I had a pretty simple lease for a month. I was moving to the area and instead of paying a moving company $3k to move all of my stuff, I rented out a unit for less than $40 total, made weekly trips to fill up the storage unit, then closed out my account a couple of days before I would have been charged for the second month of rent. On my apartment move-in date, I hired a moving company for less than $1k to move my items from my storage unit to my new apartment. I saved quite a bit of money utilizing Self Storage Plus. Yvonne was very helpful throughout the process. She was very clear on the hours that the office and storage unit were open, what not to store in the unit, how to contact the office, and how to properly close out my storage account. On the day I moved out of my storage unit, I called her from the wall phone button near my storage unit, and she said she'd inspect it soon. A couple of hours later I received the receipt confirming that I've successfully moved out and ended my lease. I initially rented a unit on 03/14/26. The manager was personable, knowledgeable, explained everything about the facility in detail, and showed me the facility units. The storage facility is clean, bright, modern, climate-controlled, secure, well-kept and well-managed - everything one would hope for In storing their belongings. The initial unit monthly price is fair/competitive for the Kensington/Rockville area, but I am concerned about the floating rate increases after six months. It would be nice to lock in a set rate for at least one year. As I understand, there is no cap on rate hikes or the frequency of hikes In Montgomery County (MC). This seems to be a new trend in storage unit facility management where a corporate third party oversees pricing for a storage facility by using a computer algorithm. Many different major local storage companies have subscribed to this third-party practice in MC. For a consumer, it is difficult, impractical, unnerving, and seems unfair in trying to manage one's storage/moving costs in one's budget with these price increase unknowns. Before moving one's belongings into any storage facility unit, one should consider the length of time the unit will be needed, the possibility of unlimited rate hikes in planning their budget, and future moving costs. I rate this facility FIVE (5) STARS because they earned the rating at my point of sale. read more

This place close two days a week. Only one person working there during the day. Front side elevator broken six months ago, never getting fixed . Now back side the elevator broke again. I have a couple storage units in the third floor. I have to carry the stuff up and down.and paying the full price rent every month!!!!! ?????? read more

Unfortunately I have not had a quiet and peaceful time with the manager who seemed to single me out for moving units - one unit added to five at approximately 1500 a month is a problem for her. My units are not swept and the last had metal shards inside and glass outside on the pavement- not a good time here read more

I have been with self storage plus for a couple of months now, and could not be happier. I was with another storage please next door, and although the folks there are really nice, they are quite inflexible. It seems they do not have the authority to work with you.The same cannot be said for this palace. Vipul tries to accommodate one's needs at avey turn. I had a last minute, emergency rental need, VERY last minute, and he did everything he could to help me. Since i have more than one unit, he tried to put all of them as close to each other as possible (without my even asking), and even gave me the internet rate for the last minute unit, even though i was there in person. I refered a friend who is moving down from Boston. She drove eight hrs, only to arrive RIGHT during Vipul's lunch hr. with the door locked. Somehow he heard her knocking, and  did he send her away telling her to come back later? No, he intercepted his lunch to help her.I cannot recommend them highly enough. Especially Vipul. read more
