If you read it, it says for parties of 5 or larger, but there were only 2 of us. Also, not to mention, we waited 38 minutes for our breakfast to be delivered to our table after ordering it . I know exactly how long it was as I took a snap as soon as we arrived. Plus, I also had four cups of coffees before our food was even brought to the table. ***** BEWARE ***** There are so many breakfast options in the Elgin area, so we will just start frequenting the other ones.

I don't know if they were short on staff or it is always like this, but please keep this in mind before you come. Don't come too hungry! We ordered an ice coffee, but it came with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. I'm not sure if it was wrong of me to expect a black iced coffee with a side of cream or milk... the iced coffee was extremely sweet. It tasted like chocolate milk. The waitress said they don't have plain ice coffee so I had to stick with hot coffee. The skillets were delicious! I liked how they overcooked the hash browns. I love them crunchy. If you like spice, I recommend the Azteca skillet. It was delicious. The crepes here were okay. We still ate it, but there was nothing special about it.

Outstanding Wings -- Crispy, Juicy, and Packed With Flavor…read more I'm not sure what kind of magic is happening in this kitchen, but these chicken wings are on an entirely different level. The skin comes out perfectly crispy--that kind of crisp where you hear the crunch before you even take the bite. But the real surprise is inside: the meat stays unbelievably moist and tender, not dry or overcooked like so many places get wrong. The sauces are just as impressive. Each one has a great depth of flavor, not just heat for the sake of heat. You get that perfect balance--bold, saucy, flavorful, with a kick that hits you just right without overwhelming the rest of the wing. And let's talk about the house-made ranch. Creamy doesn't even begin to describe it. It's rich, smooth, and somehow manages to cool your palate without dulling the flavor of the wings. It's the kind of ranch you'd happily dunk anything into -- honestly, they could bottle it and I'd buy it. If you're a wing lover, this place should be at the top of your list. Quality, flavor, and consistency... they nailed all three. I'll absolutely be coming back for more.

RK's was immediately different upon entering! Greeted by the bartenter Laura and she stayed connected to us. Made sure we had what we needed and was great! The kitchen was closed for a remodel. The free popcorn was appreciated. Looking forward to the reopening of the kitchen to try the food. Drinks were excellent! The 2 piece band did a nice job and were engaging with the patrons and not just playing music. A shout out to the Staff at RK's and to Karri for responding to my email about a left behind jacket. I was able to pick up the jacket the next day. A lot of places would not care or make the effort. I really appreciate RK's Bar & Grill! Looking forward to the next visit!

Also will be great leftover lunch/brunch - was our plan so we got big-ish pizzas). Good thin crust. I'm hyper critical on crust, so call that a big compliment. We'll be back. (And we're Lou's routine customers, so if I order a 2nd pizza from you it's a big deal). They've decorated beautifully for the season. Lovely. The party room looks awesome, I'd love to know it's happily used for lotsa fun Elgin events . Tomato & mozz salad underwhelming. But a good healthy addition to everything we were ordering even if mediocre. Heavens sake we need fresh veges sometimes Mom loved the crispy onion rings & the dressing (our appetizer). It was all about making her happy - and extra crispy onion rings with plenty of dip = happiness The holiday decorations plus lotsa Taxidermy kinda odd but Mom was fascinated. If she's happy I'm thrilled. Overall. Giant space in South Elgin. Lovely. Pizza was very well priced. Our server was awesome esp my Mom's obvious dementia impacting her public food activity (shoot, I can't remember our servers name - but she was obviously a pro & handled my family, I'd be happy to hang out with her again). Near Gail Borden Library South Elgin branch - I'd happily spend a couple hours there....

When I called I was very disappointed to hear they discontinued my staple, The Grinder on garlic toast. Oh well...I am flexible... I was exited about the chicken parmesan sandwich in garlic toast, we also ordered a chicken Alfredo, Italian beef and fries. To start with my chicken parmesan WAS NOT on garlic toast (which I paid extra for) the chicken was overcooked, dry and strips. Ate about three bites. The fries we under cooked and soggy and the chicken parmesan had NO flavor. Italian beef was neither good nor bad... Well, anyone can have an off day so I decided I would just stick to their pizza which historically had been delicious. Fast forward to today, I was returning for a 2.5 hour drive and thought I'd treat myself to a delicious pizza for today and preparing for tomorrows incoming snow storm. I picked the pizza up and headed home. Sadly, I should have checked it there before leaving...the bacon was all burnt (tasted burnt not just looked burnt). Yes, I did pick off most of the burnt bacon, but got $30+ for a picked up pizza that is not really ok with me ... beyond that the crust was soggy and I couldn't really pick up the pieces to eat them. It will be an extremely long time before I order or go there again. Makes me very sad as this used to be a staple of mine and it is SOOOO close to home. Good luck if you choose to give them a try...
