African dwarf frogs.

Great selection! My three African dwarf frogs are doing great and I got my PH under control!

Best Local Fish store around my place! I have been seeing this place for the longest time and never visited until recently. I have been obsessed with aquascaping this past month and wanted healthy fishes for my tank. Luckily I saw this place! I have bought Pleco, Hellboy Betta, Cory. They are thriving and of course happy! The packing is the best part!!! They do not use rubber band unlike how Petsmart, Petco does it. I hated it! The way they package it you'll know the air wont go anywhere else. They also have lots of varieties of Freshwater and Saltwater! I enjoy coming in here! A big recommendation for beginners!

If you don't know about fish or tanks don't go here they will make you feel dumb and won't treat you with respect. Bold headed guy with glasses was rude and said that there wasn't ANY fish that can't live without an oxygen tank. Which is a lie so he wasnt only being rude but also uninformed. "Bettas are widely known as fish that can live without an air pump. They have the unique capability of intake oxygen via bubbles that form from atmospheric air and float on the surfaces. They have wide colorful fins but they are very aggressive to other fish." -trusted source so yeah don't come here it's a waste of money and time you can find cheaper tanks with full set up elsewhere.

lots of blacklight lighting on the inside

We bought a small fish tank for the kids and this has been our local stop for fish and supplies. The kids love coming here because it's like a mini-aquarium visit with so much to see from colorful saltwater fish to bubbly-eyed freshwater goldfish. All of the fish are healthy and the tanks are cleaned and maintained well, I keep thinking of what I've seen at petsmart and this is a refreshing night and day difference. There is nice color-coding to tell you which fish are compatible with others with rating going from aggressive to peaceful community fishes, we followed this guide as well as the advice of staff and have had harmony in our tank. For those coming in summer and warm weather we always had the impression aquariums were cool but it gets hot in here with large fans buzzing to try to keep it cool.

Gio Marine is easily one of the best local fish stores I've been to. The moment you walk in, you…read morecan tell the tanks are well cared for and the livestock is healthy, vibrant, and properly maintained. That alone already sets them apart from a lot of other places. What really makes the difference is the level of knowledge and the way they approach helping customers. Instead of just trying to make a quick sale, they actually take the time to understand your setup and what you're trying to achieve. The advice feels genuine and experience-based, which is huge in a hobby where the wrong guidance can cost you time and money. Their selection of corals and fish is solid, and everything consistently looks like it's been handled with care. On top of that, their prices are very competitive--honestly better than most other places I've come across--which makes it even easier to keep coming back. It's clear they take pride in what they do, and that shows in both the quality of the store and the overall experience. Whether you're new to reefing or have an established tank, this is a place you can rely on for both livestock and guidance. Definitely a strong option if you're looking for a dependable and knowledgeable shop.

The only catch he told me was that he had a bad disposition and would get very agitated and try to bite anyone who got close to him. After allowing me to handle him till he calmed down a bit he offered to give him to me at no charge if I was willing to work with him. After going through some bonding exercises (and yes he did bite me once) he has come to settle down and now allows me to hold him and is adjusting well to his new home. The fact that I was given the bearded dragon only goes to show that the people at The Reptile Room really care about their animals and customers. I highly recommend The Reptile Room for service above and beyond!

I think they also host educational birthday parties and events too. They have beardies, sulcata tortoises, leopard geckos, uromastyx, some snakes and other geckos (gargoyle and crested I think), chameleons, and I think some water dragons near the exit. I thought it was neat that they had that large tower/pillar glass enclosure in the middle of their shop as well and a shop parrot too. I believe that most of their leopard geckos and pythons were in smaller enclosures/containers as they're for breeding/are breeders or something along those lines, but I'm hoping that they get time to stretch or get purchased to pet parents quickly. Overall not bad, I always love the opportunity to look at some cold blooded buddies, but I feel like this reptile shop is more of a community staple for reptile owners rather than somewhere an out of towner would make a must stop.

Update 3/12/2026: I…read morerecently bought a house in San Jose that came with a pond. Unfortunately the previous owner had passed away and left no instructions, so I had absolutely no idea where to start. I've never had a pond before and knew nothing about how to maintain one. I remember having a great experience with Aqua lab back in 2016 so I called them back up and Kent was incredibly helpful from the start. He took the time to walk me through everything and explain how the system works without ever making me feel dumb for asking very basic questions. We decided to do a one-time deep cleaning to restore the pond. Before the scheduled cleaning, Kent stopped by to check out the system and figure out what actually needed to be done. He ended up fixing a broken part, doing a full deep clean of the pond and the filter/skimmer, and adding beneficial water additives. Since I live about 3 hours away, he kept me updated throughout the process with photos and messages, which I really appreciated. He even left me some pond tools to use and offered to come back another time, at no extra charge, when I'm at the house so he can walk me through the system in person and show me how to do the regular monthly maintenance myself (or help with that if I decide I'd rather have him handle it). His pricing was very fair and actually came in lower than other local shops I contacted. Overall just a really great experience. I've attached before and after photos of the pond. Highly recommend Aqua Lab and working with Kent. What a great guy!

This review is describing my experience with everything pet bird related at this store: cage, food,…read moretoy selection; cleanliness and organization; and the worst part--that they sell birds. Not only do they sell birds, but they house the birds in a tiny, cramped, windowless room in tiny cages, with one fluorescent ceiling light and what appears to be no human interaction or fresh air or appropriate light. The room is about the size of my bedroom, and there are cages stacked to the ceiling full of birds, but the cages are tiny. Back when I didn't know any better in the '90s, I purchased two parrots from pet stores, as "hand-raised babies," but those stores had all the birds in appropriately sized cages with sunlight and lots of toys and out time with visitors if you sanitized your hands. They felt out the potential owners and didn't sell birds to just anyone. Now I know better, as I volunteer with a local parrot rescue that has to turn away hundreds of unwanted pet birds a year on top of the hundreds they take in. One of those volunteer duties is doing home visits for the adoption applicants, and one took me this week to near this store, and the applicant told me about it and showed me this terrible-looking seed mix they purchased there for pets. So I stopped by this store to see what/why they were selling, and the sad and crowded windowless bird-commodity room made me cry. I left in tears. I had first browsed the shelves for toys and food, and I found the shelves unorganized, out of stock on several items, and the floors dirty. Plus a cat running around. And the cages they were selling were all tiny as well. Here's something significant and equally emotional. Under "pets" on the front page of their website, they strongly encourage adopting from shelters for dogs and cats. SO WHY NOT BIRDS? Birds live longer, are more complicated, are often more intelligent and with more complex needs, and our rescues are overrun! WHY?!?! (Profit! And it's terrible.) This is their own words--why don't they believe this for birds??!! They should contact every rescue on the West Coast and find out how overrun we are. "We have in stock a selection of small pets which include birds, fish, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids. If you are looking for a pet kitty or pooch, we HIGHLY urge you to check out the local shelter where there are great animals looking for loving homes. Mike's Feed & Pets does not sell dogs or cats but we do have a complete line of products to help you care for them"
