I really love the quality of their plants and fish, especially the betta fish! I do have some minor issues with inconsistent hours (sometimes i show up and it's closed when they say they're open), website locked behind a paywall, and their display tanks have gone unkempt. love it tho! i go back often!

My family and I love Aqua Lab Aquaria! It's our local "fish store", but Kent and his family have SO MUCH more than just fish available to offer. We have stocked our fresh water aquarium's (x3 in total large and Betta's) with fish friends from them. All have been hearty and healthy. We also bought crabs, because our son was curious and we are crazy people apparently. They are awesome. Support your local retailers! Reading some of these comments, also understand the challenges of maintaining a business in this day and age. It's a labor of love most of the time and there's no shortage of passion here. Heading to buy another fish today.

Ordered several tanks (~$300). Never heard anything after a few days so I decided to reach out. Annie said there was an error on shipping and that it would be an additional $200 - $250 to complete order--why was this never communicated? Order didn't make sense at that point either, $300 becoming now a $550 order. Just terrible customer service and communications. Please do better. For the hobby and for your own sake.

i've always liked and now it is so cleaned up with supplies and fish tanks and looks fantastic. You've go by and meet Ginger.

You would think that after being somewhat local the order would at least come at a decent time. This is what $34 worth of plants gets you and even more so, one of them isn't even the correct plant. Package was leaking with brown Water and almost all of the plants were absolutely destroyed. After being a customer for so many years I am severely disappointed at what came in today. An absolute shame.

Alex's tank before Aqua Lab

Aqua Lab is an amazing store for aquascaping supplies, tools, plants, and equipment. I went there with my 9 year old godson Alex and his father to aquascape Alex's low tech tank, pictures attached in early February. The store gave us lots of inspiration with their display tanks, the staff was able to give us lots of information, and answer our questions. There was a large variety of plants for us to choose from that other stores just don't have. We purchased 6 different plants, 2 Wabi-Sabi stones, Kakako wood, and Manzanita wood for the aquascape. We also purchased Ultum Nature System all in one plant food fertilizer, kH test, and a gH test. Two months later the tank is thriving after some initial algae outbreaks and one plant death, which is due more to my thumb then anything else. We didn't change any equipment, and our tank is low tech, simple filter, heater, 10 gallons, Dwarf African Frogs, Neon Tetras, and snails. The frogs love the Nymphoides Hydrophylla 'Taiwan' which we haven't seen available else where. My godson Alex could not be happier or more proud of his tank and the advice and information we got from Aqua Lab, let alone that everything was available in one place for us to purchase has made this tank possible. 1st picture is of Alex's tank before Aqua Lab 2nd picture is Alex's new tank right after Aqua Lab 2/6 3rd picture is Alex's tank today, the Nymphoides Hydrophylla 'Taiwan' is doing so well we have clippings to go into the quarantine tank for when fish get sick. Final Note - regarding Covid-19 all employees were wearing masks correctly, so were customers, everyone was attempting to stay 6 feet apart, and taking turns in parts of the store were social distancing wasn't possible. It was a wonderful experience in that aspect.

Bad photo, great GSP colony from Aqua Lab Aquaria. Coral is happy and healthy

Have to buy a subscription to even view their website, or see what live fish they have for sale.

I am posting this as a cautionary experience…read more I ordered livestock from Violet Aquariums. The order arrived with a fish that was dead on arrival and a coral that arrived in extremely poor condition, with severe tissue recession, exposed skeleton, and a foul odor. Photos were provided immediately upon delivery in accordance with their stated DOA policy. The business refused to refund or replace the coral under any circumstances. For the DOA fish, they offered only store credit, which would have required me to pay approximately $50 in additional shipping to replace a $40 fish unless I placed a much larger new order, with no guarantee that any replacement would arrive viable. What was most concerning was the tone and content of their email responses when I requested a refund or replacement. In writing, they repeatedly characterized a lawful chargeback as "fraud" and made threats of retaliation and blacklisting, including statements such as "you want to commit fraud... chargeback in your case," "yes, we will ban you as fraud," "we will fight the chargeback," "you will run out of suppliers," and "we do not want them as our customers ever." Livestock losses happen. How a business responds matters. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others before ordering.

Some of them looked like they were struggling to swim and there was even a skeleton which indicates to me that the fish had been dead for a while. I've honestly never seen so many dead fish in tank in my life, even Petco and PetSmart seems better compared to this. Prices were also high, especially for shrimp. They were charging $15/caridina shrimp. Some of the tanks seemed to have mislabeled fish or seemed incredibly overstocked. I understand that they may view the tanks as temporary holding tanks but it was still quite a lot of fish in some small tanks. I would recommend checking out other fish stores in the area before heading over here.

I can not recommend this store enough!!!…read more Clear Water Aquarium is an amazing fish store with the most knowledgeable staff out there. I have been to various fishstores around the bay, but after finding this gem last year, I have been making the drive from Sonoma County ever since. Erik was the coolest guy ever and helped us out with so much. We found ways to decorate my boyfriend's 60 gallon that has his albino oscar, as well as some buddies for him. We are so happy with our purchases and can not thank Erik enough!!
