This was my son's favorite birthday party ever!! Ed and his helper were very knowledgeable and made this a once in a lifetime experience! I highly recommend. All of our guests really enjoyed it.

If you are looking to host a reptile party I whole heartedly HIGHLY RECOMMEND CMC Reptiles. I spent over a week looking for a reptile person to come for our son's 7th birthday party and was getting pretty stressed out waiting for responses from the "Lizard Lady" and "Nature's Critters." I found CMC Reptiles when I stumbled upon 2 reviews on Yelp. With only 2 reviews, I was somewhat hesitant to book them but after reviewing their website and I decided to go with it! I paid for the 1 hour party upfront and immediately received a confirmation email. A few days after booking I texted Ed a few questions and he was very quick and responsive. On the day of the party, Ed and his daughter Vanessa arrived early for our party. The brought snakes, tortoises and I think a chameleon. The kids AND adults really enjoyed watching the large tortoise explore our backyard and holding all the snakes. Ed and his daughter did a great job teaching 15 children and keeping them entertained. They were very patient and everyone got a chance to hold a reptile. They also left some animal graham crackers for the guests. I was really impressed with their service and definitely recommend CMC Reptiles. I am so grateful for their service and glad everyone had a good time.

Ed was amazing! Our daughter had a blast and all the kids were excited to learn and handle the snakes and turtles! Ed went above and beyond to answer questions and engage the kids and adults! Highly recommend him especially if you're local to Vacaville!

You have an assortment of diff reptiles, from monitors, to snakes, to iguanas, to geckos, etc. that you can choose to observe, pet, hold, or even buy. If you decide to buy anything, you also have all the items available to set up a tank for the first time or just stock up on some supplies if you already have an existing set up. The prices here were very competitive, there were exhibit deals happening all around. If you do want to hold a snake, or even take a picture with it, it will cost you at least $5 a round, so that was a bit costly.

Reptile Realms (aka the San Jose Reptile Show), for the last two years has been unable to hold the event at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds (as they did annually pre-covid). So they expanded to holding the expo at the San Mateo County Event Center for 2022. Basically there are LOTS of reptile displays, with most of the creatures for sale, and all of them for show. We found mostly snakes, all kinds of sizes, some with very unique patterns, vendors willing to share plenty of knowledge and info about the species, and even some snakes visitors could hold (for free). Besides snakes, there were roaches, crickets, tarantulas, shaved mice, lizards, geckos, chameleons, bearded dragons, tortoises, and some species I can't even name. I realize not all were reptiles, but there was also reptile "food" for sale, and other creatures. And you could get up close and personal with these animals, it was so cool. They also sold clever animal T-shirts and hats, toys (lots of snake themed, but also random stuff like unicorn horns), habitats, plants, and food (for reptiles and for humans). The event took place mainly in a giant hall, so it felt spacious even with the crowds. There were no lines and no wait to enter. And there was plenty of parking (with a $15 fee which was more expensive than the admissions ticket). Some of the reptiles are just sooo cute, especially those baby tortoises, this is a great place to find a new pet. But not for me... my bunnies wouldn't like that.

My roommate left his Cory fish behind, and he seemed so lonely. I just wanted to make sure he found a good home with friends. I was honestly a crying mess, but Marisol was so comforting and reassuring. She took the time to explain everything and made me feel confident that my Cory fish would be happy here with other fish and he truly was. Seeing him settle in and look so happy meant everything to me. I also really appreciate that they allow you to surrender fish here. If you're ever in a situation where you can't afford to care for a fish anymore, or for any reason you're unable to keep him, you can bring him here knowing he'll be cared for properly and placed with other fish. Marisol's compassion and genuine love for animals (and people) truly stood out. You can tell she has such a big heart and really cares about what she does. I'm so grateful for her kindness during a tough moment. Also the facility was so clean! All the fish looked so happy! Such a great environment!! Thank you all!!!

The only catch he told me was that he had a bad disposition and would get very agitated and try to bite anyone who got close to him. After allowing me to handle him till he calmed down a bit he offered to give him to me at no charge if I was willing to work with him. After going through some bonding exercises (and yes he did bite me once) he has come to settle down and now allows me to hold him and is adjusting well to his new home. The fact that I was given the bearded dragon only goes to show that the people at The Reptile Room really care about their animals and customers. I highly recommend The Reptile Room for service above and beyond!

I think they also host educational birthday parties and events too. They have beardies, sulcata tortoises, leopard geckos, uromastyx, some snakes and other geckos (gargoyle and crested I think), chameleons, and I think some water dragons near the exit. I thought it was neat that they had that large tower/pillar glass enclosure in the middle of their shop as well and a shop parrot too. I believe that most of their leopard geckos and pythons were in smaller enclosures/containers as they're for breeding/are breeders or something along those lines, but I'm hoping that they get time to stretch or get purchased to pet parents quickly. Overall not bad, I always love the opportunity to look at some cold blooded buddies, but I feel like this reptile shop is more of a community staple for reptile owners rather than somewhere an out of towner would make a must stop.

It was a friendly crowd, and we got to hold some of these fascinating reptiles after signing a waiver and making a donation or paying a small fee. We also supported some of the reptile rescue organizations by buying merchandise, plus shopped for gifts at the vendor booths. Entry tickets were $15 each. Parking was also $15 (though we had the missus drop us and pick us up). There was food available - we shared super nachos ($15 again!), which were filling and delicious. Bathrooms were well maintained, and there was hand sanitizer everywhere! Will be back next year!

Also, photo ops for five bucks if you want to hold a snake, presentations and speakers at different times (educating and entertaining visitors both on and off stage), and a concessions stand selling burgers, hot dogs, salads, and nachos among other things, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (dining tables and seating were outdoors though, even with the cold of winter). A few things I saw here that I haven't seen much of at the other reptile fests are rats as pets (usually only see them sold as food for reptiles), bats (several different species, which was cool to see up close), beautiful carnivorous plants, spider homes (creatively and playfully decorated), and yellow shelled turtles (albino, I believe). We also saw a lot more turtles and tortoises here than expected, especially during the final hours of the last day of the event. We didn't find the specific soil we wanted for our tortoise at home, as they had run out by the end of the event. But the vendors were friendly and helpful, offering future discounts at their actual store, and teaching us about their products as well as the general recommendations for certain species. So we learned a lot while there, and didn't go home empty-handed. We puchased a 3D backdrop for our tortoise habitat... saw one of the tortoises at the show with this and just had to get our own... so now our tortoise lives in the desert :D Event parking sucked! I've never had a problem with the lots at Alameda County Fairgrounds (for different types of events), but this was the worst. At $15 per vehicle, the parking design for this event was nonsensical (and they blocked off certain areas to make sure you followed this nonsense), I saw many cars getting stuck in narrow dead ends while looking for parking, going in reverse or making 10-point turns, and obviously interrupting the flow of traffic. That being said, this was still a fun event, nothing really extraordinary, but worth checking out especially if you are into reptiles or looking for a new cold-blooded pet.
