We had some thin but tall trees that started leaning on our home after some needed rainfall, and we did not feel confident taking care of it ourselves. Hired Castillo Tree after a few other companies' quotes. He didn't have to use poison as one company will (we have dogs). Castillo's crew of 4 have their own jackhammer as one company says we have to have done first. They took a section of the fence off first as the tree grew out of nowhere against my side of the fence. They jackhammer the patio first to follow the roots. Then they grind the root while the other guys dug out the roots 3-4" diameter. They cleaned up and put the pile of concrete in one area. After getting quotes from 8 different tree services for cutting down three 25ft silver dollar eucalyptus trees to fence level, I chose Castillo Tree Service. I don't usually leave reviews and I have unusually high standards for what I think is deserving of 5 stars, but Castillo Tree Service completely deserves it. I needed to have 3 trees trimmed and pruned, including a very tall spruce tree that was growing into my fence and onto my neighbor's roof. Unlike a lot of companies right now, Gabriel returned my phone call quickly and showed up to provide me an estimate at the time promised. Pricing was very fair, and the next morning after meeting with Gabriel, my trees were trimmed and looking great. I wanted to remove four 50' juniper trees in my backyard along with a couple smaller trees that were on my grass. I called up about five different tree service guys and each came over to give me a quote. Gabriel was literally half the price of the cheapest quote so I gladly decided to give him my business. He arrived on time with four assistants. There was some climbing involved because two of the trees were too close to the house. The rest were easier because they were able to guide the initial cutting of the tree down to the tree stump. They had to remove part of my side fence gate in order to fit the tree stump grinder machine. The entire job lasted about three hours. They cleaned up very nicely afterwards and had plenty of mulch for other areas of my backyard. The only downside was that Gabriel accidentally cut through some of my irrigation piping. I can't knock him for that because he specifically asked me about the location of the piping before he started in that particular area. Since I didn't know the answer (it was installed underground way before I owned the house), I told him to just do the best he could. Anyway, I just need to go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a few pieces of PVC pipes to fix it, which is not a big deal. Overall, I had an excellent experience with Gabriel and it was cool to see how the pros remove trees. I'll gladly do business with him again and would definitely recommend him for any type of tree services you need. Last but not least, I found out he does fence building work and sells firewood as well so I got some quotes for that before he left. read more

They gave me a very competitive quote, so we were off to a great start. Gabriel and his crew are the best. They came on time and completed a deep pruning of my entire front and back yard. The job included pruning four 30' tall trees, three very large hedges, a large bougainvillea, large plumb tree, large pomegranate tree, our beautiful crape myrtle natchez multi-trunk, half a dozen hydrangeas, a medium sized Japanese maple, removed our dying apple tree, and pruned dozens of other small plants. They spent 8 back-breaking hours making everything look perfect. By the end they had a pile a branches and leaves about 9 feet tall and 25 feet long in front of our house.
