Review for Castello Salon in Boca Raton: I had an extremely disappointing experience at Castello. I originally went in just to touch up my gray roots, but the stylist quickly talked me into doing highlights instead. I went along with it, trusting their professional opinion--meanwhile, they seemed more focused on how much higher they could run up the bill than on delivering a quality result. The highlights and haircut left my hair damaged, flat, and breaking off. The cut was uneven, and my hair now feels thinner and lifeless--far from the refreshed look I expected. After the appointment, I called a high-end, well-known salon in the area and described what was done. They told me their top stylist would have charged no more than $400 for the same service--done with far more care and professionalism. When I called Castello to express my concerns, the only thing the owner offered was a conditioning treatment. Given the level of damage and how uncomfortable I now feel with their quality of work, I believe they should have offered to refund my money. Since they haven't reached out to do that, I felt it was necessary to share this experience publicly. This was not just overpriced--it was careless and disappointing. I trusted them and left feeling taken advantage of. I would not recommend this salon. Then I had to spend 200 to buy conditioners till it grows out . I stopped at Castello to get some product that was hard to find in other salons in the area. Leandro was incredibly informative and helpful and answered all of the questions that I had about the product. I was concerned about the effect it would have on my color treated hair. But he explained everything about it, and even suggested a complementary item that I needed as well. I went in for a hair cut, color, and highlights. The place is new and very clean. Refreshments are offered and everything is sectioned off. Hair cuts up front, color is done in the middle and the massage area is in the back. Staff seems friendly more like a family feeling. When I got my highlights I actually had to return the next day as my toner was not properly applied. I was ready for work and trying to fit this correction that needed to be done into my already busy schedule. I had no issues getting the color corrected but I was floor when the lady wanted to charge me $35 for a blow out! The salon was slow, and I have wavy hair which I prefer to wear straight. I had to go out of my way to return and I do not think it's fair to get charged. Over all, the salon is nice. VERY expensive for the services they provide. (They work on a sliding scale - I even went with their junior stylist!) I will not be returning to this salon, maybe I made a mistake by choosing the junior stylist but honestly their prices are ridiculous! read more

I am not a fan of the overall general, artificial placating nature of many of the front staff and owners in the Boca area. Today I had a facial and massage with Devon. It was above and beyond. I have had other facials at well known, high end salons and this was shoulders above the others. Devon is on top of her game. I was in the mood for blow dry and found this place near by and decided to try it. I am super picky with my blow drys because I have very thick curly hair but just wanted to risk it anyways. I got to enjoy an expresso before we got started. The vibe was very welcoming. They paired me up with Jenni and soooo happy they did! She was amazing!! I got the hotheads tape in hair extensions from the Director, Kristina. I waited a couple of weeks so I could give an honest review. And honestly, they are amazing! I could never do my hair and with these I have the long, wavy Victoria Secret look. I'm in love! They are a bit of work considering I work-out so much so I'm constantly blow drying them, but hey that's the price you pay for beautiful hair. After I blow dry and style everyday, I brush, stick it up in a pony b4 bed, and in the morning I take it down and have a full, voluminous and wavy look like I just came from the salon. AMAZING. They are also getting softer and more natural feeling the more I wash them. Kristina is a sweetheart. So knowledgeable and talented. Excellent price and superb customer service. When I moved to South Florida I was very worried about finding a hair stylist that I trusted, as I've had some very bad experiences in the past. I was so happy to find a new salon where I felt comfortable and could trust the staff. Antonella knows how picky I am with my hair and she always makes sure that I am completely happy with her work. She spends so much time making sure every section of my hair looks great and she won't stop until we are both satisfied. Sometimes, I think she cares more about my hair than I do. I had an appointment and they made me wait over 45 minutes, never even apologized. The manager was so rude, also a week prior when i scheduled the appointment the person on the phone was very short and rude. I would never advise anyone to go there. How you treat people is so important in the service industry. I can't believe I was treated so poorly. I was greeted warmly and put very much at ease a new salon is like going to a new school it can be a bit scary. I instantly felt the positive vibes and I was able to relax I was taken on a tour of the establishment and offered a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres. The staff was so friendly and welcoming I knew I had made the right choice to switch salons. Fast forward to 2014 and I happen to notice they were hiring I took the plunge. This energetic husband and wife duo are an unbeatable team they are warm and friendly and genuinely care about their many clients. Not to mention masters of their craft. The entire staff is absolutely amazing and creative genius's in their own right. I have never worked for such incredible, honest and caring people. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of such a great team. I have been going to Castello Salon Spa ever since I moved in the area about a year ago. Everyone in the salon is super nice and very welcoming ! I get my nails done every two weeks by Juana (very relaxing pedicures too!). She does a great job and is very knowledgeable about the nail/skin industry!! She gives fabulous facials and has introduced me to Yonka Products which leave your skin feeling so fresh and rejuvenated. Next up will be highlights with Leandro. I had my appointment with Sammy. I've been getting my hair done for years but I've never felt so comfortable with a stylist, which is important. Very unprofessional business, the owner and his wife talk poorly of the clients but act friendly to their face. It is just the owner and his wife working as stylists there (which is why it is so expensive, not because of great quality but because of needing to make ends meet).. which i understand but, they have no other stylists because they all decide to leave because of how poorly they are treated. I've watch the owner and his wife demand the assistants what to do, I've watched them demand the receptionist to go shampoo and take the phone with her so she can do two jobs at once, because they are too good to shampoo their own clients... they always squeeze in people as much as possible and cause an inconvenience for clients to sit around and wait for them to have time. I heard the owner and his wife talk bad about numerous employees that have decided to leave that salon, you do not ever talk down on prior employees to your clients, how unprofessional. They talked bad about clients the second they walk out the door and as they watch them walk in. you can tell the owner and his wife think highly of themselves and i do no see why. they are rude and demanding to clients and continuously up their charges without a fair warning and do unwanted "add-ons" then make you pay for them. this salon is all about getting money and nothing about actual concern for their employees or clients. i've tried this place a few times but after what i witnessed at my last visit, i will never be returning. read more
