Came in looking for feed for a chicken that showed up in my yard. The two men that were working were very helpful and even tried to identify the chicken in a book he had behind the counter. I would definitely return and recommend this business. read more

Close Feed & Supply - Chicken - Pet Stores Near Me - Hayward, California

Nice costumer service! The owner was so nice!! Made you feel like family! We expressed what we needed for our little hens. He had everything we needed. Awesome prices too! Even if prices were more expensive I'd buy from him anytime . Support local small businesses ! He even gave me a small pallet I needed . BTW They don't give those away they send back to suppliers. They were two people working plus a lazy cat. Hehe super cute! The man was very knowledgeable and was very very helpful! Will come again! Just don't park near the auto repair shop, and don't come before closing time (3pm) read more

I'm updating my review . Every year the church has a hoedown and they always let me borrow two bales of straw for it, reminds me of time when people used to trust and help people, lol they are just the best read more

Close Feed & Supply is my absolute favorite place for purchasing the products for my and my son's bird. The staff, especially Pat, are super friendly and helpful. Their main concern is to please their customers. A wonderful small, like Mum and Pop, store that is hard to find theses days. One of Hayward's Gems for sure. Heidi read more

Just left this place. The owner (I think) and the taller guy were friendly and helpful. Prices were cheaper than online and other feed stores. Would definitely come back. U guys got my business from now on. read more

Close Feed & Supply - New hours . The yelp opening hours are not - Pet Stores Near Me - Hayward, California

Good prices and the customer service is good enough in general while you are in the store. I just wish they would keep regular hours. The hours posted online are not followed. They post their hours as 9:30am-3pm in their window but they will often be late to work and not be open when they say they will and they will also close early without warning. I usually have to play a guessing game as to when they will be open. Can be frustrating to leave work early to get here before 3pm and then they aren't even there. So their good prices get erased in those instances. read more

I couldn't miss to write this review of this business that has been here for many years and provide very good service. We are fortune to have them in our neighborhood at the same with all the auto repairs as well read more

I'm happy to have found Close Feed & Supply not so that I can buy chicken or horse food, but for gardening supplies. Dry Stall is a pumice that is used for keeping horse stalls dry. Another use for it is as a soil amendment for cacti and succulents. It's much more cost efficient than buying 8qt bags of EB Stone pumice for $7-8. A 40 pound bag of dry stall is $15! Straw bales are $13.75 for 75 pounds of straw? I bought it as a mulch for my garden. Thank you to the friendly staff who laid cardboard in the backseat of my car, and loaded it in for me. They sell baby chicks and high quality brands of dog food, like Victor Professional here, too. read more

Friendly, Helpful, and great selection of product for my chickens. I will be coming back.

I like this place I've had a couple dogs I come in and get their shots. You know they're cheap affordable however, they need to update online because I drove over an hour in in traffic and you know gas and everything was wasted to pull up in front of the store and it says it closed at 3 o'clock but online it says it's open till five so I mean , it's just an inconvenience. Please update online. read more

Shop locally! I was looking for pine pellets and couldn't find them at "the regular places". Didn't want to drive 40 miles - when I remembered Close Feed was close by. Great people, every thing I needed, easy in and out and done. They have rearranged a little for the new Covid-19 rules, so, go to the big roll up door and wait your turn, the old side door is locked. Skip google, just go on over, I'm sure he's got something you need, even if he doesn't have everything. read more

So I was having a pony party and wanted some Hay for decor. I'm not into animals and this was purely for decoration. Close Feed and Supply is close by and I decided to drop by to see if I could buy some. They were super nice and when I was telling them of what I had planned they showed be the hay bales. I asked if I can donate it somewhere after the party and they offered to just rent it out to me at a lower price. The day of the party they helped me load it into my car and then also unloaded it when I returned. Total win! read more

Came in for some vaccinations for our pups. There was someone waiting outside so he was able to grab it for me. Super speedy service & friendly workers! And they gave me vaccination cards so we can keep track of it They have it all! dog food, cat food, sheep food, bird food, chicken food.. what you need they have it! But always call in advance to see what they have in stock! Or what they provide! It's more of a warehouse, not a grocery store where you can linger around! So just know what you need before you go in read more

Best customer service ever! They not only ALWAYS help me load and find what I need quicker than I can pay, they have insight to what I need. I've owned a lot of horses and I don't buy pallets of hay etc but they treat me like I buy thousands of dollars worth of supplies. They are the only feed store that's close but I'd travel to them if I had to because of how they treat me. Thank you for being so kind, informative and ALL the staff feel more like family than a merchant. Best always. read more
