Solid restaurant next to the Safeway in Zephyr's Cove where we usually shop for groceries when we are in South Lake Tahoe. We stopped by after spending the afternoon paddle boarding and kayaking at Kiva Beach, tired and hungry. Not surprisingly, we ordered a LOT of food, to-go, so we could eat back at our timeshare unit at The Ridge. Standouts: - pepperoni pizza ($19.95) - chicken flautas appetizer ($14.95) with nacho chips and cheese - cinnamon churros ($6.95) served with rich chocolate and caramel sauces Everything else we ordered - Hawaiian burger, regular cheeseburger, fried chicken sandwich, spicy chicken wings - was adequate. I appreciated that they gave us ranch and ketchup packets and a lot of napkins! I was a little surprised they charged us an 18% large party gratuity even though there were only 4 of us and we took the food to go. We didn't even hang around waiting for our order - we went shopping next door at Safeway for car snacks for the drive back home. Total bill after tax and the aforementioned gratuity was about $160. They have two dining areas, and I noticed they have Guinness on tap, so wouldn't mind stopping by again on our next trip for pizza and churros.

Restaurant in a conveniently located mini mall, next to the grocery store. Close to where we often stay for weeks. Come from the sand in sandals and sit on a picnic bench outside. Serves a little of everything for versatility: - Mexican - Burgers - Pizza - Fish and chips - beer, happy hour, a couple dollars off Prices, as is with most of Tahoe, I suppose, are a bit high for the quality and quantity. All was not memorable. Fish and chips was the best of what we ordered. Fries and tots were good.

Local joint with Happy Hour 7 days a week from 4-6pm: $1 off select wine and beer and apps that aren't on the regular menu. We got the fried calamari, which was definitely fresh out of the freezer. My SO enjoyed the strips versus the standard rings. Generous happy hour portion! Baked brie with roasted garlic and chili sauce was an interesting concept. Sadly, the brie was over baked and rubbery, and the savory-sweet-salty combo just didn't quite hit the mark. The Irish stew was hearty, yet very bland. Even a good dousing of salt didn't help much. Service was fast and attentive.

Came here since we were craving an American diner. Seemed like there were a bunch of regulars at this restaurant. Favorite would have to be the waffles from chicken and waffles and bbq wings. The waffles were sweet and had the cake flavor almost like dessert. Bbq wings were delicious, chicken was nice and tender. Ordered tostada too which had guacamole, beans, cheese, lettuce, and chicken. Delicious crust. Ordered fish and chips as well and was solid. 6 different dishes came out to around $138 with tip. Waitress was attentive and helpful. Casual family restaurant.

Super yummy food, we went there for Father's Day breakfast! The prices? HIGH! Red Hut a mile away is less, and open longer, but we were here, and the food was near! The ONLY issue I noted is that STOP BREAKFAST AT NOON! Now, I like a late one sometimes, we just made the cutoff We ate outside, and dogs are ok out there (not that we brought ours), so not sure about inside, looks like a regular diner. Various seating options, all with umbrellas, I prefer a chair to the picnic table options. The food? tasty! But it is weird, they do NOT INCLUDE TOAST in a 2 eggs and chicken fried steak meal? why? I didn't get any biscuit either! Had to PAY EXTRA for toast. So dumb. Stop that. Give me the toast. Jeez. Service was ok but not consistent, and we had a long long long long long long wait for coffee refills. Did I say we had a long wait? was long.

The food was fantastic. Great flavors and portions. Wait staff were very friendly but it was very very busy when we were there. Just a bit of a wait for our check but overall really good place to eat lunch. We had the ahi tuna salad and Hawaiian burrito.

Overall, a fairly average brunch place in the area! I would give it 3.5/5 stars. Service was great! Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant gave me a fun casual diner vibe. I found the food to be decent, but nothing stood out too much. My breakfast sandwich was a little burnt, but the flavor was good! I definitely got a good amount of food with my order. I was a bit let down by the chicken and waffles. The chicken was alright but the waffles were incredibly soggy. I think portion sizes were good though, and that everything was affordable. I also really liked their hot sauce selection - I actually went to go find these before my vacay wrapped up haha!

This place is a hidden gem. Locally owned and they support a lot of charities and local businesses. This is where I discovered Dad & Son owned local hot sauce, which was amazing, I drenched it all over the hash-browns and added a dap on the egg Benedicts. We asked them where we can get the hot sauce and they were very knowledgeable. They gave us the backstory on the hot sauce and said the safeway next door supports their business and sells them there. After our meal, we definitely stopped by Safeway and bought 2 of their hot sauce to go. The place is nice and quiet, perfect for having a nice conversation with your group. It is very rare to see a diner place now a days that actually serve really good maple syrup (other diners always serve us table syrup, which I hate). They only serve maple syrup and it's from Vermont. The eggs benedict itself was okay, the hollandaise sauce was a little sweet for me. I would love it to have a hint of cajun seasoning to amplify the taste. The Swedish crepe was amazing - 10/10 would definitely order again. I am so glad we stopped by here.

Stopped here briefly during a two day trip to Lake Tahoe and have enjoyed eating here. We got a meal and a sandwich and I will be honest - their hash browns are the best I have ever tasted. It was so good that I ate them first and then the sandwich. I also love how the place is named after a dog and their service is very fast, with nice interior.

Stateline was so busy that hubby and I wanted to avoid the crowds after dealing with them all weekend. We were looking for somewhere quieter for breakfast before heading home on Sunday morning. We checked out of our hotel and started driving in towards Zephyr. I have fond Summer memories spent at a cabin on Elks point Rd that brought us into Casey's American Cantina! I knew worst case scenario we could grab a sandwich or something at this busy Safeway. Casey's was super busy and we got there before noon, so we could still order breakfast. I was stoked to sit down and enjoy a strong cup of Joe! This place does it right! I ordered two eggs medium with smothered hashbrowns. Added on onions, raw sliced jalapeños and sliced melted cheese for additional $1 for each. I was disappointed with the hashbrowns, but they weren't greasy. Hubby ordered the chilli cheese omlette with a bloody Mary! We both enjoyed our food and coffee. The service was superb and exceeded all of my expectations! They were jam packed and everyone helped and pulled their weight. It's nice to see a team work like a well oiled machine! I'll be back next time we're passing through or staying in South Lake! I appreciate you all to the Casey's staff! I need to know what kind of coffee you brew here.

This is my go-to spot! I am a vegetarian and their veggie burrito is one of the best I ever had! Also, everything they have; tacos, burgers, all can be substituted with impossible meat. My girlfriend is not veggie and she loves the place just as much as I do! read more

Dine in is Available of course with covid 19 precautions. I'm glad I chose this place for breakfast. The cinnamon French toast were so delicious! There was no wait time even on Valentine's Day. Coffee was great. Just the way I like it strong. Totally recommend! read more

Had a great Happy Hour meal in the bar area. Wife had steak fajitas (very good) and I had the Monster Steak Burrito. Fast, friendly service. The highlight was the baked brie and roasted garlic appetizer. It was really different and delicious. The happy hour beer prices were great as well. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Tahoe. read more

We happened by this place by chance because where we were going to eat was closed. we're so glad it was. from the moment we walked in the door, the service was excellent. We were greeted and seated by a wonderful server (didn't get his name). ordered chips, salsa and guacamole and the chicken flour as appetizer along with margaritas. Everything was very good. if we're ever in Tahoe again, we would definitely come back. read more

Dog friendly restaurant close to zephyr cove. I got the chicken and waffles and my husband got the biscuits and gravy, delicious. They even have good hot sauce at the tables too! If you're in the mood for a cocktail I recommend the cucumber one!! Delicious and refreshing! read more

Only one gal working the whole place and she acted like she really didn't want to be there. She entered my husbands order incorrectly in the computer No refil of coffee my toast was burned and so were the bottom of my hash browns. Not sure where the good reviews came from and that is why we went there today. But beware it's only a three star at best read more

We were looking for a place to have breakfast in Zephyr Cove and Casey's was highly recommended. We went on a Monday morning around 10:00 a.m. and they were not too busy. Our waitress Adela was awesome and the food was delicious. Their bacon was really tasty and hashbrowns were perfect and crispy. A lot of places don't get their hashbrowns crispy but Casey's nailed it. You can even get hashbrowns with cheese and jalapenos on top. We thought this place was great and wanted to let others know. We will definitely be going back next time we're in town!! read more

Casey's used to be a friendly neighborhood location but new staff turns away locals. New staff is not friendly. We tried go to Casey's for lunch today with our two well-behaved dogs who have gone several times before. They would not let us sit outside due to smoke. The staff member then lectured about the dogs. At no point was there a "welcome" or anything friendly. The attitude was "go away". So we voted with out feet and are taking our business elsewhere. It is sad to see what used to be a friendly neighborhood establishment go this way. We went to check the mail, and as we were loading the dogs into the car - we saw Casey's had seated another couple with a dog at the same table we requested-- less than 5 minutes after we were turned away by the unfriendly employee and told there was no way we could eat outside. We won't be back. read more

We were all starving and this was the first place we save next to the Safeway. Our group ordered everything from fish and chips to pizza to burger. No one commented that it was delicious or great. Just OK. read more

Came to Casey's based off of family's reviews so we had high expectations. Came around opening time and saw the restaurant quickly fill up, we felt bad for the only server/host/bartender Stephanie. She seemed extremely overwhelmed and for a Sunday on Labor Day weekend, staffing needs to be ramped up. Kudos to her and the young man who came in for his shift shortly before we left. Food was okay- very over cooked but we understood the circumstances at hand. read more

Waited 10 mins for outside table service and then left. Had to go inside to ask, bartender indicated server would be out. We left after 10 minutes of waiting outside. It seams if you ate at the bar counter you got service. Was wanting to try this restaurant as I live in zephyr cover. Probably wont come back. read more

My wife had heard of this establishment from a few of her co-workers who reside nearby. While visiting the area for her birthday weekend she chose to have her birthday dinner here. Although it is a Cantina, there are several different ethnic dishes to choose here from mexican inspired, to hamburgers to pizza. It seemed on that particular night everyone wanted something different to eat so fit our needs just right. The food was fantastic, the service superb and the atmosphere as laid back as could be. Been meaning to try this place out for awhile. Finally went the other day. I got the cheese enchiladas and my boyfriend got the western cheeseburger. We also go an appetizer of onion rings. All of it was amazing. Fairly priced. Staff was super nice and environment was pretty chill. My only complaint was we didn't see the happy hour menu until we had already ordered because it wasn't on our table which was a bummer. Will definitely be back. read more

Love the burgers here. Just as good (if not better) as the more expensive burger places in town and much lower price. Atmosphere is locals bar but good food. The wings are great, potatoes skins are thick, cheesy and tasty. Love that they ask is you want blue cheese or ranch. Solid menu read more

This little local spot looks like a bar but it's much more than that. I think I just had one of the best hamburgers that I have had anywhere in South Shore. It's a great burger with amazing tater tot's that come with a seasoning on them. I got Cajun. Definitely will be a main stay for us when we visit the Zephyr Cove area of South Shore read more

Found this gem and they did not disappoint! Service was perfect, coffee perfect, food delicious, food options endless. Mimosas perfect not too much juice so I was happy. Was disappointed in the food and service. I do understand that things are harder now, but nothing excuses rude service. Probably the rudest service I have ever received. The food was just ok. Things left out of order. Not busy enough to forget to put all of order in. I will not go back, I live close by. If you are traveling through, there are much better places With better food. The one star is for the inexcusable rude service. The food rates a 2 star. read more

It seems that one of our favorite places (Casey's) has been given poor reviews lately. Unfortunately they were from people who are entitled and easily offended if they don't get their way or feel the rules don't apply to them. This is a great spot and the workers here have been nothing more than great to us each and every visit. Maybe those who visited have no comprehension about what it takes to run a restaurant or business during this Covid crisis. Half staffed, working longer than most to cover shifts of those who can't work, having to deal with the requirements from the Governor ( by the way is willing to revoke and/or fine businesses that are not complying with his Covid mandates) Only to receive a bad review? It was wrong and shouldn't have been allowed to post it. Those that know this place, come back over and over, we appreciate the good food and service. read more

My Love Hate Relationship with Casey's pizza as take out. From the box container... was'nt happy with crust and pizza taste. Oven heated next day at home it was really good. The sauce flavor, topping flavors came to form. The Large pizza is quite large. Looks more like 18 inch pie than 16. $11 for Cheese pizza + $1 Toppings. Red sauce is good. Family member said Pesto sauce is not(odd). I hated my pepperoni, sausage, fresh mushroom pizza slice day one. Day two from home oven___ Hey. This is Enjoyable pizza. Casey's crust is different. Day one I joked it had no Yeast. It was like bread. Day 2 as Crust heated to a bottom crisp was another World. We live at the Worldmark across the street. I will buy this pizza again. Good Price. Food is good. Will try half pound Char burger next. Which is good price too. Note. Burger place at Heavenly Village is $15+. Some Yelp'Rs there complain of miniscule patty size. To me Casey's half pound char of burger will satisfy my appetite. read more

Dunno what happened to ol' Archibald from Houston between 2021 and 2022, but he's gone Faux Noose in a huge way and can't post anything positive. This review is to counteract that. We've been going to Casey's for years for a good value, hearty meals, and great drinks, and we'll keep right on going. Very happy to support this restaurant and its friendly staff. A bonus is that they're right next to Safeway so we can get our shopping done after breakfast without having to drive anywhere. read more

I really enjoyed the fact that Casey's has the outside patio that allows dogs! This is such a great stop for a post-hike meal or drink with your dog! We hit up Castle Rock and then stopped by for a pint. I think the food is really reasonably priced and tasty! I would highly recommend that everyone stop by once and try it out. Also, when we went there was one woman running the entire front of the restaurant, that woman needs a raise! She handled all the customers really well! read more

Established in 2015.

Shortly after Casey's took over a total wall to wall renovation was accomplished including upgrading the food and bar offerings. We have enjoyed steady customer growth through out.

I've been a loyal customer at Casey's since the mid-2000s, back when it was still called Coyote Grill. What started as a favorite spot has only gotten better and better with every passing year. Today, under Asia's wonderful ownership, the restaurant has been taken to a whole new level. It's truly next-level in every way! Casey's has become a beloved gathering place for both locals and tourists alike. Tucked into the Safeway parking lot near the post office, dry cleaners, and other daily errands, it's the perfect convenient spot that feels like a hidden gem. The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming -- it's the kind of place where you love hanging out, catching up with friends, and even making new ones. But what truly sets Casey's apart is the incredible staff. Asia and Stephanie are simply the best. You can't walk through the door without being greeted with a warm hug and the feeling that you've just come home. The hospitality here is genuinely exceptional -- sincere, heartfelt, and top-notch. And then there's the food... oh my goodness, it's exquisite! The menu offers such a fantastic variety, from the delicious Polish pickle soup to mouthwatering French dips, fabulous steaks, and so many other delightful options. I always keep an eye out for the daily specials because they're consistently outstanding. The portions are ridiculously generous, and every bite is phenomenal. I find myself coming back almost every day because Casey's truly feels like home to me. The food, the service, the vibe -- everything is just perfect. I am writing this five star review for for the food and service. Please read on.. my husband and I are locals and have been coming here through several owners and changes. We went in last week for a brief snack while our kids were at a local dance. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and flautas. As usual, the food was delicious, and hit the spot. The service was fabulous. Char was very attentive and checked on us regularly. We have been in here several times since it has become Casey's, but usually during the day. We had never met the new owner until this evening. The new owner came over to us, asked us how the service and food was, which we told him it is always great. Then he went on and on about yelp reviews and the importance of them yadda yadda. We didnt mind at first. But he continued to stay and I just wanted to eat, and its rude to eat when someone is talking to you. So my food went cold. Finally when he left, we watched him hit every other table and guest. It is nice to be "involved" but begging for yelp reviews is unprofessional, pretty sure illegal, and this guy was WAY overbearing. This place has always run smoothly on its own. I hope the manager steps off the guests a bit. He will run them away. Go for the food and fantastic staff! If you see the owner... good luck! read more

Once upon a time (this morning) my mom and I walked into Casey's and were kindly greeted by our server who was quick, friendly, and attentive. After some pondering, my mom settled on Casey's breakfast special and I chose the build your own soufflé omelette (bacon & cheddar cheese, my go to duo). First time there since the remodel. Went for breakfast. Service was good, however, there was a very obvious hair on my food. Server replaced it at no charge, but after seeing that you kind of lose your appetite. I hear their burgers are great, but not ready to return, if indeed I ever do. read more
