Tried Casta Diva for the first time tonight and it didn't disappoint. Everyone loved their meals, portions were good and staff is friendly and accommodating. My sister had the Vitello con Chianti and she said it was the best meal she's had in a long time. My daughter and niece had the Chicken Marsala and loved it. I had the Chicken Parmigiana and the chicken was nice and thin and you could cut it with your fork and the sauce on the chicken and pasta was delicious. Great atmosphere and food. Checked out their website first (some pages 'broken' - should have been a red flag). Friday, close to 5 pm and almost 100% empty but hostess seemed to hesitate when we said 'no' to her question as to whether we had reservations. We asked to sit near the water and assumed from her reaction all the reservations were on their way but no one ever showed up so were confused by the initial reaction as if it would be hard to seat us. Food we got was amazing but service was very slow. What really got us was that the prices on menu were about 30% higher than what is listed on the website so that led to 'sticker shock'. Felt like 'bait and switch'. Advise not to put prices on the website if don't have the bandwidth to keep the web pages updated. Bar area was very 'noisy' even with only a few customers in it. We also had a spontaneous dinner here tonight. After several years absence from Giuseppes, we gave the Diva a shot. Very few customers in bar on a Fri night. Still suffers from Covid. Host happy to greet us back. Jess, was a prompt and attentive server. Bartender made excellent $10 martinis. Escargot were excellent, hot buttery and garlicky. Entrees of Polo Beatrice had tasty parmesan sauce but could use more veggies. Scallopini Michaelangelo full of veal and shrimp, neither too salty or cold. Both winners. Manager/Host should have stopped by our table as very few diners in the bar but we will return. read more

Disappointing all around. Service is extremely understaffed/slow, food is just plain bad and expensive - quite a combination. 4 people, 1 appetizer, 2 split meals and 2 drinks each (beer & wine) was $165. There for 2 hours...and not because we wanted to linger. It was an hour before we got our appetizer, an hour and 15 before we got our second drink - at the bar ourselves. Just total crap. read more

We liked it. The escargot is served out of the shells which was odd at first but the sauce was tasty and the snails were tender. Hubby had veal parm which was just ok. My Bolognese lasagne was good. The sauce had lots of body and the meat sauce was well done. The lobster ravioli was good and the salmon had a molasses drizzle that was very tasty. Their wine list paired well with the food. The creamy asparagus soup special was delish and the lemon drop soup was just zesty enough. We will return when next we visit our family on the east coast. read more

The chef at Casta Diva made me lactose free chicken and broccoli fettuccine Alfredo with my own lactose free ingredients. To say I'm grateful for the chef's kindness is such an understatement. Never get to enjoy real Italian food anymore with my food allergies but this chef made my dreams come true! It was so delicious you couldn't even tell it was made with lactose free ingredients. Called in a take out for two dishes on Sunday night about 620pm. We were given a 20-30 min window. I walked in to the hostess station after 30 mins. The bar had only about 8-10 patrons and some others outside. The main dining room was empty. After waiting 5 or so minutes, someone finally came out to greet me. She then went to check on the order and returned a few minutes later saying it was being finished up and would be out shortly. I then proceeded to wait for another 25 minutes alone without any kind of reasoning or word from staff. Not quite sure why I waited for the order but it finally came out. After paying I received a simple "enjoy your food." While the food was tasty, I can't understand why it took an hour to get a chicken and pasta dish and eggplant parm. The lengthy wait was never addressed and dismissed as if nothing happened. The 2 stars are for the food but the service is nonexistent. Finally, the other time I visited here it was a much longer wait than given over the phone. read more

Came here for the first time for a work lunch last week. The place was completely empty at rush hour lunch time 12 noon. We were the only party in the entire restaurant. We had a bigger group about 8 people so we got to sit in the back room with a large long table with a view of the water. We were wishing it was warmer out to sit on the deck outside but alas I will have to return to enjoy that part of this venue. Since we were the only ones there at the time I thought we were going to get fast service but it was very slow to say the least. If you are going here and on a time limit let the server know right away. We didn't have a time limit per se but we're all very surprised by the slow service. I got the burger with cheese and bacon. It was cooked how I like it, the portion of fries was very small though. I would want to go back and see if the service improves and how the outdoor deck is. We live nearby and wanted this place to be a favorite. We sat at the bar at 1:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. There was one guy at the bar with an empty pint. We were hungry. We sat at the bar for about 5-8 minutes. No bartenders. We left. Too bad. They have such a nice spot. read more

Wait at Olive Garden down the street too long?... Why are you at Olive Garden anyways? Go here instead. You won't be disappointed. We were worried when we walked in as there were only a few tables taken, but they recently opened. Nicely done inside- open and clean. The pappardelle carbonara was excellent. As were the cheese tortellini and chicken alfredo. Pasta is house-made and delicious. The entrees come with soup or salad. Dipping oil was fresh prepared with garlic cloves, balsamic, chili flakes, and parmesan. I hope this place makes it. Should be nice in the summer with the gorgeous view of the pond. read more

Staff was extremely friendly! That is the two stars ! Food was ok. I had Piccata . It was ok . There was maybe 5 capers in it . Definitely not a $28 meal . That was a joke !!!!! There was maybe 4oz of pasta . Kids chicken parmigiana.... $12.00 ! Wait ... what ?? It was 3oz of pasta and maybe 4oz of breaded chicken . Come on ! Veal dish was good but the green beans tasted like burnt plastic . I don't mind paying the price if you get enough food on your plate . (I'm a tiny girl .... I don't expect much ... just don't want to leave hungry after $28 !! ) not sure how long this will last but thinking with those prices you won't get much returning customers . Had 8 people at their official grand opening. Bar: mixed drinks were weak, wine tasting hit or miss. Appetizers decent, nothing outstanding. EXTREMELY loud in the bar. We were in 2nd seating, which started one half hour late not even counting the 20 minutes standing outside during a fire alarm. Into the dining room, our table was set up for 7, not 8. Another table had to be set up. Salads mostly white lettuce. Three tiny pieces of bread we're served, no seconds. Grilled ribeye was tasty, but only 1/2" thick. 5 french fries. Five. First coke was flat. Dining room EXTREMELY noisy as well. We didn't stay for dessert as 4 hours had already passed and it was much too noisy. A band and dancing followed our departure. NIT a good value for $150 per couple. My we've eaten there once before - the food was better then but service was lacking. This time the service was better, but the food so-so. Well give it one more try. The restaurant has been nicely redecorated by the new owners, but it totally lacks sound attenuation. Wall decorations consist of a few amateur paintings. Friendly staff. Heard bad and fairly ok reviews of this restaurant and waited a couple of months until they were established to for my own opinion. So we arrive tonight the restaurant had an odd smell to it. There was only 6 of us in the restaurant and staff could not keep up. Fire roasted soup came out and was COLD!! Like right out of fridge!! Our meals Zucchini risotto was was undercooked for both dishes and over priced at $22 and $24. The outside tables were NOT clean and the bus staff walked by them several timrs. The location of the restaurant overlooking the pond is beautiful but they need to pick up on there quality of food and service in order to be successful. The food here is excellent and really reasonably priced. They're going through some growing pains since it just opened, but the food is worth it. Had a great dinner at Casta Diva last night! First time there, but it won't be our last. Upscale Italian, very unique for this area. We had great seating on the patio overlooking the pond. Comfortable and quiet. Friendly hostess and wait staff. Mussels were excellent along with their bruschetta. Can't remember the names of the menu items, however all three meals were delicious with great presentations. Their pasta sauce is hardy, thick, and full-flavored. Pasta was cooked al denti, as it should be. Lasagna portion was very large! Highly recommend that you try this restaurant! read more

Three of us went for a birthday dinner on 12/7/2018 at 6:00. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and seated right away. A good-sized crowd was there. Very attractive interior. Our "server-in-training" was Sephra. In training? She could not have been more professional and attentive. One friend had been there previously - she was impressed with new items on the menu.We were all blown away by the choices - they all sounded creative and appealing. Pan-seared scallops with a chestnut-risotto - A++. Autumn haddock - A++. Sides - all A++!! The head chef Diane greeted us and conversed briefly. What a gem for this establishment! Will we be back? BEST ITALIAN AROUND! Best veal parmigiana I have ever had. I have been going to Aurelio's restaurants (chef/owner) since he was located on Wall St. in Worcester. We followed him over to his Chandler St. location as well. The only downside for me now is driving thirty minutes to his new location in Northborough. But, his food is worth the drive...it is the best Italian food around consistently good! read more

My wife and I wanted to try this restaurant as they are very close and a friend raved how good the food was. The food was excellent but that is where it stopped. We were seated promptly. When I entered I thought I was going into a cafeteria. It was so overly bright and bland. There were a few pictures on the walls but that was it. Our food came out promptly and it was excellent. We finished our food and we're given our check, a cash register slip placed on the table very tacky. Then we waited and waited. We were able to get the attention of the hostess. She let our waitress know we wanted to check out then we continued to wait. We finally checked out. I won't go back to eat in . I think it would be a good place for take out food but that's it. Oh be careful when you enter and exit the parking lot. There is a 18 inch hole where they paved around a sunken storm drain cover. read more

We really enjoyed the food at this new restaurant on Solomon Pond. The drinks were good, and the bread was delicious! The stuffed salmon was really fresh and yummy. Glad to see the place has gotten a nice face lift. We'll definitely give it another try. read more

Wanted to try this place as we heard it was going to be run by someone who had an extensive background and had places in the North End. Friday night at 6pm parking lot was not busy at all. sat at a table in bar area. They did a nice job renovating the place. Service was agonizingly slow at best. Waitress said main dining room was super busy - wait what? 20 minutes to get a drink order. 40 minutes to get meal which was at best average not even close to North End standards. Total 1 hour 40 minutes for nothing special. Now that I read the reviews we would have stayed away. Lingiunes food is way better as another reviewer pointed out. Too bad - they have such a nice spot here and made the place look super nice but I cannot imagine they will last with the lack of service and average food for what they are charging. read more
