We loved our stay here. They had a convenient store upfront. It's nested in the perfect location to get to Lake Louise and Moraine lake. It's 5 minutes from Johnston Canyon hike. The kitchen in our chalet/cabin was fully stocked for us to cook. My only complaint would be the train that you can hear running by every so often, so wear ear plugs at night if you're a light sleeper. Aside from that we enjoyed our stay!..

The last time we visited this area we stayed in Banff, which made for a long drive to see all of the Icefields Parkway and Lake Louise. This time around, we wanted to stay somewhat closer to the Lake Louise area but also close to Banff. Castle Mountain Chalets has the perfect location, as it is right inbetween Banff and Lake Louise. We stayed in a Cedar chalet (#11). Very comfortable, clean, and quaint cabin. Although our cabin was closest to the store/registration cabin, we never heard any noise from cars or other cabin dwellers. The store provides a wide assortment of items-- food, alcohol, first aid items, batteries, etc. The only issue I had with Castle Mountain Chalets is it is close to the rail line so you will hear trains going by at night. I didn't mind too much, but it may be an issue for light sleepers. NOTE- be sure to check in before 9 PM. The registration cabin is not manned 24/7.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! my hubby is very particular. He was really impressed with the place. 2 nights is not enough, if you want a very relaxing time, very tranquil, quiet, homey, cozy....thats your place. the map it shows is wrong though. you have to go through banff, drive thru til bow valley parkway, pass johnston canyon, and when you see a gas pump...you are there! everyone is so friendly, yes there are some little things that need fixing, however the whole experience tramps it. we booked a 1 bedroom deluxe, we got chalet #4...close to the convenience store which is also where you check in. in the middle they got a big cabin building where all the other amenities are, like their house keeping area, computer, game area. the convenience store surprised me, they have variety of things in there. we went there for our mini-honey-moon and he is already talking about going back there for our anniversary. Dogs are allowed in the cabins, we both really appreciate them for allowing our baby in there. also, when it was check-out time, i saw them cleaning other cabins and they have all the works, they got every cleaning supply in the wheel barrow/ golf cart, which i find very professional, because you know that when the next guest's check-in will come into a very clean cabin. if there is room for improvement, maybe the shower head. Some might think the price is expensive, even when I booked it, however at the end of it all, it is worth it. for a mini-holiday, i would say its NOT bad at all $$ wise. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU WANT TO RELAX AND GET AWAY FROM THE CITY.

I was on my way to the Banff Gondola when I stopped here. The hot springs are also located nearby. The original hotel opened in 1888 and has gone through several major renovations and expansions since then. Even if you are not staying here, you have to check this place out. I mostly walked around the outside of the hotel and in the main lobby. Fairmont Banff Springs has two main accommodation areas - the Gatehouse and the historic Main Building. It has a Châteauesque design to it. I love how the hotel stands out within the surrounding Valley. I could even see it from Sulphur Mountain when I rode the gondola to the top. The Banff Springs Hotel has over seven hundred guest rooms and several event spaces. This hotel is worth seeing in person for its size and stunning architecture if you are in the area.

They also have a sauna outside too. They offer free S'mores every day for happy hour, and supplies so you can roast your marshmallows by the fire pit outside. Lots of seating outside and I really enjoyed sitting outside and reading. They also offer board games to play and have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, so many options of where you can be. They have a full bar with a nice selection. Delicious happy hour wine deals! I love their red wines. The food is really good here too. They have a really nice breakfast buffet and it's included with your room. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, yogurt, juices, pastries, and more. The bar serves snacks and other food throughout the day and evening. I really enjoyed their charcuterie board. So fresh and delicious. Our room/suite was very spacious. Two queen beds and a living room area with a sofa and fire place. The beds were pretty comfortable but not amazing. We had a microwave and refrigerator, and I loved the espresso machine. We also had a dining table. The bathroom had lovely shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from a local company. My only suggestion is that I wish we had more storage options to unpack our clothes. There were some hangers to hang a few items and there was 1 drawer in the nightstand. I wish we had a dresser. Excellent and friendly staff. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. I would definitely stay here again.

The outlets are also easily accessible. The bathroom is a decent size. There's a clothesline in the shower you can use if needed. I like how the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and hand soap were from a 1% for the planet brand. There's a shuttle to downtown and back. Pick up and drop off is always at IGA which is easy to find. You just need to call or let the front desk know when you need the shuttle. I needed post cards to go out and was able to leave them with the front desk. If they get your outgoing mail during the week then it will go out the following week. Rooms were super clean (which is really the main thing I worry about with travel), and RIDICULOUSLY quiet, especially for being a couple shakes away from main street. Seriously, I forgot we even had neighbours. Not a peep of noise all night (on a friday, at that!). Our only real (and small) gripe was the temperature. Despite fiddling with the room heating, it was always just a little chilly. But we had a tall roof, a big window, and perhaps not the best "fiddling" knowledge.
