I had such a great experience at this dental office and can't recommend it enough. The staff was welcoming, organized, and genuinely kind and they make you feel comfortable right away. Dr. Schaefer is amazing - very knowledgeable, thorough, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. You can tell she truly cares about her patients and the quality of her work. The office is clean, modern, and runs very efficiently, and the entire team - from hygienists to the front desk - is professional. Buda Dental Professionals - Beautiful office - General Dentistry Near Me - Buda, Texas

I've been going to Dr. Strickland for about 10 years. I have never had a dentist that I trust this implicitly. BDP takes their time, they walk through all of your concerns, they adjust plans when needed. There is no high pressure to do extra work. The work they do is beautiful. I needed to have some chips filled in today on a bottom tooth and my front teeth. This may sound cheesy but it was a blend of science and art. She made sure the work felt good to me, looked good to her and me and I left feeling so great about the work. She has worked in my kids. They are very gentle. When my daughter was 8 she needed a cavity filled and she was terrified. They were so gentle and good with kids that she did not even know that she received a numbing shot! She had no pain. And my other daughter needed a baby tooth removed because it was blocking an adult tooth. After she had the procedure done she told me that she would turn around and do it again right then, that she had no discomfort. They take care of you and you can trust them. Please do yourself a favor and make an appointment. read more

Kudos to Dr Dunn and Vianey.....Not only did the office squeeze me in last minute before a long holiday weekend, but Dr. Dunn and Vianey both stayed late to complete the procedure the same day! This prevented me from being in pain over the holiday. Best customer service ever! read more

I work with thousands of businesses across the world and encounter multiple products, support, and service teams. This is why, when I see an incredible and exemplary level of customer service and someone 'going the extra mile' - it certainly needs to be called out. Buda Dental Professional is a testament to extraordinary care, kindness, and how advanced technology can be used in the medical profession. I am incredibly impressed with the professionalism, passion, and care that Buda Dental Professionals brings to its patients. I just wanted to share this gratitude as we know that it is easy for us as humans to complain when something goes wrong, but equally in circumstances like this important to call out when someone goes above and beyond. Thank you very much Gayle, Dr. Strickland, Stephanie, Monica and others I could not remember the names. You are amazing! Let all that you do be done in love! read more

Dr Strickland saved my smile. I've always been blessed with beautiful teeth, never had a cavity in my life (60 yrs old), never wore braces, but as I grew older, because I drink coffee and wine, I wasn't happy with the color of my teeth. I live in New Braunfels, and a dentist there talked me into Veneers. I opted for 10 teeth to be done, long story short, he made me into a monster. He totally grinded down my teeth, put me in temporaries (that kept breaking and falling off) for two months. Worst experience in my life, and when the permanents came in, they looked nothing like my real teeth at all. It was horrible. One of the permanents even broke off - the worst three months of my life! Then I found Dr Strickland...she's my angel. From looking and studying my past photos, she fixed my smile. She gave me back my life. She's so gentle, and knowledgeable with immersible skill, she's truly exceptional at dentistry! She, and her team, treated me with the utmost care and understanding. I can't thank her enough. If you're looking for an experienced, caring, and skilled dentist, choose Buda Dental Professionals. They are truly amazing all the way around!!!! read more

Very professional, friendly and skilled dentistry. I had a filling fall out yesterday and they were able to make arrangements to squeeze me into their schedule on such short notice. They refilled the tooth and it feels great. I highly recommend this office! read more

This was one of my best dental experiences. Melissa, dental hygienist, was very thorough and loves to provide patient education. You can tell she is very passionate about her career and really cares about the patients. They have cool new technology including a film that identifies areas with more plaque and airbrush cleaning methods. Dr. Strickland was great as well. I have never had any dental issues (due to always going in for cleanings and one extra cleaning a year that my insurance doesn't cover) so I never spend much time with the dentist. The first appointment is 90 minutes so be prepared for that. I was thinking it was an hour so I was rushed and probably would have had an even better experience if I had the full 90 minutes. read more

Dr Carlyon has helped me regain my smile, which has always been so important to me! Because of medical problems lasting more than 10 years, my dental health was ruined and my teeth were so bad that I just didn't EVER smile with my mouth open. After meeting with Gail, Dr Taylor & Dr Carlyon, it was decided that Dr Carlyon would perform all of the procedures and surgeries required for the process of assisting me in getting dentures that would eventually give me a smile I could be proud of. We got started in December of 2018 and just recently finished in Sept of 2019. Of course, I had some surgery during that time and there were a few other delays, so it might not take YOU quite as long as it did me. Dr Carlyon was always so professional, supportive, caring, gentle and kind throughout the entire process and it always pmeant so much to me. After I got my final upper and lower dentures, I was so thrilled, but I cried in relief and pure joy! Everyone in the room was so excited, including Dr. Carlyon, and now I smile a huge smile every chance I get! My husband of 46 years and my three grown sons are glad to have their "smiling Mama" back! I can't thank Buda Dental Professionals, and Dr. Carlyon, enough for their assistance in returning my smile to it's rightful place!! read more

LOVE Dr. Strickland and the rest of the staff at Buda Dental. They handle the dental work for myself, my wife, and our 7 year old son. We could not be more pleased. Just this morning I had a root canal performed there and it was no big deal. They are awesome at making you comfortable and clearly discussing what needs to be done, and the process they will follow. read more

Beware if you work for Hays CISD. This office is out-of-network with our Cigna plan, even though they will not tell you that up front. My husband and I had been without insurance for many years, so when I started teaching again, I was anxious to get some long overdue dental work done. I read good reviews on yelp for Buda dental and called to make an appointment. I asked if they took my insurance and without hesitating, they said yes that they had "many Hays CISD employees" as clients. Being new with the district and to dental insurance for a while, I did not know to ask "are you in-network or out-of-network" at that point. I was excited to find a dental office to help us, so we made appointments. They were very friendly and did our first exams and explained everything...EXCEPT the major fact that they were out-of-network. When we were billed $500+ for our exams and x-rays a red flag went up and I asked them why it was so expensive. They said I had the low plan with my dental insurance and I needed the higher plan in order to have better coverage (WITHOUT explaining that the higher plan is ONLY for out-of-network dentist...which I found out too late). Within a few weeks, I ended up needing an emergency dental procedure and went forward with it in order to be able to function and work. They had originally quoted me $600 for ALL the work I needed done (about three things). Then after the one emergency tooth, they charged me $800...and it didn't make any sense, I figured it would be 1/3 of the original $600 quote. Not only that, after the claim was actually filed, they ended up charging me $1300+ for that ONE tooth?! That is 6x's more than what I had budgeted or expected. Whoa, that is not professional or okay for a teacher who already doesn't make any money...that is ONE of my monthly paychecks and I have 4 kids and my husband works only part time. I had no idea how I would pay for it and I still don't...maybe if we don't buy groceries for a few months and I let my kids go hungry I can make monthly payments. It's just crazy. Needless to say, I am currently appealing the claim. I was shocked and sick to my stomach. I contacted the HR person at HCISD to "bump up to the higher plan" if I could and she explained to me rather quickly that Buda Dental is out-of-network and to go somewhere else. Okay, now that makes sense, but why couldn't any of them have just said that up front? Not one person (and there were a total of 4 different employees that could have just said that) EVER said they were out-of-network. I felt totally manipulated and hurt by all 4 of those women. Just be honest with your clients. Especially ones that can't afford to be lied to. Withholding information is the same thing as lying, even in a professional setting. It just seems like a dishonest practice. Sure they are nice and all, but I guess that was just smoke and mirrors. I have now have found an in-network dentist that does not charge me one penny for exams or x-rays. I have recently had work done and have more work scheduled to be done and they can assure me that the quote I get WILL be the amount that will be owed. Why would it be any different? Yes, I have learned my lesson. I am so relieved to have found a dental practice I can trust (Onion Creek Dental is great for HCISD btw). I just want to warn any others who might be new to the insurance game like I am. HCISD employees, avoid this out-of-network office because what you see will NOT be what you get. read more

Well, got to say this is a different style of dentistry. They actually sit down in an office with you an go through your dental history. Wow, I never had that done before, usually it was on the operating table - - - uh, I mean the dentist chair asking question while they are working on your teeth. You could say those type of dentist were digging for gold. Anyway, I went through the examine as a first patient and was quite impressed with the service,-- well a lot. I really enjoyed the consultation and actually getting to talk to the dentist doctor. They take the time to understand your problem and educate you on what will happen, how it happens, what to expect, and how to prevent maintain good dental hygiene. I really like this dentist and believe that they are genuine. This type of experience reminds me of St. Edwards, were the professors have already been in the field, made their mark and ready to give back to the community. Dr. Taylor has already been there and done that, and ready to continue customer relation through dentistry, to provide the best possible service. I read their mission statement, it seemed to long to remember. I would suggest it to be three simple statements. 1.) Provide authentic customer service, through respect and understanding of customer problems. 2.) Educate customers about their dental issues with pros and cons of each opportunity provided. 3.) Keep abreast on technology and techniques as the industry changes, providing customers up to date skills and practices. * and yes, if Buda Dental is reading this you may copy and use as your own or use as a guideline. Oh, I nearly forgot, they are competitive with Austin prices, so don't think this has to be a premium price for the service. So far, Insurance as paid all except for a dollar or two and if you do not have Insurance you may get a discount, just ask for cash service prices. read more

Beware of going to Buda Dental, they DO NOT take any "in network" insurance at all, they only charge "out of network" rates which leaves you paying for an over-priced service in my opinion. So much for paying my premiums for dental insurance. It's a nice and clean office but it's ridiculous how they just do not care about keeping their patients. This is one of those times when I wish Yelp offered a higher rating than just 5 stars. I cannot begin to say how much I love this Dental practice. It is at least a 10 star place. Drs Strickland and Taylor are the absolute best dentists I have ever had. I alternate between the two, depending on who's available that day, and both are extraordinary. And, because they are so wonderful, they hire equally wonderful staff - from the front desk to the hygienists. There isn't anyone there that I don't adore. The practice is in an interesting place. Buda is a small town outside of Austin. So it's very convenient to get to. And, in a way, the town has become a suburb of Austin. However, they've also retained their "small town persona." The dentists talk about their families and their church activities and all the things that you'd find in a smaller place. However, the equipment they have is far superior to that in any other place I've been - even in the heart of Austin or Houston. This place cares about ME - not just my teeth. They see me as a whole person and truly care about me. They know that I get nervous with dentists, so they do everything they can to make me comfortable. If that means using some gas to calm me down, they're willing to do that. If it means explaining exactly what they're doing, they do that. And they never make me feel like I'm wimpy for being nervous! In fact, Dr. Taylor told me there are parts of being a patient at the dentist that even he gets nervous about! So he understands completely. I loved hearing that! They're not in my dental network, and I LOVE that! Because of that, they're able to charge fees that actually work with MY budget instead of being bound to what the insurance thinks they should charge. Not being in my network takes the insurance requirements out and allows them to actually charge LESS than what I was paying elsewhere. I've found that my dental costs have lessened considerably since I started going to Buda Dental. I love that they go over the dental issues I have. But they prioritize what needs to be done. If something isn't urgent, they are quick to tell me that and let me know that it's something that they'll put in my records for down the line when I have the money, time or inclination to fix it. But, for now, just know that it's not critical. I'm amazed I'm about to say this, because this isn't something I'd ever say in the past with a dentist! But I can't wait until my upcoming appointment with them to get my teeth cleaned. I've missed seeing all of them, and can't wait to see what they've been up to lately! I know that my teeth will be taken care of properly and that I'll be leaving that day with a healthy smile. And I'll also be leaving with a warm feeling after being with some sweet people that I consider friends! read more

Our entire family has been cared for by Buda Dental for a half-dozen years. We have received absolutely outstanding service from everyone on staff there. My teeth and gums are in much better shape. Dr. Hinding and Dr. Taylor are up on all the latest treatments. I have told friends and neighbors on more than one occasion that I cannot believe we are lucky enough to have such a great dental practice here in Buda. read more

My family and I have gone to Buda Dental several times. We really like Dr. Taylor. The office is very nice, staff seems friendly enough. So why the two star rating? Because someone in the front office is dishonest. I took my son in for his check-up, and while we were checking out I was quoted a higher price than I expected. However, I thought that perhaps something with my insurance had changed which required a larger out of pocket fee. That's why I have a Flextra (health spending account) card. So I handed her my Flextra card, bill paid, we left. A few weeks later I get a letter from the Flextra people wanting documentation on the charges from the dental visit. Turns out I was billed that day's charges along with a balance from the previous year. So now my Flextra card is suspended until the charges are paid back. When I called Buda Dental and explained the situation, the lady on the phone says, "Well that's a bummer" in this voice like she was talking to a toddler. I took it as sarcastic and condescending. I told her that I did not appreciate not being informed that I was paying a past due balance in addition to the current charges because now my Flextra was suspended. She assured me that no one in the office would ever do that. I said, well someone did, because they did it to me. I also told her that had I been informed I would have gladly paid the balance ($30) with a separate card. I never got an apology, but she did put the money back from the balance on my Flextra card. I realize I have a responsibility to pay my bills. I'm sure I received a bill and maybe it got overlooked in the jumble of other bills we pay. $30 was not the priority. If I had any intention of not paying that bill I would not have shown up for the appointment that day. I also should have asked for clarification on why the bill was so much this time. Lesson learned-always question a bill when it doesn't seem right. That goes for anywhere, I suppose. Two stars go to Dr. Taylor. He's a great dentist. The last visit we saw the other doctor, Dr. Strickland, and we didn't really get a good vibe from her. read more

Absolutely the best dental experience I've ever had. Ashley and her team are knowledgeable, gentle and extremely kind. A real community atmosphere. Highly recommended! read more

The rating scale for Yelp doesn't include enough stars. I'd gladly give Buda Dental 10, if it were possible! I have never had such a wonderful, caring dentist office as this. I've seen both Dr. Strickland and Dr. Taylor, and both of them are beyond terrific. Very kind, compassionate dentists who really listen to their patients. I've even had to call them on weekends, and they've been available to help me with an emergency dental situation. I think that one of the things that makes them so great is that the whole practice is a "family." You get the sense that everyone that works there loves being there and is a part of the group because they want to be. They have retreats and events just for the staff that get them closer together. And they care about each other. As such, the patient gets that feeling as well. They are not in my network. However, their costs are so great that I actually come out better using them than a practice that is in my network. They work with me on my payments and realize that I may not be able to afford everything at once. They prioritize what needs to be done, so that I know what things can wait a while and what things are more critical. I'm not a person that likes to go to the dentist. But I actually love going here. They are very patient with me and do everything possible to ease my fears. If you're scared of being at the dentist, tell them. They do have things they can do to help you and make it not as traumatic! Love, love, love these people and recommend them to everyone I know! read more

I had a decent enough service here, nothing substandard, but there wasn't anything about the experience that made it particularly exceptional. I would rate it pretty low on my personal experiences as far as dental experiences go. (Other offices have TVs, gentler cleaning methods, better bedside manner) That being said the biggest issue I had with this experience is their prices are far out of line with the normal cost of service. After calling to discuss my bill with them I learned they are out-of-network with all dental insurance. (We have the Metlife platinum PDP plan) For myself I had a routine cleaning/check-up with a set of x-rays, my husband had a routine cleaning and did NOT update any of his x-rays. AFTER insurance paid their potion we still owe $378. We just moved into the area but I have never been charged that much for a cleaning even without insurance. Really bummed out the location is nice but there are lots of dental offices in the area. We are still waiting to see if they will negotiate this bill...unfortunately not looking good for us. read more

I have been going to this Dental Practice for 3 years. I moved here from Dallas where I loved my dentist. This was referred to me by a friend and so I tried them out. I have have seen both Doctors and although very different, had a great experience. Dr. Taylor is my favorite because he is so friendly and so through. I had quite a bit of work done each time. What they do is tell you what they think you should do, changeout fillings, etc but also tell you what you NEED to do. I ask them to prioritize everything and I only have done what I need to do and what I can afford. They do not take insurance but they do file for you. I do not currently have insurance as I am self employed. However, they told me upfront that I could make payments. I have done this several times. I would much rather pay a small bit more, be able to make payments and not to be hurt during a crown or a cavity filling. I highly recommend this practice and to take responsibility for asking all the right questions in the beginning and getting everything (quotes, etc) printed out for you-which they do anyway. read more
