What am I supposed to do with this rat? I've also purchased two lamps from them recently and had a very similar experience. They test it before you leave to make sure it works bc there's no return on lights. It works when they test it and in both cases, the light burnt out in less than a week. They're clearly using the lamps for other things (chickens and other reptiles) and putting those bulbs back in the boxes then pulling this no return BS. Don't trust these people, go to literally anywhere else unless you like wasting your time and money

You can obviously tell that they have a dedicated staff to the aquatic section that actually care about what they're doing and go out of their way to keep everything clean, neat, organized, and for the most part the stock is healthy and there's a great variety. The store gets a high rating when it's compared to other big box companies that are similar to it, but my only grievance and the reason why it didn't get five stars is because they have an in-store policy where they try to tell you that they can't sell any pets or aquatics one hour prior to closing. As somebody who used to work in these kinds of stores, I understand that closing is sometimes hectic when still having to tend to customers and anyone would love to be able to get their closing routines done by closing, but that's not how business works. In a perfect world as a prior employee that would've been awesome to be able to clock out once the doors close but once the store closes, that is when the closing routine and taking care of all the animals for the night is supposed to begin. During operating hours, sales should never stop. So although it can be extremely annoying when customers show up late or close to closing, sometimes that's all people can do depending on their work shift and they're trying to make it to the store before it closes. An average person might think, just come the next day when they're open, but when it comes to first come first serve on certain fish that are already hard to find, you want to be able to get what you can find as soon as possible before someone else comes before you. Superior Farms femur pipe bones are AMAZING. Not only do they last hours- they rarely break/splinter. ( and won't break the bank) Our dogs love them so much that we buy about a box every month. They are also perfect for stuffing with greek yogurt/peanut butter ect... My review is more about customer service though. Unfortunately they were out of stock on the bones I was looking for and one of their employees went above and beyond to help us out. They apologized and sent us an "inconvenience gift." It's hard to find good customer service these days and this company really cares about their customers. I highly recommend them to all puppy owners!

Petco lost a customer today…read more We've been loyal customers at our local Petco since they opened 30 years ago. Today, I went in to get a refill on cat litter, using the same refillable containers we've used all along. When I went to checkout, the new manager informed me that she could not sell me the cat litter because the containers were "non-conforming" and too big (by 8 ounces). I told her that I've been using the same containers for years and no one had ever mentioned that they were "non-conforming." She replied "No, sorry, that has always been the rule!" (implying that I was lying). I offered to pay the difference and she said that was not an option. I offered to dump out the difference and she said there was no way to verify the correct weight. (Seriously? Eyeball it! It's cat litter ffs!) Then she told me I would have to take the containers back to the refilling station and dump them out! I told her I was leaving them with her and didn't care what she did with them. She told me I was being rude, and I told her she lost a customer. The staff at our local Petco have always been so friendly and helpful, but today was such a departure from the norm. We're going to give the new Pet Smart that's opening up in a couple of weeks a chance to earn our business.
