One turned out to be a broker although the salesman represented otherwise. The other gave us a quote that was ridiculously low. We just knew that at delivery there was going to be a problem. We were going to do the move ourselves via U-Haul. We were then referred to Moyer. From the very beginning we were impressed by their professionalism. Honest price estimate. Honest on delivery and pickup scheduling. Honest about where/how we could save money. Our items were delivered w/o issue. Nothing lost. Nothing broken. Our driver was in constant communication with us as to when he would be arriving at both our old and new homes. The office was a bit out of sync but the driver kept us in the loop... and he was spot on. If you're looking to contract for a stress free (or less stress) mover, Moyer is about the closest you're going to get. Everyone at Moyer was helpful and cheerful. These guys know their stuff.

Chris and his crew (4 people altogether) showed up when they told us they would be there, between 8-9am, showing up at 8:15. Right away, they were wrapping furniture and delicate items and being very careful with everything. They took apart items that could be taken apart, and moved a bunch of really heavy items without complaint. The last time we moved, another company tried to talk us into getting rid of our treadmill and other heavy items, but Chris and the crew just rolled right along with it. The move went great, we tried to keep the guys hydrated and they kept working all day until after 5 pm and still, not so much as a single complaint from one of them. Overall, all our furniture arrived undamaged and put in the right place and guys even had to move some furniture from one room to another (my mistake, miscommunication between me and my wife, who was at our old house) and still they just kept working. Chris is a real pro, a hard worker, very personable, great communication skills and he kept the move on track. When we were accepting bids I was almost passed on theirs because they were cheaper than all the other companies, but we took the chance and we're glad we did because Nation Capital did an outstanding job and we would use them in a heartbeat.

Justin was great in working with me to schedule things and get everything ready -- I ended up having to change my date because of winter weather back in IL and it wasn't an issue at all. The crew that came to pick up my stuff in DC was incredibly kind and fast -- Miguel was the head guy for their team and was very cordial. They came, wrapped things up, and packed it into the truck in just about 2 hours. Due to COVID-19 and them being super busy, my stuff was delayed in being delivered to IL but because of that I was discounted $200 which I was more than happy to comply with. Because it was delayed, I was unable to accept the move and they were okay with having my mom be there to accept it and gave me a secure link to pay for it online which was awesome. The only thing I'd note was that I missed the part that I had to pay half of the move in-person when my stuff was picked up via cash/money order so I ended up paying with card and that was an added 5% to the total of the half. It was probably in the paperwork but I just missed it -- so just something to note and keep in mind. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this company and would personally use them again.

We signed a paper contract when they dropped off the unit, although I don't really remember signing a contract. But then 3.5 years later, they sent us a digital contract and asked us to sign it. But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.

They wrapped his things up and provided furniture covers before putting his things into the truck. We met them at his storage unit and when we thought the storage unit would be too small, they looked it over and said they could fit everything. They meticulously maneuvered everything into our unit and got it all to fit! Because of this, they saved us from having to pay more money for a larger unit. We honestly had a good experience from start to finish and are greatly appreciative for their assistance. Plus, their pricing was incredibly reasonable. We will definitely be using them again.

While the crew arrived on time, there were only three movers instead of the four that were expected. I was then charged an additional $120 for an extra hour. One of the movers openly admitted that he had been out all night and was exhausted, which was evident in his performance throughout the move. The most frustrating part is that I moved into a brand-new construction home, and the movers caused significant damage. They put holes in my walls and scratched my stairs. I understand that minor scuffs can happen during a move, but these were deep gashes and holes that require repair. Before the crew left, I brought the damage to the attention of the lead mover. He told me not to worry and said I could file a claim using the claim number on my receipt. Since then, I have called multiple times and have not received a single callback. The only person I have been able to reach says she is in sales and cannot help me. No one has contacted me, and no repairs have been made. The lack of accountability and customer service has been extremely disappointing. There were a couple of lapses. They left one bathroom completely untouched. Didn't pack or move the contents! Forgot some things in the shed. And in the afternoon of moving day they left boxes on the wrong floor. Things that were labeled Basement Den were upstairs and vs vs. They came back from lunch smelling of weed... I think that explains it. Overall I was satisfied but if I were hiring them again I would be sure to supervise more closely.

The owner called me the day of the move and said they were down a guy, and I told him it is not my responsibility that there were fewer movers, and that I hoped I would not be charged extra for that inconvenience. The owner agreed. However, when it came down to the final payment, I was charged double the estimate.
