Really unsure what the problem is here. I've been coming to Castle Dental for all of my dental needs. I have one big procedure I want to schedule. And for some reason scheduling it is very difficult. I've been calling for over a week now. I left a voice message, I've called multiple times a day for multiple days, and even attempted to schedule online. But online says someone would call me and still no one would call me. Just today someone finally answered and within two seconds of answering before I can even utter a hello they hung and refuse to answer my following calls. Why is it taking so long and so many calls to just schedule an appointment here? I'm really unsure of what's going on. Because I've paid for every procedure up front and kept coming back. I also had a great relationship with the male receptionist and the dental hygienist. They're the only reason I put 2 stars instead of 1. But it's like they're refusing to even call me back. This is extremely awful service and an even worse customer experience. You guys really need to get it together in this office. Going to recommend to anyone reading this and everyone I know to not come here. There's so many new dentists popping up in Kyle that you're all much better going elsewhere. read more

I think they need to be investigated for fraud. I went there as a new patient for an exam and cleaning after my previous dentist stopped accepting insurance. I've always had dental insurance and have had dental cleanings and exams every 6 months, most of my life. I had never been told I needed deep tissue cleaning until I went to Castle Dental. Of course, the deep tissue cleaning would cost hundreds of dollars more than regular cleanings. I did not get the cleaning done and went to another dental practice instead. I was told my gums look great and only needed regular cleanings, as always. I think their business model promotes selling services that are unnecessary. I feel bad for patients that don't know any better. Furthermore, I have called the Kyle location numerous times and left messages regarding a bill I received a year later! No one ever answered and no one returned my calls. I even drove by several times to find a closed office. I called the Buda location and found out the Kyle location was closed indefinitely, but the person could not tell me why. She also could not answer any billing questions. My husband had an appointment at 8:40 this morning for exam and cleaning. He took off work and arrived to a CLOSED Castle Dental. I called other locations and was advised " Kyle doesn't have a doctor, so they are closed indefinitely ". This is the absolute worst as my son is coming home for spring break for his appointment on Monday , and we just found out it's non existent. This is so inconsiderate of the clinic to NOT notify patients. We could have allowed him to go on a trip with friends. But, I told him " no, as it's been difficult to get in with Castle Dental with the hygienist Ms. Linda only working a day or 2". We've been more then patient with this location over the years( over 10) with multiple doctors coming and going and lack of hygienist! They probably need to keep the doors closed as this is absurd!! Well, I had given 5 starts to this location but I need to correct my review: My daughter was scheduled for an appointment with the Orthodontist on November 28th we come in and the place is closed?! We didn't even get a call to let us know they were going to be closed ! Also, on our first visit we didn't even get out teeth cleaned we had to set another appointment to do so, if I waited 3 weeks for my appointment then a whole 2 months to get my teeth cleaned???? I'm not sure I've ever felt so strongly about writing a review...and in order to paint a perfectly clear picture of how I feel about this place, I just want to say that I would NEVER GO HERE, even if a heavyweight boxer punched out every tooth in my head. The business practices of Castle Dental ARE A SCAM. And I'm not just talking about the Castle Dental in Kyle, but I feel quite certain that every single Caste Dental operates under the same principles. You could have a perfectly awesome, clean, cavity-free, gingivitis-free smile, and these jokers will tell you that you need a "deep cleaning", and WILL REFUSE THE SERVICE of a regular dental cleaning! They will flat-out tell you that it simply isn't done anymore because of some "new guidelines" that they have to follow, and you'll have to pony-up the big bucks...because insurance will only cover a regular cleaning. Um, guys....there is a reason why insurance covers a regular dental cleaning, and not some new-fangled, ULTRA-expensive "deep cleaning" that requires the patient to be numbed-up like a piece of meat. These people will not only do the car salesman hard-sell....they will REFUSE TO CLEAN YOUR TEETH! They'll even get defensive & rude when you begin to ask why. I just sat there dumbfounded when they told me this stuff. It's cute, too.....they even have a semi-scripted speech as they try to sell it to you. The long & skinny of it is that I realized that I'd have to wait for a solid year until we could change our dental coverage for a dental cleaning. An overall terrible experience. After cancelling three family members appointments two different times, we finally got an appointment early in the morning. We arrived 15 minutes early to complete paperwork yet still we're not taken back to the exam room until 30 minutes past our appointment time. After being taken back to the exam room my young children were restless as we sat waiting AGAIN for services. We were playing iSpy and trying to pass the time, and the kids got a bit loud. The dentist Luis Orraca walked over to us without introducing himself and yelled, "THIS IS A MEDICAL OFFICE, KEEP IT DOWN!" It was extremely disrespectful and rude. That is when I packed our things and walked out. I will not be back to this location and am happy that they showed their true selves before any services were rendered. read more

Came in today for annual check up and cleaning. Staff were great, but really?? They schedule for an exam and then want to me schedule 3 weeks later because there is no hygienist appointments until then??? And then charge me 10$ for PPE due to covid??? Lol. It's a dentist office. They should be wearing PPE when working with patients anyway! Work smarter during this time people! I'm giving them 3 stars because the in person service was good. The after care is horrible. No one has returned multiple messages that I have left. I was even directed to another location because our doctor and nurse were at another location and nothing. I need help with documentation that has to be submitted to my TexFlex/Health Savings card and haven't been able to get anyone willing to do anything but transfer me. $5000 for braces and even paid a huge amount up front and nothing!!!! I also wasn't told that you can only make one payment with your TexFlex card, one time, the very first time after that it's your personal money and you have to request a refund yourself from your TexFlex. Our other Ortho took payments directly from our TexFlex every time. It was too late at checkout to do anything about it. Now that puts me in a hard place to have to pay with my own funds first. I even emailed the email address on the main website and no response. read more

I went to castle dental for the second time for my routine cleanup and filling, it was a wonderful experience all through. The support staff were warm and welcoming, The overall process was simple and quick. Special mention to Dr Rao, she treated me like a dream, she is one of the best dentists I have ever visited. The whole procedure lasted around 45 minutes. She made me feel comfortable, conducted the complete procedure with ease. She seems to be a perfectionist. My before and after was amazing and can't stop praising her. I would definitely advice everyone to visit castle dental, it's worth your time and money read more

Really love this place. Very professional and friendly staff. I never had problem to reschedule or even get "Emergency" appointment. Me and my kids seen different Doctors and hygienists at this locations and never had any problems. Every employee makes you feel very comfortable and treat you like a family. This is one of the worst places I have ever done business with for appointments. They make an appointment and then a day or two before it, send an e-mail cancelling it without any explanation. They reschedule and then do the same thing for the next appointment. I have had appointments cancelled this year for 4-24, 5-20, 7-30. I had an appointment for 8-24, called yesterday to confirm, and was told they had no record of it. When I told them I had an e-mail showing the appointment, they very rudely told me that it didn't matter, they had no record. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau although their parent company, Smiles Plans is not a member, has an F rating, and has a record of not responding to complaints. First time visiting!m and I have a huge fear of dentists! But My Dr was great, she explained everything I needed to know and was very sweet! I felt heard and understood! You have to wait for 45 minutes after your appointment time to make it out of the waiting room. Once in the dental chair you may wait up to an hour longer. When you have a problem with a tooth you have to wait a month or longer for an appointment to fix it read more

I went in for an initial appointment October 14th and that was just to be seen. I was told I would need to schedule a separate appointment for a cleaning. I made the appointment two weeks out. I showed up yesterday to be told there was a glitch in the system and that they didn't have my appointment on the books. There was very little work done to accommodate me in an appropriate fashion. I arrived at 7:56 am for an 8 am appointment. They told me to hold on while they saw what they could do. I was then told if an 8 am patient didn't show up, I could be seen. I informed them that they had an obligation to reach out to their patients about what happened. I asked them "what was your plan? Wait for people to show up and then turn them away?". Another woman walked in at 8:05 am and was seen right away. I was called to the front desk by another employee who then said I would have to wait 20-30. I asked why the other person wasn't bumped since clearly my appointment was made before hers since hers wasn't affected by the glitch. She kept saying it was out of her control and that what happened happened. I agreed that nothing could be done about the glitch, but their response and her customer service now were completely within her control. I slapped my card down on the counter and when she handed me the second thing to sign (which clearly had printed on it "No Signature Required" and there was no line for a signature) became sarcastic when I asked why I needed to sign it. As I grew more agitated, she said she could refund my money and that we didn't have to continue. I said I need a cleaning and that I shouldn't have to be further inconvenienced because of their error and inability to manage it properly. She also told me that it would be "unfair" to the other woman and she didn't want to have to explain what happened to her. The whole time, the other woman behind the desk was nodding in agreement with me. I was eventually seen an hour after my arrival. The hygienist Justine was so kind and helpful, so she was the only positive thing about this experience. I switched to this dentist for convenience, but I'd rather drive 30 minutes to Austin to be treated with decency and have my time respected by the front office staff. read more

Worst Dental Practice ever! When I first walked in to Castle Dental in Kyle, it was hard to stomach how terrible the front office receptionist was. In short, the receptionist was rude, unknowledgable, and not at all helpful. When I sat down for my new patient exam, things seem to get a little better. The hygienist was friendly, and the dentist was pleasant. My experience went rapidly downhill upon completion of the exam. The dentist recommended that I get a "full mouth cleaning" with fluoride varnish and irrigation. They recommended this after telling me what great shape my teeth were in. My insurance company didn't cover the expensive cleaning procedure - instead, it would cost me $125 out of pocket (with Castle Dental's generous discounts). I asked if I could just get a basic cleaning instead (since my insurance would cover that), and I was told that they could not help me unless I did the premium high dollar cleaning that the dentist recommended. Since when did a "recommendation" become your only option? How is it possible for a dental practice to force procedures that your insurance company doesn't honor as medically necessary? I will NEVER come back to this dental office, and I strongly advise that others steer clear of it as well. read more

These people are a scam. I went in as a new patient and they made me wait so long. They told me I had no cavities, but when the hygenist saw me she refused to do a normal cleaning stating that I needed a more invasive gum theraphy. Of course, my plan does not cover the cost and they told me the treatment would total to aprox $800.00 out of pocket. I left disappointed, a dentist looked at my teeth for 1 minute and I didn't even get a cleaning. Is this what dental care should be in the US? read more

Horrible. This place is the Walmart of dental practices. They treat their patients like a piece of meat, try to sell you on expensive procedures AND when you leave and go to a dental office that actually treats their patients well, they have the nerve to charge you $30 to email your x-rays to the new office. I checked with my new dentist because I thought this seemed shady, and they said all dentists are legally able to charge this fee but Castle is the only one that actually does. Like I needed one more reason to think they're awful. Avoid this entire company. While I previously had a good experience at the Castle Dental in Kyle it has evolved into one of the worst experiences ever and I would highly caution you to think again before going there. My daughter had filings done and at the time of service our insurance was verified and we paid our portion and we thought that was the end of it. Several months later we received a bill stating we did not have insurance coverage, when my HR department checked into it for me they found that the practice had the wrong information and it was corrected and payment was sent by my insurance. This was in August and then in January my daughter received a collections notice saying that insurance never paid the claim. My daughter contacted the Kyle office to get the date and amount of service where she was given the information but when we stated that the insurance had resolved this in August we were told that the billing department had to be contacted and that the office manager would call my daughter back, we then contacted my insurance and we were given the tracking information for the payment that had in fact been paid. My daughter called the Kyle office back after a week had passed with no one ever following up with her. My daughter once again spoke with Gina the manager and gave her the payment I formation. We we're on again told that they had to contact the billing department and they would call us back. I have since called 4 different times to be told that Gina is unavailable and that there is not. Any way to contact the billing department directly and I am unable to get any answers or assistance. While I understand being busy at work I also understand that this is now effecting my daughter's credit and it definitely shows that they don't care about their patients and that they are just there for the money. I am very disappointed because I really thought this was a better company. read more

If I could give 10 to Castle Dental in Kyle I would. Last week was my fourth visit here and each time my daughter and I have received exceptional customer service and dental work. Carmen the new office manager even took time out of her busy schedule to meet with me one on one to create phases to help me get my confidence back by getting my teeth fixed. I love watching the camaraderie and the laughs between Dr. Orraca and staff. They really do care about their clients and very personable which is like a breath of fresh air. I read the reviews before going and hoped it would be a good experience since dental work is not cheap! Nope, it was bad. The dental tech did not talk at all-just put me in a room and put molds in my mouth-i had to look on the wall to realize that I was getting x-rays performed. Then, when I saw the dentist, Dr. Pamarti, she had so much insight as to tell me my teeth were sure messed up. Gee thanks! She made me feel so much worse about my teeth. And told me I needed an antibiotic then I had to remind them for the prescription when I was leaving. Do they not realize how many dentists are out there to choose from? She had no bedside manner and I guess thinks her patients are not as smart as her. I asked if I could have the other dentist and was told "no", so I won't be going back and should have listened to the reviews. read more

I brought my two teenage kids to this location. The front office staff was friendly and Lenora helped us every step of the way. The dental assistants were upbeat and friendly. Amparo was their hygienist and did great. They took extra precautions for COVID and made us feel safe. I don't know why any one would go anywhere else. Dr Orraca and team are awesome! I've had the WORST experience getting an appointment for a routine dental cleaning. The first appointment I had went well, it was a nice facility and the staff seemed competent enough. The tech took my x-rays and the dentist saw me, but then informed me no hygienist was available to do my cleaning for some reason. I was understanding, I know scheduling conflicts happen, but I was disappointed no one called to inform me ahead of time. I booked another appointment to go back and get a cleaning despite the inconvenience. This cleaning appointment has now been cancelled or rescheduled THREE TIMES because no hygienist is available . If I could see another dentist I would, but my dental insurance provider list is thin in my area. read more

When Dr. Jones was still the dentist at the Lamar and Manchaca location my experience was great and I was happy for years (then he had to go and retire). This Castle Dental in Kyle is just awful. My husband and I both are now going to be prior patients. I show up today for my 1:00 appt. well, nobody there to clean my teeth, the hygienist I was scheduled to see is no longer with them. (mind you this is not the first time this has occurred). My husband has been rescheduled 3 times. The wait times are ridiculous, even though I pay in full each time, when I go back the next time I have a balance? I am so over all Castle Dentals. This is the worst dental service that I have ever had. Their customer service is horrible. I went in for a simple adjustment on a new set of dentures and before I new it they convinced me that they were out of alignment and off to the lab they went. $420.00 latter, they do not line up correctly and now they say that the previous dentist who actually made them is at fault. They lined up right when I left them, the only problem was that they were rubbing the inside of my check causing some tenderness but now they do not line up and they throw my jaw out of alignment.. Only downside is I have asked for quote on getting a bridge tooth refilled and I keep getting told to wait and they will help shortly. I'll ask again before leaving and they never get me quote.
