So I'm a local and have come here for years. In the last two days we have ordered pizza which is good pizza. Two days ago we dined in had guests in town. The server forgot to put in the pizza order. So everyone had their food except for the person that ordered pizza. We all waited and had our food get cold till the pizza came. Today we decided to order pick up and called it in. 1 large combo pizza. When we came to pick it up the server started looking for the order. Asked the other server if he took our call and he said yes. Well he never put the order in so they wanted me to sit there for a minimum of 20 minutes to try and get our pizza ready. It's too bad cause the food here is super good but the service is beyond terrible. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE. I'll take my business elsewhere. For those wanting good service and pizza. Base camp pizza, Blue dog pizza, or Lake Tahoe Pizza Company. Great service at those places as well!! read more

I've never been so disappointed in a local restaurant...our Nachos was absolutely horrible...chips and steak was burnt and underneath all the toppings was total MUSH..yuck!!! Beef tacos had no flavor, ahi tacos was raw? ( was it even sushi grade?) Server didn't even offer if she could replace or offer anything to make it better? We know it's not her fault, but the cook should have made some sort of apology on food that's not edible!!! read more

Stop in for a few drinks on tap at the bar while on vacation. Comfortable atmosphere inside and the bartender/waitress was friendly. While there I saw on the menu that they offer a specialty gluten free crust pizza with cauliflower topping which I like to try next time. The menu offers more than just pizza and the patrons inside are likely locals and they are not noisy. There are televised monitors inside showing sports. Dine in or outdoors under the umbrellas if sunny. I like this place. It's located next to Safeway at Zephyr Cove. To the right from this mall is a walking path for Round Hill Pines/Kahle Park. read more

A group of us dined here over the weekend. The staff was nice and accommodating but the food and setting left more to be desired. The food seemed to be really hit or miss. My friend and I ordered the lemon chicken soup which was so salty that neither of us could palate it. I also had a burger which was very very average - thin, dry patty despite asking for medium rare. Nonetheless, another person in my group really liked the burrito bowl. It seems like you have to know what to order here. read more

Santa here, It is really frustrating when a company, with a good website, doesn't USE it to let its customers know what they are doing. I was hungry for breakfast. I went to the website to check the hours, look at the menu and headed down. I get here and there is a small sign on the door, basically letting you know that the entire staff is on vacation. WHAT'S up with that?! How about scheduling vacations and stay open? Couldn't you have just posted that on your website so I didn't have to drive there? This would have been a nice thing to do. I so irked, because they were rude last time I was there, I guess they were having a bad day, sort of just tossed the menu towards me and I ordered breakfast at 11:45. Went here last weekend around lunch time. Very friendly staff. I ordered the Thai Chicken lettuce wraps and tea. Had a nice assortment of unusual herbal teas. My husband ordered the cheese burger with fries. In my excitement of this food masterpiece, I forgot to take pictures. :( The Thai chicken wraps were great! Consisted of tender bites of saluted chicken breast, broccoli flowerets, carrot slivers, sautéed sliced tomatoes with transparent thai-like noodles in a sweet peanut-chili sauce. Lots of iceberg lettuce cups too. It was excellent, flavor, texture and presentation. My husbands hamburger was cooked perfectly and was juicy, served with iceberg lettuce, melted cheese on a toasted bun. We ate here back in July....had breakfast items. This place is a hidden gem in S. Lake Tahoe. I would recommend it as a place with great food and friendly staff. read more

We had a horrible breakfast experience the previous day. So we looked around for a new place to try. Casey's in Zephyr Cove was our pick. Nice restaurant with plenty of seating inside and out. Friendly staff, plenty on the menu and well priced. Food was really good and prepared quickly and as we ordered. This will be our breakfast joint on our next Tahoe visit. read more

Large portions and average taste. I was definitely unimpressed, but I can see the draw after a day at the beach when quantity trumps quality. Service was reasonably quick (except one order that forgot). I'd recommend sitting inside instead of the parking lot though. read more

All I can say is come here!!! The staff from Stephanie, Asia, Adela, Charolette, Jennalyn, Kalina, Mason, Joey and the kitchen staff are 5+ stars. No matter who you run into you will have an amazing experience. The food, drink and ambiance are next level. Even through breakfast, lunch and dinner rushes the staff is calm and attentive to everyone. I love this place! We love eating at Casey's whenever we are in town. It's a locals hangout that welcomes visitors. The waitstaff is attentive and service is prompt. The menu offers a variety of dishes to meet the needs of everyone in your party. Their sauces and dressings are homemade so depending on who makes it that day, it can be slightly different. Nice place and friendly. However, last visit there we ordered three entrees to go. They almost gave us the wrong order/bag, but someone stepped in just as we were leaving and realized the mistake and gave me the correct bag to go. No big deal. But when we got home, all three entrees were not prepared as we ordered. Cheese Quesadilla with no guac or sour cream came with guac and sour cream. Hamburger well-done was rare and bloody. French Dip sandwich came with Cole slaw in a tiny condiment cup that amounted to one bite. The employees are great, but I think the cook needs to read the orders a little more carefully. I'll probably eat there again because it's close and we normally like it, but I'll have to be sure it's prepared properly before accepting the food. read more

This is a very busy place. Being a restaurant owner, I respect the hard work of what appears to be the owners. During my Summer stay in lake Tahoe, I visit this restaurant at least once a week. However, last Sunday I went there for my usual shrimp Louie salad. It had wet, soggy, old lettuce. The surroundings, tables and countertop, were a mess. The employees were so scattered that they were almost yelling at each other. I'll give it another chance, but was extremely disappointed read more

We were staying close by, so Casey's was convenient. Service was good and very friendly. I had the daily special, a chicken bacon sandwich which was great! My wife had the Chicken fried steak, which was not so great - it was decent but not hand breaded and a pretty good chance it had been frozen. so we would return but try something else. read more

Poor representation of what they could be. Came for music but listened to the staff bitch for an hour left before it even started due to this issue. Poor wait staff! The only bright light was Liam! Lunch for 2. - Ambiance (4/5) Cozy environment to escape into from the Tahoe cold. - Service (2/5) Oh boy where to start. Slow and distracted. Milkshake came out after all the other parts of my meal. Asked if I wanted onions/cheese on my chili but not told that it would cost $0.50 extra per item. Cajun fries ordered but regular fries brought out. Solution? Give me some cajun seasoning rather than tossing them for me. - Chili, $2.95 (4/5) Really good chili, lots of ingredients, good flavor. - Western Bacon Burger, $11.95 (4/5) Really delicious burger, huge 1/2 lb portion. Juicy. Great ingredients. If I had one complaint, it would be that the bun gets really soggy and starts to fall apart toward the end. - Strawberry Milkshake, $3 add-on (5/5) Loved this milkshake. - Value (4/5) Price for the burger is a bit high but the portion justifies it. Now, considering I was overly full afterward, you could argue that you might prefer paying less for a smaller burger. - Final Word A really good place to eat in Tahoe; I'll definitely go back, but they really need to fix the service. Casey's does it right! They accommodated over 25 of us on a short notice and everyone loved their dinners. Then 2 days later we went in for a few burgers and they put mayo on them when we didn't know. So the waitress made it right! Everyone should give Casey's a try when in South Lake Tahoe. read more

This place is a little gem. In Safeway strip mall. Has great outside seating. We stoped in had breakfast it was so yummy. Had a good Bloody Mary and wife had Mamosa. Our waitresses so Awesome! Have good beer on tap. So if your around stop in and give it a try you wouldn't be disappointed. read more

Stopped here with my family to get some food after a long day in the sun, and both women (one tall, one with fake lashes ), greeted us rudely. We all sat down outside (3 kids, 4 adults), only to inform us that they don't serve parties over 6. Come on now!! Seriously?? They could've seated us separately, or maybe make an exception since a child was with us. We got up and left and went to Denny's where at least we were accommodated and treated with respect. Casey's staff is so rude for no damn reason. Bad business... glad we didn't spend our money there. read more

Not a super friendly place: it's busy and I got a feeling that unless they know you because you're a regular, you are not important. Staff are so task focused they are unable to look up and make eye contact, acknowledge, smile. Second issue is the food. Some things are good, but it's not consistent. Biscuits are hard, not enough gravy. Some food items were not hot (waffle, syrup, gravy). Been there, had the experience, no need to go back. read more

Normally the service and food is very good. However, lately they are forgetting things and not getting the orders right. I was really disappointed with the "Burrito Bowl", which was basically a bunch of chips, rice and beans. The burger we ordered was missing the items we asked for and had additional items we didn't want on it. The salads are always very good and that's my go-to at Casey's. Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and was able to get seated right away. Noticed that there are quite a few regulars that come by and that the staff can easily recall their orders so that was a nice touch. Host/Server was nice and accommodating from the get-go, telling customers to sit wherever they felt most comfortable. The waitress who took our order saved us a few dollars by letting me make a substitute rather than paying for an entree + two separate sides. Glad to know there's still good people out there that don't try to take advantage of you, especially in such a touristy area. Food was just as good as the service! Would definitely come back next time I'm in town. read more

We stopped by Zephyr Cove for breakfast and, at first, the experience was fine. We were given our bill and placed our credit card down. One server took the card, processed the payment, and returned it for us to sign. A short time later, another employee approached and asked for my husband's card again, claiming the payment hadn't gone through. Later, when I checked our credit card account, the charge appeared twice. We were assured the duplicate charge would be removed, but it still hasn't been, so we'll now have to spend time contacting the restaurant to resolve it. Unfortunately, things got even worse after breakfast. After spending more than $100, we stepped outside, grabbed our sunglasses from the car, and planned to take a quick five-minute walk to look at a boat by the lake. As I was putting things away in the car, a golf cart came speeding toward me and stopped abruptly, nearly hitting me. The driver immediately began yelling that we needed to move our car because we were not restaurant customers. I explained that we had literally just finished breakfast there and had spent over $100. His response was, "We don't care, you need to get your car out of here." I told him there was no reason to drive a golf cart at me or speak to me that way. A simple, polite conversation would have been sufficient. At that point, my husband and I decided to leave. Between the duplicate charge and the aggressive, disrespectful treatment afterward, it turned what had been a decent breakfast into a terrible experience. I've been a loyal customer at Casey's since the mid-2000s, back when it was still called Coyote Grill. What started as a favorite spot has only gotten better and better with every passing year. Today, under Asia's wonderful ownership, the restaurant has been taken to a whole new level. It's truly next-level in every way! Casey's has become a beloved gathering place for both locals and tourists alike. Tucked into the Safeway parking lot near the post office, dry cleaners, and other daily errands, it's the perfect convenient spot that feels like a hidden gem. The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming -- it's the kind of place where you love hanging out, catching up with friends, and even making new ones. But what truly sets Casey's apart is the incredible staff. Asia and Stephanie are simply the best. You can't walk through the door without being greeted with a warm hug and the feeling that you've just come home. The hospitality here is genuinely exceptional -- sincere, heartfelt, and top-notch. And then there's the food... oh my goodness, it's exquisite! The menu offers such a fantastic variety, from the delicious Polish pickle soup to mouthwatering French dips, fabulous steaks, and so many other delightful options. I always keep an eye out for the daily specials because they're consistently outstanding. The portions are ridiculously generous, and every bite is phenomenal. I find myself coming back almost every day because Casey's truly feels like home to me. The food, the service, the vibe -- everything is just perfect. I am writing this five star review for for the food and service. Please read on.. my husband and I are locals and have been coming here through several owners and changes. We went in last week for a brief snack while our kids were at a local dance. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and flautas. As usual, the food was delicious, and hit the spot. The service was fabulous. Char was very attentive and checked on us regularly. We have been in here several times since it has become Casey's, but usually during the day. We had never met the new owner until this evening. The new owner came over to us, asked us how the service and food was, which we told him it is always great. Then he went on and on about yelp reviews and the importance of them yadda yadda. We didnt mind at first. But he continued to stay and I just wanted to eat, and its rude to eat when someone is talking to you. So my food went cold. Finally when he left, we watched him hit every other table and guest. It is nice to be "involved" but begging for yelp reviews is unprofessional, pretty sure illegal, and this guy was WAY overbearing. This place has always run smoothly on its own. I hope the manager steps off the guests a bit. He will run them away. Go for the food and fantastic staff! If you see the owner... good luck! read more

After some pondering, my mom settled on Casey's breakfast special and I chose the build your own soufflé omelette (bacon & cheddar cheese, my go to duo). Bert's definitely does. The food here is excellent, and apparently the secret is out. Even during the off-season there's usually a wait. It's worth it! On this visit, my wife and I had come to Tahoe for the day to rent e-bikes and needed some serious fuel before heading out on our adventure. Since it was already midday, I went with lunch and ordered the Reuben. Great choice! Piled high with pastrami, sauerkraut, melted Swiss and plenty of dressing on nicely grilled rye. My wife went the opposite direction and stuck with breakfast: over-medium eggs, French toast and bacon. Once her plate showed up, I immediately started questioning my lunch decision. So naturally, I compromised and ordered one blueberry pancake for us to share. And THAT pancake deserves a special mention. Bert's doesn't use some generic premixed "just add water and an egg" pancake mix. They make their batter from scratch, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Light, fluffy and beautifully browned. And no sad little freeze-dried berries hiding inside! These were fresh blueberries bursting with flavor. Add some butter and syrup and you've got one seriously good pancake. The service was every bit as enjoyable as the food. Our waitress and the folks keeping the coffee and water topped off were friendly, attentive and genuinely fun. We had some great laughs with them, which made the meal even better. Bert's has that increasingly rare combination of scratch-made food, generous portions, friendly service and an unpretentious old-school café atmosphere. There may be a wait, but there's a reason people are waiting. Highly recommended for breakfast or lunch on the South Shore. And whatever you order, get a pancake. Trust me.

Beyond that, they turn out some incredibly delicious, mostly made from scratch diner classics. The savory crepes Benedict are also out of this world.
