Worst place EVER! Takes advantage of the elderly & does incomplete dental care! If I could rate it a zero I would.

I'm glad she showed me her fragile ego that will allow me to go to a dentist who will understand my concerns and address them appropriately. Dr. French removed a tooth of mine that could have easily been saved had she been more diligent in her treatment. I had some concerns with her plans for an implant on the tooth pulled. I reached out to a few specialists who advised me against the plan Dr. French had. I called her to try and address the difference in the plan for treatment. She told me that I am not a good fit for her practice and that I should find a new dentist. Having a tooth pulled is not the most pleasant experience and it left me feeling defeated and just kind of sad, honestly. I hope Dr. French shows more compassion in the future for those who are feeling unsure and maybe even insecure about what they are going through. Teeth are a big deal. Dentists should know this and be empathetic towards how their patients are feeling. Again I want to thank Dr. French for dismissing me as her patient.

This is a copy/paste from my GOOGLE REVIEW:…read more As new clients, my partner and I were hopeful about the Dentist at Plum Creek in Kyle, but after multiple scheduling issues and cancellations, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. We originally booked our second cleaning appointments for February 2025 at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Closer to the date, we were informed the office had changed its hours and could no longer honor our evening times -- their latest appointment is now 5:00 p.m. This was already frustrating, as most working professionals need providers who offer after-hours care. I considered switching providers then but decided to give them another chance. We rescheduled and took time off work for appointments on 4/23/25 at 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Taking time off of work means that we both had to request time from our bosses, and then take back those times and ask for different days -- something no boss appreciates, especially on short notice. Days before, my partner received a cancellation text saying the office would be closed entirely that day. I never received a cancellation notice for my 4:00 p.m. slot. I called on 4/14/25 and spoke with Geneva, who explained the dentist had a personal matter and the backup dentist was unavailable. I requested a call back, and Christina (the manager) returned my call -- she's always been kind and professional, and I know this situation wasn't her fault. Christina promptly emailed over our records at my request (she originally sent us our records back in February when I considered taking our business elsewhere but then wanted to give them another chance). Still, as new clients, this is our second cancellation -- and it's unacceptable. At this point, I have no confidence they'll keep any future appointments. We'll be going to another dentist in Kyle that offers more reliable and flexible hours. The Dentist at Plum Creek is a service business, and as such, client service matters. Communication, reliability, and accommodation are essential. Repeated cancellations and a lack of backup plans hurt patient trust and reflect poorly on business operations. My feedback to management: Consider reinstating evening hours to accommodate working professionals. Other providers in Kyle offer appointments as late as 7:00 p.m. If your main and backup dentists are both unavailable, a third option should be in place so patients don't get dropped last minute. For anyone experiencing similar issues, Christina manages the Kyle location and Ankita is a supervisor (email: manager@dentistatplumcreek.com). Before trusting the high reviews here, filter by lowest rating to see the full picture. If this has happened to us twice, I doubt we're alone, but most people don't leave reviews sadly. Time is money -- and reliability from a service provider is non-negotiable.

He is very personable,…read moreknowledgeable, expresses concern for his patients, provides detailed evaluations and options while including the patient in the decision making process, and is a very gentle dentist who is concerned about patient pain and care. I've also found his staff is equally as pleasant and efficient as the Doctor. They greet you warmly when you enter their office and make you feel at ease in their presence. They are accommodating and willing to work with you on whatever you need. Finally, they have up-to-date equipment and are technically savvy. My wife, who is also a patient, agrees with everything that I've written.

I scheduled an appointment months out for me and my son, and they called shortly before his appointment to let us know that he would not be covered, despite the fact that the health care provider's website said that they were in network and the receptionist stated that they took that provider's PPO insurance when I made the appointment. I asked Main Street Dental to please check to see whether MY health insurance (a different provider) was in network and whether everything would be covered for MY appointment for later that month. They stated that they normally only call right before the appointment. I explained that we didn't want to wait until right before the appointment to find out whether there were hidden fees/out of network issues/etc. They stated they would call and check, and then they actually DID call me back to say yes, my insurance was in network, and everything should be covered. Fast-forward to my appointment! UH-OH! Turns out this place requires panoramic X-rays, which my insurance doesn't cover, so they're just calling right before my appointment to let me know that will be an extra surprise fee! Why couldn't they have checked that when they called about my insurance the first time? HMMM.... Even MORE incredibly, the receptionist stated that they were required BY LAW to take panoramic X-rays. I actually am a lawyer, but I don't think you need to have gone to law school to know that there's NO law requiring people to take panoramic X-rays before receiving dental treatment. Call almost any other dental office in the area and ask. Steer clear of Main Street Dental. There are other new dental offices in the area who would love your business and won't hit you with surprises 24-48 hours before your appointment, after you've already waited 4 months to see a dentist. They also probably won't lie and tell you a medical procedure is required "by law" when it is not.

However, my husband, who is a retired and fully disabled veteran, was referred to this office by the VA for local dental services. They are one of the very few, if not the only, providers in the area who coordinate with the VA, allowing veterans to receive care without having to drive to Austin. After his positive experience, I decided to schedule an appointment as well. We both saw Dr. Matthew O'Neil, and I almost hesitate to mention his name only because he was so phenomenal and don't want to share. He was kind, professional, and had an excellent bedside manner. He asked thoughtful questions and provided clear, thorough answers to everything I asked. A staff member, either the office manager or benefits coordinator, also met with me and walked me through a detailed cost breakdown on an iPad. She explained what my insurance would cover, what my out-of-pocket costs would be, and gave me the flexibility to prioritize or decline any services. She was incredibly kind and made the entire process feel comfortable and pressure-free. In the end, I chose to move forward with all recommended treatments because the pricing was comparable to other providers in the area, and I felt very confident in Dr. O'Neil's expertise. Today, I had two fillings, three crowns, and a deep cleaning completed under IV sedation, as I have a serious fear of dental procedures a local anesthetic is hit or miss for me. My appointment began within 5-10 minutes of arrival, and so far I've experienced little to no pain. The customer service has been outstanding. I'll be returning in two weeks to have my crowns placed, and based on my experience so far, I feel very reassured about my decision. Highly recommend!

The last few times I have been there, a new employee is training. It seems as if they are more worried about just a body filling the position rather than having a knowledgeable worker. We had a very disrespectful "secretary" call and said we missed an appointment. We had not missed an appointment; they had two appointments in their computer. No big deal, right? Should be able to resolve this with no problem. She continued that in no way could their office be wrong and tried to charge me a $50 fee with still no interest in listening to me and that there must be a mistake, but on my end only. Still, no big deal we can work out miscommunication, right? She then proceeded to accuse me of lying and said, "we have spoken to your son's dad and he confirmed today. You must be divorced or something!" Excuse me?!? My husband called a week ago to update payment information using his debit card and was told to come in on a certain day because that is when the financial gal was there. That had absolutely nothing to do with an appointment. Why on earth would she deem her words appropriate. When we went there to confront the situation, we were met by two ladies sitting at the front desk, while other patients and families were in the waiting room, talking about how rude WE were, and things shouldn't be so difficult. I'm sorry but playing the victim card doesn't work with me. I told her that was me and if you had more to say we can talk in a more appropriate setting. I requested to speak to Dr. Tessler and the "secretary" involved. The resolution we received was Dr. Tessler's husband, whom we have never met and didn't even introduce himself, coming out to see what's going on as she would not speak with us. He gave nothing but excuses for the employee and coddled this employee in the back room asking if she was ok. Dr. Tessler walked in and out of that room several times as well. She had time to check on this rude employee but not time to speak to us and apologize. How this situation was handled speaks volumes to me. There is absolutely no accountability, and an apology goes a long way. If we were not so far in my son's current care we would not be returning for another appointment. Not because of the secretary, I'm sure she will be gone soon, but the way this was handled by Dr. Tessler and her husband.
