Do they sell pet (non feeder) inverts, like tarantulas, beetles or roaches?

Yes! They had tarantulas, jumping spiders, and scorpions when I was in there this past weekend. I do think their inventory of those changes pretty frequently.

It was a friendly crowd, and we got to hold some of these fascinating reptiles after signing a waiver and making a donation or paying a small fee. We also supported some of the reptile rescue organizations by buying merchandise, plus shopped for gifts at the vendor booths. Entry tickets were $15 each. Parking was also $15 (though we had the missus drop us and pick us up). There was food available - we shared super nachos ($15 again!), which were filling and delicious. Bathrooms were well maintained, and there was hand sanitizer everywhere! Will be back next year!

This is an annual event very similar to Reptile Realms (a different reptile fest that happens at…read moremultiple locations in and around the bay area throughout the year)... plenty of snakes, skinks, geckos, chameleons, and more on display or for sale, along with habitats and other reptile supplies, and reptile-related merchandise (like toys, stickers, and apparel). Also, photo ops for five bucks if you want to hold a snake, presentations and speakers at different times (educating and entertaining visitors both on and off stage), and a concessions stand selling burgers, hot dogs, salads, and nachos among other things, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (dining tables and seating were outdoors though, even with the cold of winter). A few things I saw here that I haven't seen much of at the other reptile fests are rats as pets (usually only see them sold as food for reptiles), bats (several different species, which was cool to see up close), beautiful carnivorous plants, spider homes (creatively and playfully decorated), and yellow shelled turtles (albino, I believe). We also saw a lot more turtles and tortoises here than expected, especially during the final hours of the last day of the event. We didn't find the specific soil we wanted for our tortoise at home, as they had run out by the end of the event. But the vendors were friendly and helpful, offering future discounts at their actual store, and teaching us about their products as well as the general recommendations for certain species. So we learned a lot while there, and didn't go home empty-handed. We puchased a 3D backdrop for our tortoise habitat... saw one of the tortoises at the show with this and just had to get our own... so now our tortoise lives in the desert :D Event parking sucked! I've never had a problem with the lots at Alameda County Fairgrounds (for different types of events), but this was the worst. At $15 per vehicle, the parking design for this event was nonsensical (and they blocked off certain areas to make sure you followed this nonsense), I saw many cars getting stuck in narrow dead ends while looking for parking, going in reverse or making 10-point turns, and obviously interrupting the flow of traffic. That being said, this was still a fun event, nothing really extraordinary, but worth checking out especially if you are into reptiles or looking for a new cold-blooded pet.

I usually shop at the store in Pleasanton but decided to stop by the Livermore store on the way home from work. Wow! What a pleasant surprise. This store is really nice. Very clean and organized. One of the Managers at the Livermore Store, Phil by name, ended up being VERY helpful to me in…read morefinding a transaction solution that worked both for me, the customer, and 'The Company'. I gotta say too that the policy restrictions on quantity volume purchases as are currently in-place and that were described to me are NOT customer-centric. If the amount if product is unavailable for that day's in-Store purchase in the requested pack size, the damn POLICY should include the Store Managers having the decision flexibility to be creative on how to still honor a "fourth bag free" if they do not have the four bags in stock. And this is not a one-off either... it happens probably 25% of the times that I go in and it gets frustrating indeed. The root problem is they keep precious little floor-stock inventory "on the floor" AND they are completely inflexible in finding a creative solution there in-store. This is a problem of their own making, clearly promulgated by Corporate Bean Counters ensconced in "just in-time" product delivery resulting in minimal inventory at store-level. So, this situation happened again yesterday where they only had one bag and I wanted to "buy three and get the fourth one free". Phil started out telling all the "corporate reasons" why he was unable to help me, that it is corporate policy dontcha know..? After some lively negotiating and conversation, Phil took it upon himself to find a way to make it work. And whilst it did require me to return to the store today, I am very pleased that Phil very kindly went to the Pleasanton store and brought the additional three bags so I could get this " fourth bag free". Thank you VERY MUCH, Phil! While I KNOW your Corporate policies suck, YOU yourself came up with a way to help me even though it also meant you had to make an extra stop on your way in to work today to help me get my "fourth bag free". Please accept my gratitude, Phil! And also PLEASE change these un-customer-centric policies. As a retail outlet, it seems to me your Corporate Overlords SHOULD BE making sure that business is done both for profit but also for the CONVENIENCE of your customer base. Hearing "It is our policy that...." and then being told how I cannot be assisted is VERY off-putting. Thank you again, Phil. You came through for me and I am super-appreciative, young man! Knowing it was my dog's very first groom , Anna was incredibly patient and showed kindness from the moment we arrived . She took the time to read my dog's comfort level , gave her space when needed , and never pushed any boundaries -- which meant everything to me as a nervous pet parent . My dog was a little anxious , but Anna had a calming presence that kept my dog at ease throughout the whole appointment . She was gentle , caring , and clearly took her time to make sure the experience was positive rather than rushed . You can tell Anna genuinely loves and respects the animals in her care . Anna also mentioned to me she wanted to reinforce positive experience with grooming so our groom took a bit longer (total time of 2.25 hours) We will absolutely be coming back and requesting Anna every time . Highly recommend !

I had to call at 3:30 PM just to check, and they said he was "almost ready." I didn't pick him up until 4pm. When I got there, there was NO haircut done, just a blow dry. You couldn't even see his eyes. I had clearly asked for a teddy bear cut, but they claimed they thought I didn't want a haircut, which I never said. I didn't realize I had to say "haircut" since I'm already paying for the service. I left and came back at 7 PM after they said they would fix it. There was a slight trim around his face and ears, but still no proper haircut and the sanitary trim (which is included in the $70 package) was not done. I was told manager Joe would call me and never got a call from him. I had to call a couple days later. I asked for a partial refund since the haircut wasn't completed and the assistant manager let me know that the manager refused, even when I offered to just pay for the bath and blowout. Paid for a full grooming and didn't receive it. Poor communication, long wait, incomplete service, and no accountability. Would not return.

My review is for a recent repeat delivery of dry dog food I give one star. I've had repeat delivery for a long time, over a year at least, and never ever had an issue. The instructions on the order are clearly stated to "leave at the front door" and that's what they've done. Yesterday, I received a phone call while on the other line. It was Doordash driver Marissa regarding my delivery. She said she was on her way but needed specific instructions where to leave my items and to please call her back. She did not leave a number and the Doordash number I tried to return immediately did not accept calls. Her message said she would be there around 12:29 pm so I started watching for her around 12:26 pm. I saw a car pull up in front of the neighbors house at that time and waited to see if anyone got out and I would greet them. The car stayed parked there until 12:35 pm and then just did a u-turn and pulled away and then immediately received a message my order was undeliverable and being returned to the store. She was literally here, and did not attempt to even knock on my door or call again before leaving. I understand this is a Doordash issue, but I did not order Doordash to deliver my dog food, Petco did. I called Petco as soon as I got the message it was being returned and a nice young man answered. He said it's delivered by Doordash and if I had issues I had to call them myself. Not cool. They arranged the delivery, they should fix the issue. I did call Doordash and as expected, they were confused because they were looking at my personal account, not from Petco. After a long while, they finally tracked the delivery from Petco and then said it had to have a signature because it was alcohol. No, it's dog food. Next response was it needed a signature due to price. Back and forth. Forty minutes later Doordash wants to reschedule but I have to be home to sign. I was late to an appointment and that didn't work. Ridiculous I had to spend 40 min on the phone with Doordash and Petco doesn't follow through to correct and issue themselves. Problem solved - canceled Repeat Delivery and using Amazon that will leave the items at my door. Done with Petco. If a company won't solve their own issues when something goes wrong, I will shop elsewhere.
