I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I brought my 10-year-old Maltese, Snow, in on the Fourth of July for grooming. Before the appointment, I specifically requested a teddy bear cut, which is a fuller, rounded trim that keeps the dog's coat looking soft and fluffy. Instead, my dog was completely shaved down. The haircut looked nothing like what I asked for.
Since the salon closed early for the holiday, it honestly felt like the groom was rushed. Looking at the final result, it's hard not to wonder if taking the time to do the haircut properly was sacrificed to get out early.
To be clear, I am not complaining about the bath, nail trim, or the staff's friendliness. Those services were completed satisfactorily. My issue is solely with the haircut, which cannot simply be "fixed." Once a dog's coat has been shaved, you have to wait months for it to grow back.
I contacted the owner, Mark, respectfully and explained my concerns. I was not asking for a full refund. I requested what I believed was a fair 50% partial refund for the haircut since it was not performed as requested. Rather than taking accountability, Mark refused any refund and instead offered a complimentary bath and nail trim on a future visit. While that may sound generous, it does nothing to correct the haircut that I paid for and cannot be undone. read more
