Transparency, I've only been here once, but that was enough for me to confidently give this Windermere pizza staple 5-stars. I'll explain why: - The pizza is the thinnest, most legit NYC pizza I've eaten in Orlando. I ordered a margherita pizza and it came out delicious, crispy and mega flavorful. - The 18-year-old pizza oven is constructed of heavy old bricks with a real fire and stone. - They serve ice cold Peroni which goes great with all foods Italian. - Finally, the owner and staff there are mega-friendly guys who are passionate about making pizza the right way. Plus, I found a nice little cozy spot off to the side and got some work done in an unexpectedly delightful new pizza shop for me, but a long-time piece of the Windermere scene. Bravo! read more

The staff were always polite and gracious when calling in orders. If you order frequently from them, they seem to have a knack for remembering names well. It's in the same plaza as Walmart and China Garden. Parking is shared with all of the businesses but usually it's easy to find a spot to park. The pizzas are usually ready a little early to on time when they quote the timing. Flavors are good. Their wings are cooked well and have a good cook on them - I think they cook them in the same oven as the pizza? read more

My brother in law and sister in law moved near Universal Studios from Windemere and we needed to find some good pizza. (Note: in Windemere , check out Stromboli's). I saw this place while waiting for my wife to get out of Walmart. Anywhooo...we ordered two large pies. The biggest they offer is 16". Which was plenty for the four of us. We ordered sausage and pepperoni on one and sausage, pepperoni, onion, peppers and mushrooms on the other. The delivery, just a few miles was faster than quoted and the driver was very nice. The pizza is pretty good by NY'er standards and very good by Orlando standards. The crust is very thin, crispy enough, and plenty of toppings. Great pizza - super fresh. If you call on a Friday night make sure you call at least one hour before you want to eat. They are always super busy but definitely worth the wait. Sometimes we also get the Caesar Salad. When We call in they know our address and what we have ordered before so ordering is fast and easy. Big slices with a soda would bring me in for lunch instead of other choices. They use Grande cheese which is the best cheese not sold to us over the counter. I was really quite thrilled to discover Castello's the other day. I have lamented for the past decade that Dr. Phillips needed a good hole in the wall pizzeria and, apparently, I was blind to one just around the corner. Castello's may be small -- a counter with half a dozen bar stools against a window for those who want to eat in the restaurant -- but it's staff has a very sincere way of greeting customers. As a result, the store does not seem small as much as it seems intimate, as if one were getting a slice in a friend's kitchen. I've ordered slices at Castello's twice now. Both were consistent. The sauce was flavorful but not too sweet. The saltiness of the cheese was a perfect match to sauce. A few droplets of oil lingered on my fingers when I was done eating but I as not bathed in an excess of fatty oils. The crust was tasty but could have been crispier to suit my taste. Of course, on my second visit I could have asked for my slice to be thrown into the oven a bit longer. Castello's is a great find and one that I will return to again and again. I am shocked to see any less than stellar reviews for Castello's! I've never had a bad experience here, the employees are always awesome and the pizzas are consistently amazing. This is actually the only pizza place in Orlando I still trust to be consistent. I first heard about Castello's from friends who lived in New York for many years and told me that this is one of the very few pizza places in Orlando that they found to be on par with real NY pizza, so of course I had to check it out. This place has gourmet pizza, the most delicious in town, NOT like a chain pizza place! Cannot compare this place to Papa john, Pizza Hut level pizza. A few years ago my husband and I loved this place. It seems it has really gone down hill :/ We got the Margarita pizza and wings tonight. The pizza was EXTREMELY thin, tomatoes were not fresh or of decent quality, and the crust was under cooked. The basil was also poor quality and extremely wilted. It seemed like pizza that had been sitting under a heating lamp all day. The wings were just okay. They used to be great, but now they seem very fatty, no crisp to the skin, and the skin is so thick and slimy. Grossed me out. What happened to you guys? :( read more

I just got this pizza delivered. My first reaction was Meh. The sauce and the cheese were slightly above Domino's quality, but how hard is that. The crust was as thin as I had hoped but unfortunately had no flavor. All I can say is I would order this over Domino's or pizza Hutt but there are better local pizza joints. I also wanna mention that the picture of the garlic cheese bread online was a traditional loaf of bread. What I got was a small pizza crust with garlic cheese melted on top. I have had Castello's before and it was good but tonight I want overly impressed with our food. We ordered 6 wings and a 14" buffalo pizza. I have never had the wings before and probably won't order them from here again. All 6 were burnt and dry with little sauce to add any flavor. We're staying at the Hard Rock hotel. These guys left a flyer on our door, saying they'll deliver. It takes an HOUR for the pizza, my husband not only has to meet them in the lobby but the pizza was COLD. Not just room temp, but COLD, like I just got it from my fridge.
