Went here for the first time. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. The patio is nice by the water and in the evening with the sun. We ordered a bottle of white wine which was warm and not chilled. We had to ask to be put on ice for some time prior to drinking. The menu is much smaller than what is on the website due to COVID. That is not advertised until you get there. Our waitress did not bring the bread and olive oil that we saw every other table get. We got a couple appetizers. The calamari was good but the Caesar salad was horrible. A very watered down dressing with now taste. The lettuce felt like it was covered in white water. Our entrees were good. We got chicken parm, a haddock special and the squid ink pasta with shrimp. The atmosphere on the deck and the entrees were the best thing. I know this is a crazy time, but restaurants should be doing everything they can to keep customers coming back. read more

Went in with high hopes. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. Food was very good but overpriced. And they charged us a $5 fee for sharing an entree. Even though we declined the soup/Salad that comes with the entree and ordered a $10 specialty salad instead. Service was good. Though it did take a while for meals to come out of the kitchen. Had the Watermelon and Feta Salad and the Haddock with Fennel Risotto. Was very tasty. But the $5 sharing charge totally turned us off. read more

We had dinner here last Saturday night and it was absolutely delicious. I mean, really really good! I had the oysters as my entree, which I found just a little bit small but full of wonderful flavors, and for my main I had the mushroom ravioli, which was out of this world. In retrospect I'm glad the oysters were small because I just had to eat all the ravioli. There was a lot of it. All 4 of us loved our dinners, accompanied by an Italian red that was very tasty. And dessert might have been the best of all. I had vanilla gelato that was maybe the best ice cream I've ever tasted. It was a little soft, the flavor had hints of cotton candy, and it was an ample serving. So good. I'm not (yet) giving them 5 stars for 2 reasons. 1) They are still in starting-up mode and still hiring and working out the flow. We loved our waitress nevertheless. 2) They are so far out. For folks in Hudson or far west Metrowest, not a problem. For us it was a bit of a haul. If they were to open another restaurant closer in to town we'd be there frequently, but then that would mean not experiencing the specatular views of the Hudson restaurant. And by the way, the name of the restaurant comes from a stunningly beautiful aria in the opera "Norma." Very cool. read more

The other reviews captured much of what we experienced. The concept of a soft launch is a good idea but probably better attempted with friends and family. What we encountered: The Good: - Went on a Friday didn't have long wait - Main course food quality was good - Friendly people who are trying hard The Challenges: - Positioned as North End Italian but décor and ambiance not even close. - Pricing not a match with the experience (food, service, wine selection, and ambiance. - Music from bar is very loud and doesn't fit with the restaurant. Under the current setup it should be its own business and not attached to the dining area As constituted Casta Diva has limited differentiating value over any other Italian restaurant but with higher prices, less appealing ambiance and less food and wine selection. It's new and still has a chance to succeed but will take some re-thinking in a number of areas. read more

This is the best gourmet Italian restaurant around! I stopped in for lunch yesterday and got the lunch portion of eggplant, prosciutto, and chicken. It was the perfect portion, and was perfectly cooked. In the good weather you can sit out on the deck which overlooks the water. What else could you ask for? read more

We've eaten twice at Casta Diva, and the food ranged from very good to OK. At our last visit, the service was extremely slow, probably the fault of the kitchen. Our appetizers arrived some long time after we had finished our salads, and then another long time passed before we got our entrees. [The restaurant was only about half full.] In addition, the restaurant is very noisy, with hard surfaces on the floor, walls and ceiling. Acoustic tile on the ceiling would probably help a lot. I don't think we'll be eating there again. read more

I so want this place to succeed. The area needs it. I'll start with the positive. The food was excellent. Ordered pizzas and veal for lunch. Sadly not much else good to say. The atmosphere was pretty nonexistent. Lunch was dead and the place was way too quiet. The bartender that waited on our table was polite and friendly but the service speed was awful. We arrived at 12:30 for lunch and didn't get out the door until 2:15. There seems to be any lack of knowledgeable management or any type of marketing. I work less the 1/2 a mile away and had no idea they had been open for months. During my visit it seemed like there was a bartender working and a runner. Ate there with a group last night, they are in a soft opening , so giving them a break on the rating because the staff was so nice and the food was very good. The waitstaff is learning so not the best yet and the food took a long time to get to our table.I was told most of it is cooked to order, so its not a place that prepares it in 15 min fast food style. Average food at an expensive price.! The grilled oysters were rather bland and the pollo dragoncello was drenched in a very heavy thick sauce only tasting the flavor of tarragon. The roasted potatoes literally had no taste at all. The service was incredibly slow but I believe it was due to a lack of staff. The waitresses were working hard and the bartender Kristen was great. The waterfront deck and the interior of the restaurant lacks the ambiance you would expect. Very cold appearing with off white walls and just a few pictures scattered about. Needs MUCH more attention to the decor to make it more inviting.. Some wall lanterns, cascading plants and dim lighting may be a good start. The patio definitely could use more flower boxes, strung lights, candles, fountain etc to give it a more quaint and romantic feel. As it stands now, I would not go back. Hoping since it just opened, they are still in the process of decorating and improving the overall operations of this restaurant. We dined at Casta Diva for the first time last night. When we arrived, at 7pm, the dining room was far from full. The person at the front desk told us that the restaurant was short on staff, there would be a wait for the table and the service would be slower than normal. The wait was not bad - about 15 minutes. Very good bread served here. Salads (with meal) were fresh. The food is excellent - we shared a chicken parm, our friends had veal parm and glazed salmon. Everyone enjoyed. The service was slow but the server was very pleasant and the manager/owner made a point of coming out to the table on a couple of occasions to update us on status and check in to see if things were OK. This restaurant has very high potential but they need to get the staffing under control if they are going to make it. read more

My husband and I went with 8 other people on July 12. We had all looked at the menu online and were looking forward to a wonderful dinner. The menu we were handed was about 1/2 of what was online. There were 3 things on the reduced menu that were not available. They offered to substitute lobster for the scallop dish. ( At a higher price.) My husband ordered it and was very disappointed. The lobster was a dry tail that was split and grilled on top of white rice that was supposed to be risotto with pancetta. If I hadn't shared my meal ( Veal Chianti) he would have left hungry. 2 others in our party had the same thing. The manager came to our table and when we told her our concerns she became very defensive and came back with a bowl of rice that had some pancetta in it. No one was very interested in it as we had finished our meal. Most of our meals were not hot and the bread was stale. We were expecting the manager to make some adjustment to the bill or offer dessert or at least coffee. She did neither. In fact we were never offered anything else but the bill. I would have been more generous in my rating if we weren't treated as though they just wanted us to leave. They have opened recently and would have liked to try to return after they worked through some problems but after such shabby treatment we won't be back. read more

We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We were curious to try it since the new owners took it over and did so much work. They did an excellent job. We went a few times with other couples and had awesome food and superior service. The servers and bartenders are very accomdating and took care of all our needs. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. We couldn't wait to attend the grand opening. Upon entering the lounge, we were thrilled to see the way it was decorated and the way the appetizers were presented. The fresh pasta station was outstanding. The people they had doing the wine and tequila tastings were very friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere in the lounge was extremely festive and lively. We talked to so many people that we never met and everyone was very impressed. Our meal choices were fantastic. They ended the evening with champagne, dessert, and dancing. The experience was above and beyond what we expected. The quality of the food and the service has been consistently top quality whether we were out for a weeknight meal with friends, a weekend date night, or a grand opening! read more

Went for a dinner out with my girl and her father. Service was deathly slow and the bar was severely understock. Bartender actually apologized for a bar that was "so understocked it's ridiculousl.". Food took forever to arrive and the pasta though very tastey was undercooked in two of the dishes. Pan seared chicken was quite bland but the veal was good. Seating area was very bright and the walls were very plain with no pictures so the voices rebounded and carried far to well. Overall a bad experience and if I want to spend that much on Italian food I will go to Allora. We will not return. read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant, but it was not a good experience. They have been open for about a month now, when we first walked in it was really nice! The floor in the bar was coming up, but I figured it might have just happened and they will fix it later. We sat down and went to order drinks, they were already out of some drinks. We waited a few minutes, but still no drinks. The waiter apologized for the delay, then we ordered the appetizer, but they were out of what we wanted, So we decided just to do drinks. We sat there for 20 minutes and still no drinks (mind you it was not busy at all). We decided to just leave because it had almost been 30 minutes and we had nothing. The staff was really nice, but no one explained what was going on and seemed confused about what was going on. I really wanted to like it, maybe I will try it again a few months from now. read more

Amazing! We came in with a HUGE crowd for lunch while in town for a skating event. The food was fantastic! The service was even better. Out service was quick, responsive, and agile!! Great food. Been there several times and have thoroughly enjoyed each meal. The bruschetta and Caprese are great appetizers - both dressed with the right amount of dressing. Pasta Alfredo has a nice rich but light Alfredo sauce and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I also loved the sherry cream sauce in the lobster ravioli - which was filled with lobster. Good wine list. Initial review. Decor - 1 of 5. Grey paint not going to cut it. Noisy - Borderline unbearable in the dining room. Prices - 25% higher than where they need to be. Please skip the Groupons, please. Service - fair to awful. Beyond they wait, no dishes cleared, no water, no checks on new drinks. Slow. Manager - They visit often to explain that things are slow. Nice people for sure. Food - Pretty good, but no pasta sides with veal or chicken dishes. Potatoes or veggies only. Seafood salad app OK but 2 small shrimp, squid, and octopus for $16. Skip it. Soup or salad included with entrees, but they charged me $2 extra for the lukewarm minestrone. Check your tab. Misc - I've never seen a restaurant with some many people walking around. Servers, bus boys, managers, hostesses, young people. Not sure what's up with that, but very strange. Wines - Small wine list. Bottle prices reasonable. Need more Italian wines. Review update: party of 2 for dinner on a Sunday. Place wasn't busy, staff was attentive and friendly. Bread and oil was much much better from when I went during soft opening. Each got side salads, good average size, and nice fresh crunchy salad. Margarita pizza was DELICIOUS! Definitely recommend. Stuffed filet, was not what expected, but very great and would also recommend. Dessert menu could have some more options as most that were (available) were all mousse. They were out of tiramisu and cheesecake. Only complaint would be the wait time for food. Salads took more than 10/15 min and there was only 3 other tables. Food came out a little slow also, but was very hot and fresh! Much better experience than before, and we will definitely be back! Thanks! read more

I'm giving this place one star under protest because I can't post my comments without at least one! I'm part of a group of friends who enjoy eating out on the weekends after a long workweek. We had been to the former Giuseppe Grille over the years but stopped going because the horrible, musty stench of the old, rotting carpets ruined our appetites. I read a favorable article about the new Casta Diva in my FB newsfeed & was happy to know the place had been gutted out & remodeled. I checked out the menu on their website which looked pricey but I don't mind paying a little extra for excellent quality food. Unfortunately, we never got to taste it because the hostess refused to seat us anywhere in the restaurant except at the bar on a Sat. at 6 pm without a reservation after parking in an almost empty parking lot. There wasn't a single patron seated at ANY tables that we could see, altho a few patrons sucked it up & agreed to eat at the bar. When we complained that their website doesn't state RESERVATIONS ONLY, the hostess explained that it was only for that night because there were only 3 servers working on a Sat. night & they also stopped taking reservations to limit the number of patrons!!! REALLY???? How do the owners expect to operate a successful restaurant without servers & refusing to seat patrons?? I wish we had checked the yelp reviews first & won't be going back until we see at least 4 stars here, which I doubt will ever happen at this rate! read more

Big fan of everything! We have been to both the main restaurant for dinner and the cafe for breakfast/lunch many times. The food is upscale Italian with an authentic flare and reasonably for the area and the quality. Understandably the staff is new and is still working out kinks, however our service was acceptable given the soft opening circumstances. So disappointed. This has a lovely deck overlooking a quite pond with ducks and an occasional fisherman. The location, ambiance, and view can't be beat. It is under new ownership and has only been open less than a month. Unfortunately it shows. We ordered an appetizer and two salads plus drinks. We arrived just before 6 PM. The drinks took far too long and one was not what was ordered (no watermelon garnish even though they had fried watermellon on the menu - they said they were out!) The appetizer we had was grilled oysters and it was OUTSTANDINGLY good. Perhaps it was so good because we waited nearly an hour for it to come. Our salads were to be first but they took another 15 minutes (7:15). The fried watermelon and feta salad was also outstanding (be sure to check if they have any!). However a second salad with added grilled salmon came with a piece of salmon that tasted like it was old last week. It couldn't be eaten for fear of getting sick. A second drink (same as first) came completely different with orange (vs lime the first time) and tasted off. It had to be returned, and by the time the replacement came (OK this time), our meals were finished. I will go back because it has such great potential. I'd encourage people to try it, but just be forewarned that it may be absurdly slow. read more

Had a meal here with my family and had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious and atmosphere very friendly and inviting. As a resident of Boston I love being surround by food and art, and this place nails both! I loved the North-end Italian cuisine, and beautiful paintings, asked the owners all paintings in the restaurant are made by professional local artists, found it to be inspiring that they have already ingrained itself within the community. We went here today for lunch. I read through the past reviews and unfortunately not much has changed in the two months they've been open. We were the first customers and were greeted warmly. We sat at a table in the bar area (inside) overlooking the lake - and froze! The thermostat on the air conditioner unit read 66! The place has an unpleasant smell to it and there is nothing to break the noise level. We ordered drinks (the Diva Delight was good with a solid pour) and our food. I ordered the Chicken Marsala which was very good though the chicken was in bits versus being a whole breast, and red roasted potatoes which were crunchy outside, soft inside, and well seasoned. My husband ordered the meatball panini with the tomato basil soup as his side. The soup arrived cold. Once heated, he said it was very good as was his panini. My daughter ordered the chicken parm panini with the chicken lemon drop soup side (also cold). They brought her an eggplant parm panni. Once she got the correct order, she also said it was very good. It's too bad the service was not up to par. The food took 40 minutes to arrive - remember we were the first customers there. The bread/appetizer plates (unused) and the setting for the 4th person were never cleared from the table. The bill arrived and we were charged for the tomato basil soup side. We asked the waitress and she said she forgot to tell us that the tomato soup is an extra $2.50. This makes no sense as my daughter was not charged for her side of soup and they are listed as the same price on the menu. We felt the lunch prices were reasonable, however, I don't think I would go for dinner, when the prices are almost double, unless I knew the rest of the experience was worth it. We all enjoyed our food but it often is the little things that make or break a restaurant. read more
