So I don't usually like writing poor reviews, but for a $95 mani, I think some improvements are needed. First off, I wanted a glass nail effect since it's been trending. What I got was 6 layers of uneven polish and poorly placed gel x extensions. The extensions themselves don't reach the base of my cuticle (which wasn't trimmed at all) and one of the extensions even overlaps the side of my finger that meets the nail. I asked my tech to fix it at one point which she only kind of did with a little polishing. I just got them done but it's as if my nails have been growing out for 2 weeks. Now I was ready to accept this and move on cause my nails grow fast anyways. My real problem with this place is the fact that I kept trying to explain how to achieve the glass nail effect by waving the magnet around the edges instead of holding it in the center, but was met with resistance and arguments about how I said I didn't want a "line" (referring to the sharp line you get from a cat eye) on my nails when I first sat down. Honestly I think my tech just didn't understand what I was trying to tell her. Eventually I got tired of trying to explain myself and accepted that I was leaving with the thickest set of nails I've ever had. Not to mention one of the crooked extensions feels like it's squeezing my nail and there's a ton of gel that has seeped under my natural nails which I'm probably going to have to pay extra to get fixed :'( Even if you're not following current nail trends this kind of stuff is unacceptable. Judging from the reviews I think issues arise when you ask for anything other than a basic mani. I think if that's all you're looking for then it shouldn't be an issue. I called for a last minute appointment on New Year's Eve when every other place I usually go to was booked and they were able to get me in right away so that was a plus (and also probably a red flag). That said if I do go back I'll probably get something really basic, but chances are low. read more

I wasn't going to write a review because this is only my second time at this establishment and I wanted to be understanding of a busy day. However, after reading a couple reviews, it's obvious this was not a one time occurrence. The owner is rude. She was rude to me the first time I walked in. I still received my service but she was basically checking if I was okay with paying fifty dollars for a gel pedicure. I tipped my technician 20 on top of the 50 dollar pedicure leaving having paid 70 bucks. Although high prices, I'm always happy to over tip anyone in the service industry. Today, I was a walk-in again and she basically shooed me out the door saying "all the techs are working and they won't be done for long time." By the time I left jumped in my Jeep and drove away two customers were paying. Just give a timeframe and let the customer decide if they are willing to wait. I hate giving negative reviews so I want to start off by saying typically I would rate this place a 4. This isn't a salon you go to when you want a trendy manicure with a cool design, this is where you go when you have an hour to get a basic gel mani and regular pedi before you need to pick up your kids. I've been coming here for a few years now and the place is always clean, they have great massage chairs and parking is a breeze. The owner is also great at helping pick the right color when you want your fingers and toes to match. This review however is based on my last two visits (but mainly the most recent). I usually get a simple red, bright pink or lime green gel mani with my nails cut short but since I am the matron of honor in a wedding this weekend I wanted something nicer. I asked for almond shaped tips on my nails with an ombré dip (a service and design they offered so this is not me picking something out of the blue). After spending 2 1/2 hours, $125 for the mani/pedi and $35 in tips I walked out of there with such a bad manicure. The woman assigned to do my fingernails was not familiar with dip nails and a few times had to ask the woman next to her for help. As you can see in the photos my nails are really thick, not almond shaped, the ombré is barely visible and just overall looks nothing like what I asked for. As for my pedicure this is second time the person doing my nails files into my skin, cuts me and makes me bleed. The last time it was a different nail tech and she did it to my finger. I wish they paid more attention but I think the nail techs zone out or get distracted. Not sure if i'll go back but if I do I'll stick to my regular gel mani / reg pedi because anything aside from that is beyond their skill level. I have tried giving this place multiple chances but sadly they disappoint me every time. I got my nails done about a week ago and they started chipping within the next day or so. The lady was in such a rush that she was leaving my nails all uneven. I got a french tip and as you can tell on my picture that they are uneven. I kept asking her to fix it during my appointment but at some point she stopped fixing them. They were left pointy and uneven, for 80+ dollars it really wasn't worth it! Before this happened i came here couple of months ago and asked for an ombré look on my nails and they were the ugliest nails I've ever had done on me. I had called couple of hours after i had left because I was really unhappy with them and I also paid 90 dollars. The manager told me to come back the next day and when I went back the lady who was doing my nails didn't want to do french tip on me so I ended up getting all nude nails. But the entire time I was there I was in tears because I couldn't believe that they didn't want to do what I was requesting and paying for. I made an appointment same day, on a Sunday and was squeezed in. My usual nail spot in Highland Park was booked and I found Nail Lounge on yelp. With good reviews, I decided to come in. The staff was friendly, helpful, and the salon was clean. I came in with a friend and they did a great job on our manis and pedis. This was my first time here at Nail Lounge and I'm happy there's a salon close to home that I can trust. They offer a wide variety of polishes by OPI, Orely, Essie and more. They keep popular colors in stock and they take their time pampering your hands and feet. I had a great experience! They're located in the same plaza as Bristol Farms and we had no trouble finding parking. If you're planning on coming in on a Sunday near 6, I'd call to see if there's availability before walking in. I'm so glad we made an appointment and the girls were able to see us at 4:45. Tina is meticulous and thorough, carefully tending to every millimeter of each toe, even in between, while also scraping the soles and hot-stone-massaging the legs below the knees. South Pasadena is a bit of a drive, and Pasadena Freeway traffic is always a hassle, but her treatment is absolutely worth it--just once in every 4 to 6 weeks makes a world of difference! I've been coming here for years, driving from LA to Pasadena, and the quality of the work has declined. I would recommend them for gel or powder on your nail but not if you're looking to get full set with tip extension. My nails were chunky and crooked and the nail tech acted caught off guard when I requested a French tip even when I made that information known when I booked the appointment. After I said I wanted a French tip, the vibe completely changed and it was very awkward and she stopped speaking to me and only spoke to the other nail tech next to her. For $80 it was definitely not worth it and I will not be back. read more

I went to this nail salon on a Monday evening, a few days before I made the appt., I had asked the owner/manager to give me an estimate for Gel manicure with French tip, regular pedicure and eyebrow threading. The owner replied with $43 for the mani and pedi and $15 for eyebrows threading OR waxing! I attended the appt, found out that they only do brow waxing, no threading (not sure why she would quote threading as an option!), and was charged $85 total instead. A lady (who claimed not to be the owner, but was fully in charge) explained that they had quoted me incorrectly, it should have been $40 for gel mani and $30 for REGULAR pedicure! When I asked to break a twenty for change, she insisted twice to give me $5 bills for change instead of singles, so I could tip either $5 or $10 to each technician! The service overall was ok, not extraordinary, just like any other salons. My gel manicure started chipping after day 4, and regular pedi chipped on Day 2...not impressed. My assessment of this salon: not honest, they would quote you inexpensively to lure you in as a customer and then charge you what they did not disclose. Quality - not impressed, i wished the gel mani would last longer than a week. Overall disappointed. And till this day, I still could not figure out how the math of $43 worked, the owner apologized via yelp message that she thought I was asking for regular mani and pedi, but regular mani costs $18 and regular pedi $30, on top of that, French tip cost another $10, how did that tally up to $43 is still a myth for me! read more

The massage chairs are in good condition and they give you a pillow to rest your hands on. I've come here a few times now, 2-4 weeks apart and each time has been really wonderful. Ive gotten gel manis and a regular pedi. I've had a different technician each time and they've all done a great job. I also really appreciate Sharon started taking care of me when they were busy too. She also is always really helpful with picking a color based on my vague descriptions of what I want. The ladies have been very gentle (esp my cuticles, no bleeding!) and do a great job shaping to what I like. I make appts over the phone and they have always been really accommodating, even last minute, as long as I call ahead. I got a regular mani and spa pedi. The pedicure was good and I really liked the leg massage but the technician didn't take my old regular, not gel, nail polish completely off. I still have patches of my old nail polish on most of my toes. I'd post a picture but my nails are a little discolored from the polish. My manicure was mediocre at best. I didn't get any polish or buff at all and just asked for a simple cleanup. My cuticles look awful and raggedy and my nails aren't filed straight across. The most basic details weren't done right. You can see in the photos how obviously bad they are and chunks of my cuticles are missing. That's one day after getting them done so after washing my hair and washing my hands in a normal day they looked worse. A couple nails were already bent at the tips though fyi. read more

Joy did my pedicure & Alice did my nails dip SNS. Both women were personable and paid good detail to how I wanted my nails & feet. The bad: I asked about the price for my nails before getting started the owner never informed me. Owner seemed annoyed before I paid, which seemed weird to me. Getting dip had to be about $60 which I think is ridiculously steep! My total was $90 + my $10 tip for each technician ($110 total). It's definitely one of the nicer nail places -- GASP, it actually looks like a clean-ish nail joint! -- in Pas but it's also pricey for what it is. Two weeks ago, I got my a gel w design on all ten fingers at another place in LA and it ran me a solid 30 + tip. THis place does a basic gel mani at $30 and an additional 5$ to remove the old polish. The standard massage chair pedi costs 30 here as well. Most spa pedis are about 20$ so not sure what the markup is all about. If i felt desperate on a Sunday afternoon again, I'd be back since it's open into the evenings when other local shops are closing up but probably won't go out of my way to pay these prices. They did a good job though but everything I did that day was literally bare basics and I ended up walking out having paid 75, which included the tip. Everyone was friendly and I was able to get a last minute appointment. Both the girls that did my nails were very gentle, none of that crazy deep scraping that many manicurists do when trying to remove gel. Located in Bristol lot so there's a private lot, just don't come during lunch time! There are a couple of other local places that will accomplish the very same thing for about 45-50+ tip. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE. I called in & made an appointment for a gel mani & pedi. As soon as I entered, the lady which might've been the owner gave off a rude vibe. I checked in & she immediately took my temperature in an aggressive manner. I understand the circumstances we're in during this time with extra precautions, however she could have been nicer about it instead of making me feel like she was going to poke an eye out. She then said with a rude tone of voice "Wash your hands, dry, put gloves on and sit over there." She had this attitude about her which made my whole experience very uncomfortable. I sat down & was given colors to choose from & felt in a rush because she was just awkwardly standing there waiting for me to give the palette back to her. She then proceeded to hand me a clip board with paperwork to sign & acknowledge COVID-19 procedures. The technicians immediately started working on my mani & pedi. Usually I am given options as to what kind of pedicure/services I'd like however, I was not offered a menu or anything. Mind you, I came in with the intention of spending whatever it took on services that I have not had in a while as this is one of my favorite ways to relax & pamper myself. I caught the lady giving me dirty looks the whole time which was extremely uncomfortable. As I was being serviced, four white women walked in & were warmly greeted by the SAME lady. She then let them know she was going to take their temperature & kindly asked them to wash their hands. The lady then asked them what kind of pedicure and other services they wanted & took the time to explain what was included. I sat there completely uncomfortable as I watched and listened how those women were being treated. My technicians seemed as if they were in a rush to finish with me to assist the group of women. Why weren't they asked to fill out COVID-19 questionnaire? Why were they offered other services & I wasn't? At that point I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. Overall, I will not be coming back to this place. I did not feel like I was welcomed. Instead I felt stressed, rushed & like I was being treated unfairly. I was done in under 30min. I paid $80 for a BASIC manicure and pedicure. I work in customer service and the most important part of the interaction is the GREET. It's important for customers to be properly greeted as soon as they walk in the door as it sets a tone for the entire interaction.
