Solid 4/5 option for breakfast. Staff is really nice and helpful, but just know that it's not the type of place to be in a rush - if you are, get the buffet instead. Everything is always really clean, and the view outside with the waterfall makes for a great selfie area! All the food and drinks always come out as expected. The best breakfast I've had at a Hyatt. I ordered the corned beef brisket hash and my wife got the buttermilk pancakes. Our server was fantastic, both friendly and fast. I've had I guess, the pleasure of dining at Cassis many times in my past travels to Atlanta, GA. This restaurant is located inside of the Grand Hyatt Buckhead, featuring a bar and lounge setting on the 2nd floor and a formal dining room setting on the 1st. My reasoning behind the 3 star rating is based off of the inconsistent experiences I've had on both the food and customer service aspect. I don't like the fact that for the breakfast buffet they seem to stop making any more fresh food almost an hour before closing. The buffet itself is mediocre at best and that even on a "good day" that you wake up early enough to get the food that they consider to be fresh. I've requested take out orders as well as dined here and both have been just okay. My Hyatt membership allows for breakfast options so i usually choose to have my food made fresh to order right off the menu instead of eating from the picked over food from the buffet. Oh and skip the Shrimp and Grits.. they were awful on two separate occasions here. Lunch is a tad bit better than the breakfast experience. On the occasions that I've called down and ordered lunch, they seem to move a lot quicker whereas the breakfast orders almost always seem to never be done within the quoted amounted of time it's supposed to be done but moving on.. The best items so far for lunch have to be the salmon and I will take it a step further and end this review by saying that the best part of dining for breakfast downstairs would be the overall ambiance. Taking in the views of the lovely garden outback with the waterfall is soothing... other than that I can't say that I'd eat here if I had to spend my own money :-D read more

The Smoked Duck Mac N Cheese is one the 2013 Atlanta Convention and Visitor's Bureau Signature 100 so I had to stop in and try it. It was my 68th dish off the list and it's so good I literally stopped in again the next day to have it again (I was staying at the hotel don't judge!!!). That Mac N Cheese will change your damn life and make you never think about Mac the same way again. It's made with Gouda cheese and has a nice layer of crumbled ciabatta croutons on top. I'm thinking about missing my flight today just to go back and try it again!!!!! I also had a grilled chicken Ceasar. It wasn't bad, but I'm not betting the farm that it wins a chicken Ceasar competition any time soon. Good amount of chicken in it though! read more

We had the breakfast buffet and it was well worth it and reasonably priced for the great quality of food, presentation and excellent customer service. What really set the experience apart was our server, Hana. She was incredible. She was warm, made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and happy. She worked so hard to make us feel special. It is rare that I have experienced customer service to a level that made me want to share with others just how incredible Hana is but also the great job Cassis has done to set themselves apart. I have been eating at Cassis regularly for the past 6 years. I guess I am there so often that I overlooked, and ought to write a long overdue review. Service is always impeccable!! I never have a problem with their service. There are a few staff changes for the past 6 years. Sad to see Tim & Timothy gone. Timothy the best server for me. Kristin has gone over to reservation. But glad that a few familiar faces still there. For the first many years, I was only there there to eat the pan-seared salmon, and very rarely the angus burger. The pan-seared salmon is always the highlight. I was very sad when the chef moved to another Hyatt location. So no more pan-seared salmon for me. Yes, pan-seared salmon is pan-seared salmon but the way the chef made this dish was simply divine. Anyhow, the Hyatt corporate had a new menu, none of the fish dish can match that pan-seared salmon. So I frequented the restaurant not as much but did like the angus burger with the fries. Good quality angus burger, non greasy and the fries tastes really good. read more

The food offering never changed, the items on the buffet line were cold and the buffet price was highly overpriced for what you get. I like this place for breakfast, either their buffet or ala carte. I haven't tried their lunch and dinner, mostly because I was always out of the hotel. The quality of the breakfast meals is always very high and fresh, while the atmosphere of this restaurant is very nice and with their excellent service, this place deserve a five stars. Had a great lunch here today with friends! This place is a hidden gem, low key and quiet so no wait or crowds or noise and the food is delicious. I had the kale and beet salad with goat cheese for $12 and it was very good. The portion was surprisingly large and very filling, not to mention the salad was plated beautifully and the beets were gorgeous! My friends had the small portion of the Cobb Salad for $10 and it looked yummy. The service was great and we didn't feel guilty about lingering to chat because they weren't very busy. This would be a great lunch spot for a private business meeting or a relaxed lunch with girlfriends. It's on the ground floor of the Grand Hyatt so it doesn't get a lot of light but they do have a cool patio overlooking a waterfall for ambience. Hostess very friendly, and server knowledgeable about the menu and made a great recommendation (I was between the mozzarella panini and turkey sandwich and he very decidedly recommended the turkey. There weren't any tables open outside by the japanese waterfall (only 2 tables out there) so I sat just next to the open doors inside the restaurant. Very nice! Great ambiance. Now to the food. It was good, but not exceptional. Maybe I'm spoiled after staying at the Sheraton in Carlsbad, CA (their food was FABULOUS), but I wasn't blown away. It was quite tasty, though, and great presentation. The turkey in my sandwich was a little dry (which was a salad mixed with mayonnaise, so it really wasn't that big of a deal. Just wasn't what I was expecting). It did come with a small plate of ok bread, but the vegetable chips that came with the sandwich were almost certainly out of a bag. We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Most restaurants in the area seem to be open around 11am, and we wanted to get an early start on our day. I work in the hotel industry and I knew going in that the hotel restaurant will be most likely be open, accept walk-ins, the food would be average, and the prices will be on the higher side. Manage your expectations and you'll enjoy the experience for what it is. Cassis offers a breakfast buffet for $24 and a la carte options ranging from $12-20+. Coffee is $5 and smoothies and juices are $6. We had arrived at an odd time when they were still seating for breakfast but were wrapping up the buffet in about 20-30 minutes. One member of our party decided to have the buffet and the rest of us ordered a la carte. I got the Pork Belly Beneditct, my sister had the French Toast, and my brother wanted the waffles, plus bagel and a side of bacon. The food was good/average. The juices and smoothies are small portions, the size of a small juice glass, so maybe 4-6 oz. In contrast the serving size for juice at True Food Kitchen is much larger for a dollar or two more The kitchen seemed to be in the weeds as it took a while for our food to arrive, and everything arrived staggered. The best meal was probably the buffet and my sister's French Toast. My brother's waffles were small, round and looked like they were the frozen kind (kind of like Eggo waffles but thicker and smaller). The total for the four of us came to under $100 before taxes and gratuities. Our server was friendly but had to be reminded to get a few things like the bagel and the accompaniments to the waffles, but he was always stopping by the table to check out us. The best thing about Cassis is that it is relatively quiet. There were not too many guests in the restaurant at the time--maybe 12 or 15, including the 4 of us. The hidden gem is the a man-made waterfall outside that you didn't know was there until you walk into the restaurant. If it's cool, there are a couple of tables by the waterfall, and there are a few booths inside by the window. Definitely take some time for photo ops post-meal. read more

Very poor service during breakfast. The waiter was nowhere to be seen during most of the meal. Spent an hour with business associates and we got one refill of coffee, which was lukewarm at that. As soon as the bill was paid, it was obvious that the waiter had no interest in attending to us, refilling coffee, etc. The $22 buffet was mediocre, typical institutional hotel food with no one attending it. I believe Grand Hyatt is a category 4 hotel of this brand. We had the Mother's day brunch buffet here on May 9, 2010. The food was excellent with a wide variety of selection, live music and a japanese garden right behind it. However, overall i was dissappointed with the experience. At $58 per head, you would expect impeccable service and standards but alas. The buffet was setup partly in the corridor/partly in the ballroom adjacent, no tags on what each food was, we had to constantly ask what most of the dishes were, omellete station had 2 chefs and a small line, pasta station had 1 chef, we had to wait quite a bit for our turn there, a concierge to help you guide through the selection was non-existent, most of the staff was very coordinating however to help you select. I've dined around the world in many 4/5 start hotel buffets so comparing it to those i think this is not worth my repeat business however if you simply want a change in menu/venue i wouldnt mind saying its decent. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful breakfast at the Hyatt, Cassis Restaurant this past weekend. The restaurant overlooks a beautiful garden with a large waterfall. The view is spectacular and you can choose to eat outside by the garden (al fresco) or inside with a view of the garden. The restaurant has a reasonable priced ($22) breakfast buffet which has many options including, omlettes (made to order), fresh fruit, sausage, pastry, cereal, eggs, bacon and Starbucks coffee. There are also healthy options, including chicken sausage, egg white omlettes, dried fruit, juice etc. There is always pancakes, waffles, or french toast on the breakfast bar. I had the pancakes and they were some of the best I have had recently. The service was first rate. Sterling, Joseph and Zack all refilled my coffee and juice and were extremely attentive. Breakfast is served until 11:30. The breakfast was delicious, the ambiance and view was amazing and the service was first rate. We will definately be back. read more
