After the third missed appointment without giving 24 hours notice, you're then charged $200 for a missed visit. I've never had a business treat me like this!

It is very unfortunate that Dr. Tessler is having such an issue with keeping people up at the front…read moredesk. We have been going almost a year and had a great experience, until now. The last few times I have been there, a new employee is training. It seems as if they are more worried about just a body filling the position rather than having a knowledgeable worker. We had a very disrespectful "secretary" call and said we missed an appointment. We had not missed an appointment; they had two appointments in their computer. No big deal, right? Should be able to resolve this with no problem. She continued that in no way could their office be wrong and tried to charge me a $50 fee with still no interest in listening to me and that there must be a mistake, but on my end only. Still, no big deal we can work out miscommunication, right? She then proceeded to accuse me of lying and said, "we have spoken to your son's dad and he confirmed today. You must be divorced or something!" Excuse me?!? My husband called a week ago to update payment information using his debit card and was told to come in on a certain day because that is when the financial gal was there. That had absolutely nothing to do with an appointment. Why on earth would she deem her words appropriate. When we went there to confront the situation, we were met by two ladies sitting at the front desk, while other patients and families were in the waiting room, talking about how rude WE were, and things shouldn't be so difficult. I'm sorry but playing the victim card doesn't work with me. I told her that was me and if you had more to say we can talk in a more appropriate setting. I requested to speak to Dr. Tessler and the "secretary" involved. The resolution we received was Dr. Tessler's husband, whom we have never met and didn't even introduce himself, coming out to see what's going on as she would not speak with us. He gave nothing but excuses for the employee and coddled this employee in the back room asking if she was ok. Dr. Tessler walked in and out of that room several times as well. She had time to check on this rude employee but not time to speak to us and apologize. How this situation was handled speaks volumes to me. There is absolutely no accountability, and an apology goes a long way. If we were not so far in my son's current care we would not be returning for another appointment. Not because of the secretary, I'm sure she will be gone soon, but the way this was handled by Dr. Tessler and her husband.

I chose this place to get dental work done based on my insurance "in network" options and location…read more I looked up the doctors who were listed at this location and when I called, the information I was given was actually outdated because I was informed then that the doctor I wanted to see is at a different location. I went ahead and scheduled my appointment anyway since I'm way overdue. Upon arrival, I can see they keep the front office pretty clean. There were about 6 people behind the desk when I walked in but everyone looked too busy to help me right away. Finally, I checked in and was handed some documents to fill out and sign. When I finally got called in, the machine where they were trying to scan my teeth was either broken or the girl didn't know how to use it properly? Not sure but it was an awkward 10 minutes of trying it over and over until finally giving up. They sat me in the chair and did their usual routine for first time patients. Then I waited for a bit for the doctor to give me analysis and consult. They didn't provide any care or cleaning during that visit but it still took almost two hours to complete. When I scheduled the work I needed done (cleaning and crown) they told me it would take about 1 hr 45 minutes. When I finally came in, there were two assistants in the "room" and they told me one was just shadowing and will just be watching. But well into the procedure, they actually had her hold the suction for almost half the time and she was a little bit abrupt and kept commanding "close" and "open" each time. And at one point, there was a struggle in proper placement and positioning of the suction, which created a lot of discomfort for me. I was annoyed because the lady was clearly new and it was a complex procedure, yet they allowed her to keep doing it/she also insisted. I tried to show signs of displeasure but a bit hard when you can't use your mouth and I also really didn't want to be rude. I just wanted to get it all over with. This whole visit took more than 3 hours! Unacceptable. When I came back for my actual crown placement, I had to wait more than 15 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment. Maybe I've been spoiled by my previous dental family, but the front desk just doesn't feel inviting. They seem cold and impatient or something. When I don't hear them the first time, and I ask them to repeat what they're saying, they seem annoyed about it. They have me signing all kinds of paper work every time I'm visiting, I feel I have the right to ask any question I need to before signing it. I also don't understand their policy about only getting a 15 minute grace period when it took them well over 15 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment to call me to the back, despite being there early. Overall, this office needs to work on setting the correct time expectations and efficiency. I like the doctor who did the work, but I may have reached the point where I'd rather drive somewhere 30 minutes away if the duration of the appointment will be around the correct estimate. Also I suggest them not having a new assistant help with complex procedures - it makes for a very uncomfortable experience for the patient.
