. read more

Both of my cats were very ill after they boarded there. It took my female cat two weeks and a couple of vet visits to get better - we even went to ER vet because she was struggling to breathe. I have no idea if she caught such a horrible cold from not getting completely dry after a groom or she was stressed out by the overall experience. read more

I adopted a long haired cat whose fur was a huge mess, matted all over, super dirty and shedding everywhere. They made him BEAUTIFUL!! Now he's smooth, shiny, perfectly clean and good smelling. I have been going to the Cat Connection for years and have always been pleased with their services. I had to board my cats for 2 months when my house flooded. I visited them every Saturday and they were fine. The people treated them great. They exercised out of their cages and I know they liked the people because they would go up to them when I was there. I also had them groomed while they were there and my cats loved it. They pranced around like they were divas or princes, since they are males. One side effect was that after they were shaved, they no longer groomed themselves when they grew out! I always recommend them and continue to shop there. read more

Having never really boarded my cats, I was very nervous about having to board them for almost two weeks while we moved. I spoke with both Jay and Ann ( the owners) who were more than happy to talk with me and answer any questions. I have a cat that does not travel well - both Jay and Ann were very knowledgeable on this and recommended food and remedies to help with this problem as the cats were being flown to our new home. Cat Connection worked very well with the Pet Moving company I chose and went above and beyond in making sure my cats were safe, loved and cared for. What a great boarding facility for the cats... grooming is fabulous... the store is wonderful... I can't say enough about The Cat Connection. Angeh takes excellent care of the babies in the boarding rooms. It is not clinical like other boarding facilities. The cats are in large cages, but all of them get to get out and run around throughout the day. It is clean, the cats are taken care of in the best way possible. Priscilla does a fabulous job with grooming. She takes a lot of care to be sure that the cats are calm and as relaxed as possible while she is grooming them. I LOVE THE CAT CONNECTION!!! read more

The Cat Connection owners and staff are courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. I have read some negative reviews, and I am shocked at what some have said. Since either my husband or I have gone to Cat Connection at least once per week for over 10 years, I think we would have experienced or observed some of the negative that others have claimed but we have not. My guess is that the reviewers had a bad day, were in a bad mood, received some bad news, are unhappy, or were just plain cranky. I know every place can have a bad day but the worst I have observed or experienced is that they were out of the food we buy. We have, however, experience very rude, self-absorbed, self-entitled customers. Yet, the staff remained patient and courteous. We would not drive out of our way and give our hard-earned money to a company we didn't trust and believe in. If you use the general review rule of throwing out the highest and lowest review, you still have solid favorable reviews for Cat Connection. read more
