I was looking for mobile grooming because I have 2 fosters and 1 rescue, and they are timid. I wanted them to be clean and happy for Christmas. I called around and no one could do it this week until I called Bark Avenue. Jay was really nice and said he would work around my schedule. He was to arrive at 10a to start the salon services. He was running late but sent me a text to let me know and arrived at 10:30a. He and his mother (his partner was ill) took care of the 3 dogs and they were not nervous or skeptical. That says a lot because these 3 have been through so much and their confidence level is way below the radar. He cleaned everything up, vacuumed and left the place clean. I was able to use the Yelp deal so it only cost me $120 for the 3 dogs, and that included de-shedding for 2 of them (where others wanted to charge up to an additional $25). I scheduled an appointment with the owner after speaking to him last Monday at 11am. He was very nice and told me he had availability this Friday at 12pm. He asked me to text him confirming the appointment time and my address, which I did. Unfortunately today I called them at 9am after never receiving a response to my text. They didn't answer, but called me back at 11 after me texting them asking them to please confirm my appointment since I work full time and would need to come home. He told me that he didn't have any record of my appointment, and even when I sent him the screen shot of me confirming the appointment he told me he never received it and that he was sorry. Long story short- they didn't even offer me another appointment or some way to apologize/rectify for the error (discounted groom? Come by on their day off?) and even though they were polite on the phone I wouldn't recommend such a disorganized professional service to any friends. I mentioned that their Yelp reviews seem to reflect lots of missed appointments and he said it was just the two of them so unfortunately that's why. I really think Bark Avenue should look into hiring an assistant for scheduling, or an online platform for booking appointments. You are losing a lot of dog-loving, paying customers by losing appointments and not offering any kind of consolation for the mistake on your end. read more

Update: they were nothing but perfect the 6-7 times we used them. Now I've been trying to get scheduled for 2 weeks and they have responded only once to my 5 attempts saying they'd get back to me. . . . We just used these guys for the first time. We have a newborn so it was important for them to be on time, quick, and non intrusive. They exceeded all expectations. It takes a bit to get a call back, but that's because it is two guys grooming and taking appointments. You aren't dealing with a big company and getting passed around. They made things so easy and our dogs look great. My older dog is not a fan of grooming, so they gave him a break half way through and took him on a walk. By the time they left, both dogs were happy and looked amazing. Very reasonable pricing. It was worth every penny and more. We will definitely use them again. read more

From the other reviews it appears that when these guys actually show up they do quality work. Unfortunately my puppy and I weren't given the benefit of first hand experience and we will not be making a second attempt. On the day of my appointment they no showed. I had to make a few attempts to get someone on the phone before someone finally answered. They sounded groggy, as if I had just woken them up, said that something had come up and they couldn't make it out. Mind you this was 45mins AFTER my scheduled appointment. We had confirmed the day prior via text, as recommended. To top it off I had taken the day off from work for my puppy's home grooming and then had to spend several hours trying to find any groomer who could take my dog that day. From the other reviews I've read this seems to be a horrible pattern with this particular company. I would encourage the owners to take a close look at their customer satisfaction policies. If I can't rely on your company to keep appointments, or at the very least communicate quickly and effectively, then I don't care how great you are once you show up. read more

Really gentle and skilled groomer! My cocker has a bad back and knee and the groomer was sure to give her breaks and made her very comfortable. Her cut turned out wonderful. I will keep using them for my two cockers. ***I'm updating my review based on the following experiences. 3rd grooming: groomers showed up at 9am when they were scheduled for 1pm. Said they lost their books. 4th grooming: groomers were more than an hour late 5th grooming: groomers over charged my husband and I had to call to get a refund. Husband didn't know the correct rate and I was not home at the time of the transaction. 6th grooming: groomers didn't show up for the scheduled grooming. Tried calling twice to find out what happened and reschedule. No one ever returned my call. Now I'm left with no groomer and I am too busy with grad school to find another. I had set up the grooming with these guys so that I would not have to worry about this once school started. Very disappointed! read more

I'm so sad that I didn't get the same great experience as everyone else. I made an appointment, they asked to reschedule and then they didn't show up for the rescheduled date. I was told that my text wasn't received to confirm the reschedule (to which I sent the screenshot with the time stamp of the returned text) and then was offered another day. At that point I had to decline. I'm very disappointed after reading such great reviews and super ticked that my dogs still need to be groomed. To those that continue doing business with them, a phone call is much better than a text. No one can say they didn't hear your voice. read more

This company is a joke. We have 3 dogs and the owner showed up yesterday with only time for 1 dog. When I called the owner to ask when he might be by to finish the other 2 dogs he told me he might be by 4 days later and then got mad (because he already told my husband this information) and hung up on me. Don't bother with these guys. They have no idea what they are doing. Follow Up Note: It was not the owner who was so rude to me...it turned out to be an employee. The owner was nice and texted me to apologize so I am giving another star because the owner immediately responded to my review and seems to care. I still have two dogs that remain ungroomed though and it was close to 100 degrees today. If you are going to use this business, I recommend dealing directly with Jay, the owner. read more

Today was their second visit to groom my highly anxious, drama queen Shih Tzu Frida, whom I got for Christmas. The first visit, they were so wonderfully patient with her, I couldn't believe it. They gave her multiple breaks when they thought she needed them, and were extremely understanding. They did a lovely job and at a very reasonable rate, considering they came to our home, so she was in her own environment. Frida has a bit of a Napoleana Complex and loves to bark at big dogs, so I'd just hate to take her to a regular groomer, not to mention, most places don't even let you watch what they're doing, let alone, let you see the facilities--AND they usually keep them in a little cage for hours and hours. Frida loves them both and I feel so comfortable letting them take care of her on the patio while I do this or that around the house. They clean up after, so very gentle with her, and are both very sweet, polite, and professional. I couldn't ask more from a groomer of my little fur baby. read more

They came at the recommendation of a neighbor & after reading all the positive yelp reviews I was just praying that they were as great as everybody said they were. I'm happy to report that they are!!!! I have a very busy travel schedule and it is really hard for me to find the time to drop my dog off for an entire day at the groomers. Jay and Steven do **such** a fantastic job on our crazy/stupid dogs. We have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and Bark Avenue always manages to get their mats out and make them look like canines to the manor born. They are also very sweet to our creatures, which is important since grooming can be sometimes stressful or scary. Prices are right in line with "regular" stationary groomers, which is great and not always the case with a mobile setup. First time to try a mobile groomer and the experience was great. Some background - The last couple attempts at taking my dogs to a traditional groomer for baths went horribly. One of my dogs is a rescue and can be very high anxiety. He hated going and would freak out when they tried to crate him; I felt awful and decided that was the end of that. Since then both of my dogs turned into total stinkbombs. I had tried bathing them myself but it was always an ordeal and they never looked or smelled as good as when a groomer did it. Then I heard about mobile grooming services, found Bark Avenue, and voila! My prayers have been answered! They did a fantastic job and were so great at handling our dogs (even our high anxiety mutt seemed totally content in their hands). One year ago, I moved to Dallas with my four dogs; two of which not only require consistent grooming, but have complicated cuts. I had never tried mobile grooming before, but thought I would give it a shot. Steve and Jay are awesome and have far exceeded my expectations. They take great care of my dogs, provide a comforting experience for them, have great technical skill, take the time to listen to what I have to say, offer suggestions and tips when appropriate, and are always professional and kind. Yes, sometimes they are hard to reach; but I understand it's two guys doing EVERYTHING with no other staff. They have never been rude with my persistence in reaching them. If they are running late, they communicate that to me. If an earlier opening becomes available, they communicate with me. They clean up after themselves and their service is not overpriced. The groomers just left my house and I am extremely satisfied with the whole experience. Almost too good to be true! They arrived on time and were very friendly to both my dog and I. They set up their table in the kitchen and immediately got to work. They were finished in one hour and my pup looked great. I could definitely tell a difference in her mood as well. She was very happy and energetic! They also did a solid job cleaning up, I couldn't even tell they were here! I will definitely be using their services again soon. I have always had "wash and go" Great Danes so wasn't sure where to go when I adopted a medium sized mutt that desperately needed grooming. I turned to yelp and reading all the glowing reviews AND the fact that they came to your house, I called and made an appointment. Not only were they able to work with my schedule, but they had an appointment open the next day. They called to confirm, showed up on time and were so fabulous to me and my dogs. Life changed! It is not easy to take our 2 elderly, 100 pound dogs to the groomer- hard on them and hard on us. They would be terrified in a mobile grooming van. Not a good experience. I explained that this was an elderly dog and that is why we were doing a mobile service vs going to a groomer. He used our exterior hose, did not bring an equipped van. He didn't clean her face and he charged $75. He was here less than 20 mins. We also found fleas on her afterwards which we didn't notice or she didn't have before and which he didn't point out to us. read more
