She did mention that she moved out to Patterson instead of breeding in Sunnyvale. However, she was very flexible and accommodating so we FaceTime to see the puppies a week before I came to pick up Georgi. I was impressed with how clean the house was especially for housing many dogs. I was mention that the puppies come home crate trained. For the most part they are because they're so accustomed to sleeping in the crate and we didn't have any problems with her crying and such. She's potty pad trained but did have a little accidents here and there. I mean they're still babies, totally expected and understandable. Georgi is one of the best things. She's extremely cuddly and friendly. She loves everything that moves. She was a bit wild for the first few months but that's with any kids, that have energy. One of the best thing is that she's neither submissive or dominant. I've had my friends dogs try to dominate her and all she does is walk away and then she will return and attempt to play while sharing her toys. She loves loves to swim! Isn't afraid of loud noises because we took her out on July 4th to see fireworks. I'm obsessed with her and her little quirks. I reached out to Jenna and was able to adopt my Gigi with no trouble at all. Jenna is an experienced breeder who makes the adoption process a breeze. All the advice she has given me was spot on! We were smitten, said yes, and picked her up a month later at SFO. These dogs are not easy, but a year later it has been the best decision we've ever made. Raili has gone from shy and reserved to a goofy confident dog. the formosan breed is very fight or flight so it is important to give them time to adjust, but also make them face challenges and overcome their fear. Adopt a doggie gave us referals to Brent Cooper (cooperhaus training). and we worked with him for a short while to help with training and confidence building. These dogs are work, but if you have the time it will absolutely work out.

Drove down from Sacramento & got him in July 2023 and he will be 2 in February 2025. A lady stopped us on our walk the other day to say how much she was admiring him. We can't thank Jam enough for our sweet baby boy, Archie!…read more I have a soft spot for the yorkie breed. When my husband and I first met, I had a Yorkie named Maverick. We absolutely loved him and had no clue how lucky we were to have such a great pup. When he passed, we were heartbroken and after a few years adopted our pup, Isabella. She was a fearful rescue but after putting in the work, she's a great pup - though still stand off-ish and scared of people. At daycare, her reports cards always came home telling us she snuggled with her friends - two yorkies. It was then we decided that we'd eventually get her a yorkie sibling. When we finally got serious about adding a pup to our family, I started looking high and low for a reputable breeder. As someone who'd always rescued, I'd heard horror stories of bad breeders and am fairly certain that Isabella came from a backyard breeder before we adopted her. I was determined to find a breeder we could trust. We knew that with Isabella's fear issues, we couldn't have a second fearful dog that barked at everyone. Our hope was that we could find a well-socialized, happy puppy that might even rub off on Isabella. For that, we knew we needed to go with a breeder. I did extensive research on how to spot a bad breeder and felt like I knew enough to ask the right questions. Jam wasn't my first phone call. Before her, we spoke with a different breeder that came highly recommended from someone we met on vacation in wine country. After a few calls with that breeder, I saw several red flags and wouldn't move forward with her. Several more breeders later (& feeling more confident in what to look for), I found Jam's website. From my first phone call with Jam, I could tell that she LOVED dogs. She answered all my questions and then some. Importantly, she listened to what we were looking for in a pup. She asked questions about us, gave tips on how to evaluate a pup, and I never felt as though she was half-answering or dodging a question. She never pressured me to move forward. Best of all, her pups were raised in the home and even sleep in her room! When the puppies are 8 weeks old, they get introduced to the rest of the pack and socialize with her adult dogs. This was essential for us. With some conflicting obligations during the holidays, we couldn't pick him up until Dec 2 and so he stayed with Jam until he was 15 weeks old. He got an extra 3 weeks to socialize with the pack! We flew to the Bay Area to pick Archie up and from the moment we got there, we knew we had made the right choice. Archie has been such an angel! The absolute best disposition; friendly with other dogs and people. He is always so happy and boy is he SMART! He learned his name in one day - seriously - one! He's nearly all potty trained and he happily goes into his crate at night right next to his sister. He loves to explore and when things seem a tad too quiet, we find him sitting at the front window looking out into the front yard and sniffing. He loves chewing on his toys and rolling around in the grass in the backyard. And oh is he a daddy's boy - when he hears the car turning the corner, he starts jumping up and running towards the door. Although, he loves Isabella the most. From the moment he gets out of his crate in the morning and then all day long, he follows her, antagonizing her to play, snuggling up for naps, and watching out the window together. Archie was exactly what we - and Isabella - needed. A happy, sweet, BRAVE, inquisitive, funny, well-adjusted, healthy pup that completes our little family. I could go on and on about him and his cute personality. Thank you, Jam! It's been almost 5 months with him, and he is more than we hoped for. We absolutely love our sweet Archie!

Dr. Doe, Dr. Ekloff and a couple of other vets whose names I no longer remember, took care of our "kids". After they both passed, we decided not to have any more dogs as we were heading toward retirement and more travel. Then in late 2023, Mochi, a 3-year-old purebred Shiba Inu needed a temporary home. We knew her and her humans and brought her home to stay with us for a couple of weeks. When we realized that she was going to need a new forever home, we had to decide whether to give her up to another family or keep her for ourselves. Sentimentality once again beat out common sense. So, we changed her name, re-registered her existing chip, bought pet insurance and looked into a new vet. In order to do our due diligence, we checked yelp ratings and then called around. Many offices, including Good Samaritan, were crushed by volume during the COVID-19 epidemic and were not accepting new patients. A computer check showed that we were still listed in their computers even though at least 15 years had passed. Because of the past patient relationship, Mochi was accepted as a patient. We managed to make a wellness check appointment with Dr. Doe, the owner, to establish baselines. The following month, we received a letter from Dr. Doe stating that he was retiring. Since then, we've been to the office a few times, for vaccine's, a nail trim and once when she had something sticking out of her b*tt. The staff and especially one vet tech were kind and helpful to us and our fur baby. On the last visit, we met another Vet who I had a great conversation with regarding food, diet and weight control. I'm sorry that I forgot her name, but she really spoke with enthusiasm and authority without trying to sell anything offered at the office. I knew that if she were the attending vet, we would be in good shape. We take very good care of our Princess. At the vet's suggestion, we took her off of Science Diet but Lamb and Rice as her main diet and switched to "fresh foods" from Ollie. She still gets a few bits of kibble sprinkled with her food and it's also used as a training tool. This past Monday, while on her evening walk, I noticed that her ear looked a little off. When we got home, I saw that most of the fur behind her right ear was gone as well 1/2 the fur from her left ear. There wasn't much we could do. We did have some hot spot spray and used it, but it didn't seem to make much difference. On Tuesday morning, we call Good Samaritan to schedule an appointment to have Mochi checked. We were told that they were booked up and the earliest available appointment was on July 31. Not 24 hours later, but 24 DAYS later. We were also told that we could be added to the waitlist should any appointments be cancelled and if we were really concerned, to take Mochi to an Emergency Veterinarian Hospital or try another vet. It leads to me wonder if day to day health is taking a backseat to scheduled wellness visits and vaccinations. One thing for sure, I see no reason to return to Good Samaritan.

And best of all, they don't force you to do a million unnecessary and expensive things. They understand what our dog needs, what's realistic given his age, and what will give him the best outcome. Previous vets ignored what we told them, and instead demanded a million exams and tests that aways cost a ton. Good Samaritan listens to you, and if they can help your pet without charging you an arm and a leg, they do so without hesitation. A+ all the way around.
