She said her name Is lili but I think she lied to me but from other reviews it seems like her name is Linda. My nails look so terrible! She did them so thick and so crooked I was so angry.. She refused to give me her manager or her bosses number and she kicked me out the nail salon. Still Charged me 26 dollars. I cut my lip because she didn't even shape them they were so sharp. I've been taking my dad here to get a manicure and pedicure every other month. Every time we've gone, the owner (I believe), has always been very pleasant to my dad and makes him feel at ease. Generally, he's the only male there getting their nails done. She soaks his feet for an extended period of time, as he really likes that part. If she has another client there, she'll ask if he minds an extended soak so she can tend to her client. Since we're never in a hurry, of course he wants it. Afterwards, he always says how great his feet feel and is eager to walk around with his fresh feet. read more

I have seen the owner Linda reuse the plastic sanitizer protective water bags that were already used by another customer in the pedicure station. I brought this to the attention of Tina, who works for Linda, but Linda is continuing with his unhealthy and unsanitary practice. I've also, observed, that their tools for manicures and other services are not often sterilized between customers. I've stopped going to Castle Nails for these reasons. Linda is annoying, with her many calls. When I call for an appointment (it's like playing verbal Karate with her) - she can never except my schedule, she always asked if I could come earlier or later, Or she always calls me back and ask if I could accommodate her schedule and she gets upset if I can't change my schedule for her. She's rude, her products are old and her waxing skills are questionable. There are no paper towels or cloth towels that are used while manicuring. She uses old magazines to manicure your hands on, and tears off the magazine pages with the nail filings and throws them away when finish. (Strange and cheap). No I will not return to this place. read more

OK first of all let me start by saying that the women are very nice just like all the other reviews state, they are nice and friendly but this is not the place you want to go if you want to have your nails look nice or a nice relaxing pedicure. I do not live here just here on business it had been three weeks since my nails were done and they looked bad, I needed a fill and a pedi. I wanted to cry the whites were longer than the pink, they flared out at the ends my nails looked like boat oars. As for the relaxing pedi, no pedi chair no relaxing food soak. It was a little spa bucket like you get at Walgreens. Big letdown. You would think for the off set in what they offer the prices would be a little cheaper too, NOT so. I paid $61.00 for this. Castle Nails is not someplace I would recommend, not even on a Sunday, not even to run in because you broke a nail because it is not going to match up the rest of your hand. I love this shop & would not trust any other shop around. Been going to this nail shop for over 10 years. If you are looking for a fancy setting this is not the shop for you but if you are searching for a place that is simple and gets the job done then Castle Nails is for you. Clean, affordable, safe, & great people who work there. Hint: make an appointment they can get busy. Update: was in the shop yesterday when there was an incident. A customer was in for a manicure & pedicure. She was a difficult customer but never once spoke of any dissatisfaction until she was done then said she would not pay because she all of a sudden was disappointed in the work done. When Linda said she should at least pay for the pedicure she threatened to call the police. Then proceeded to sneak out without paying or waiting for the police she threatened to call. All she wanted was a free appointment. If you are not happy let them know and at least tip for the job. Don't threaten to call police and sneak away like a theft in the night. Had been coming here for the last 2-3 years, was happy with the service until a recent negative encounter with this place. Historically, I have arrived for my appointments at this place always on time, never late, always arrived early. The pedicurist (Tina) is fabulous. The owner (Linda) *was* very nice and accommodating until recently. I have always shown up on time for my appointments and never encountered any issues. The owner, Linda, has sometimes asked me in the last 2-3 years if I could reschedule my scheduled appointments to accommodate another customer and I always said no problem, I can come in at a different time that day. I was always flexible (looking back in hindsight, what client would give up their scheduled appointment time and be asked to come in by the nail parlor at a different time--this now appalls me because me being a nice person now realized that this was not cool/appropriate practice and saw that this nail salon was not considerate of client's time/schedule--which meant that someone else who needed my scheduled time slot was more important than me and my scheduled time slot). Ugh. So I had a scheduled appointment at 10:00 AM--I was running late and lost cell phone signal for 15 minutes. When the cell signal was restored, I called Linda and said I was running late. Linda *yelled* at me, pulled a "guilt trip" on me, telling me that I should have called if I was running late and she had a customer waiting, and she was waiting to hear back from me and "she felt bad that she had to make the customer wait". Seriously. Linda said she was upset that I did not show up for my appointment--I apologized and told her I tried to call her but had no cell phone service. Linda rescheduled my appointment 45 minutes after my original appointment time that morning, and when I showed up (11 AM), the shop was empty/devoid of customers!! Needless to say, I was royally pissed off. But I was quiet. I had nails done, paid/tipped Tina and walked out. I did not deserve to be yelled at then made to feel guilty and then find out that after I arrived at the nail shop that it was empty/devoid of clients (I was the only client there). NOT good customer service. NOT good experience. NOT going back. Would NOT recommend this place AT ALL. In my opinion, the owner ultimately showed me that she does NOT appreciate loyal customers. Moving forward, I have decided to take my business elsewhere and have found a new place who appreciates their clients. read more

Great place for manicures and pedicures. Have been going there for years. I went today after 3 months. They greeted me with sanitizer and politely asked me to wash my hands. Then went into what I call "the bubble". They have isolated the manicure/pedicure stations with a shower like contraption that made me feel safer. My feet and hands feel rejuvenated, after the manicure/pedicure and wax treatment on my hands and feet. Thank you Linda and Tina! read more

I answered I thought it was my boss and she was yelling and I hang up .. then she called back .. my hubby said who was that so I put her on speaker phone .. my daughter was present at the moment .. she didn't cuss or anything but still yelling that "I am rude , nasty attitude ,I'm awful because I wrote the earlier review and she would tell on me on my uncle and it's my fault because I came EARLY ( I WAS JUST ASKING HER WHAT TIME SHE'LL BE DONE UNTIL I FELT THE BADVIBE) and that I CAN GO TO JAIL BECAUSE OF WHAT I WROTE BASICALLY, SHE WAS THREATENING ME AND OBVIOUSLY HARRASSING ME TODAY ON THE PHONE" for my conclusion she really wanted to fight me because she chose not to view her phone number it says Private caller right ? Nail Fail #1 Okay, since I first moved to Sierra Madre I have been on the hunt for a nail salon to frequent that is closer to where I live... this was my first shot and I was disappointed with the quality of the paint job. The polish on my toes was really gloppy and smudged easily, taking forever to dry. I feel guilty writing this since every single employee was very sweet and I really wanted to like them. I brought my sis and she got a manicure while I got a mani/pedi combo. I would have given them another chance figuring that only the two working on me were not so great and maybe some other woman would have been better, the reason I didn't was that my sis was disappointed that her manicure was sloppy as well. I did manage to score a cute, 5 dollar pair of black sandals though, poor castle nails, the women were so nice and spoke more english than employees at most places. Give them a shot if you want, prices are reasonable and maybe you will have a better experience than I did. read more

Linda and Helen is great. Nice and super attentive to their customers. Don't believe what JG says in the other post. She's just out looking for a free service. I was in shop when it happen. Like the other post says, she didn't say anything while they're working on her, but at the end, didn't want to pay. She threaten to call the police, went out to make a call and never came back. That's what the restaurant call "dine and dash". I know if I didn't like a service, I would tell them right away so they can fix it. I've never had a problem here. I came here because a friend said I could get an $11 pedicure and it was a sad, broke, birthday for me. So I jumped at the thought of an $11 pedicure! The pedicure was $14 plus $1 fee for using the debit card. Still cheap compared my usual spot. However, you do get what you pay for. Just your average small, oddly smelled, carpeted nail place where the ladies speak in a language you don't understand and they're watching talk shows on the television. Nothing special. I DID like that they don't have those big pedicure massage chairs since I don't like those (I'm a germa-phobe). They used the classic foot soak with the plastic wrap over it. But if you want the massage chair, do not come here. They don't use brand new tools but said they "sterilize" it. I didn't love that, like I said I have a thing with germs and pedicures so I like brand new tools each time. But again, you get what you pay for. I had an excellent pink and white fill from Linda. I liked that she saw my prior manicure/ fill was horrid (see nail trix, yuck!) and asked my name and used it, it was endearing. She did a great job, made sure I was happy with her work before she finished up. She was gentle and thorough. Linda spoke English well and made me feel comfortable and it was a very nice experience. Linda does acrylic nails horribly(left my nails with bumps and uneven), is really pushy in trying to get you to get other services like eybrows, and was really rude to me today when i left her a tip. She snatched it and didnt say thankyou. She charges a dollar when you want to use a credit or debit card even if you spend a lot. Bottom line she is rude and pushy! Exactly what the 2 stars represent: MEH I usually get my nails done near work in Encino. Desperately needing a new mani, I searched for an alternative near home (pasadena). In case you don't know, Pasadena is a city filled with many OVER-PRICED (no really, caps necessary) nail salons...for no good damn reason. Not wanting to pay more than 15$ for a simple mani at an unknown place, I found Castle nails on the eastern side of Colorado. I'm not gonna lie, the $9-priced manicured lured me in. They took me right away after a quick phone call. Once I arrived, first thing the lady assigned to my nails proclaims (she seemed to be the manager; Linda) "Saraaaah are you getting your eyebrows done today?" She says while staring at my eyebrows and pointing at her own penciled & scrawny ones. She was a little pushy after my initial "no thank you". UGH, I don't know about you guys, but that is one of my biggest pet peeves. I know she's trying to monetize her business with all the wonderful amenities they have, but don't make me feel like I NEED my eyebrows done. Maybe you'll hit the insecurity nerve with some girls, however with me, you just are just pissing me off. As a matter of fact Linda, I like my eyebrows thick, just like Brook Shields, so please for the love of God just paint my nails pink! I politely declined, picked my neon pink nail polish (PS - no beloved OPI here) and got the manicure started. She was fairly quick which is not a bad thing, but rushed through the hand massage. Seriously, I think i got 45 seconds on each hand. There wasn't many people in the salon, so I know she could have spent more time on it. She applied the colors coats decently and it dried pretty fast (that is a plus!) No one likes waiting for their nails to dry. To make a long story short (#fail)... my nails started chipping literally less than 48 hours later. I guess it was okay because I really needed the manicure. However, I'll always choose my usual nail place over this one. read more

Decided to come here with a friend when we spontaneously decided to get pedicures on a Sunday afternoon and drove along Colorado Blvd. to find a nail place. The space is cramped and hot, and feels old. I got a regular pedicure, but for some reason two employees worked on me and there was a long waiting period in between. It also hurt a bit at one point. There were a few people waiting after me, so as soon as my nails were done, I was asked to move to a spot near the entrance so my nails could dry. Another employee tried to move the drying machine to a spot that was easily reachable for my feet, but the machine's cord was too short, so some awkward moving around had to happen. The good thing is, the color I chose (a bright, summery blue) was one of the best toenail colors I've had, and lasted awhile. read more

This is your friendly neighborhood, open on Sunday nail salon. First, walk-ins are welcome. Second, if you use your credit card here, you will be charged a $1.00 service fee...not unreasonable. There are signs posted in the salon so do not assume based on previous reviews posted they are charging you extra as a tip for the shop. They are not. I have my nails done here on a regular basis and never make an appointment. But, you can if you wish. I am very happy and pleased every single time with my nails. Both Linda and Helen do an exceptional job for me. I came to therm with BIG problems from another salon, and they fixed all my damaged nails. Additionally, both Linda and Helen speak English. I understand them just fine. So, do not get misled by a couple of unhappy customers who shop- hop, look for free services then bash unsuspecting businesses. I assure you, you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality you receive at Castle Nails. I was. And, I am a satisfied and returning customer. Best place ever. Been coming every 2 weeks for at least the last 10 years. Linda, Van, and Tina work on me, my mom, AND my daughter and we always leave feeling refreshed, fingers and toes perfectly polished. I've had acrylics (best ever pink and white), mani, pedi, waxing, and now my new favorite - gel polish. I'm super picky but they make sure I'm 100% happy. Pricing is reasonable.
