I ordered a delivery through DoorDash and it arrived extremely quick. I got the Mac n cheese, chicken n pastry, mashed potatoes, and banana pudding and everything tasted lovely!! I also ordered during happy hour and everything I ordered was discounted, but even without the discount it is all well priced for the quality. read more

Casey's Buffet and BBQ - Chicken n' Pastry - Pint over mashed potatoes!! Yum - Southern Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

Don't come here for ambiance, come for the food! Hands down best southern restaurant I have ever had! From the sweet tea to every hot dish was just excellent southern comfort food! THIS is how you do chicken pastry right. THIS is how you do a baked Mac and cheese. If you don't try, you are miss out! THIS is what Sunday lunch after church feels like... home. read more

I have seen a few YouTube videos about this buffet. So I decided to check them out for myself while in Wilmington. The inside of the restaurant has a nice homey feel to it. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a waitress. She asked if we had a preference as to where we would like to sit and she got our drink orders. The buffet was small but it had a lot of variety. There was so much southern flare. There was fried chicken, baked chicken, pigs feet, cabbage, rice, sweet potatoes, and even tunips, just to name a few. There was a dessert bar that had a few cobblers and other sweets. I enjoyed my meal. You can tell that this was a spot that many of the locals frequently visited. There was a steady flow of customers. This is a really nice spot to visit if ever you are in Wilmington NC. read more

Can't say enough about this place. Glad I stumbled across it on a fb page! The selection of homemade classics is outstanding. Nothing bad here! Catfish. Pork. Shrimp. Chitterlings. Pig feet. Mac n cheese. 2-3 different chickens. Fried okra. Greens! Plus many other things I didn't get to. Down home feel. Kind and attentive staff. The owner was super nice to me and took care of a request at the end. Doesn't get any better than home cooked, clean, and caring folks. Hope to try it again someday! read more

Casey's did not disappoint with ots offerings. The ambiance was a step into the past with spreads of coke bottles, Pepsi cans and posters that remind me of school days. I glanced around for the Dick and Jane series of books! Amazing food was served on wooden chairs and inside plastic booths. The service was there to clear away used plates and make room for several trips back to the buffet. It is a road side stop ypu must consider on your travels, especially to Myrtle Beach. Just 45 minutes aways! read more

1st time visiting this establishment. I ordered a "to-go" plate with pork chop, mac n cheese, collards and hush puppies. The food was delicious. The hush puppies were too oily. The pork chop and side items were seasoned just right. Other than the hush puppies, the food was delicious. The staff and service were extremely nice and easy to talk to. I do plan to go back! The restaurant reminded me of a good soul food establishment with a lot of good memories on the wall and history! read more

Came from Philadelphia everything was great staff was friendly the food was excellent

Good old fashioned southern comfort food. Food was tasty and service was good. The building is old but well cleaned. So glad we found this place, we'll be eating here at least once every time we're in the Wilmington NC area! read more

This place is exactly what you think it is and hope it is for a down home, southern style food buffet. My friend and I went last week and neither of us had been to a buffet since before Covid. We enjoyed the service and being able to be sat at tables and also have a waitress who came to deliver our drinks and takeaway empty plates. There is an extreme variety of food - various meats, fish, and dessert, desserts, and sides. The squash casserole was by far my favorite.. it looks like they also do good deals on DoorDash and if there's anything you like, you can order it in pint sizes or quarts etc to go as well. Very reasonably priced for all you can eat buffet. Just make sure you take a few minutes after eating your first plate before you go back because it is so easy for your eyes to be MUCH bigger than your stomach at a place like this. Ambiance is casual and quaint. Customers range from 0-99 years old & everyone looked like they were having a damn good time. read more

Of course yet another 5 star review for this amazing place. Bonus tonight... monster pork chops. My new favorite is to mix the limas, corn, and mashed potatoes. Good lord. Great service oh yea and cheated with a brownie and ice cream. read more

We love going to Caseys ..the food is awesome, the staff is friendly..All the food is great especially the pigs feet lol...

The food was great and the staff was very friendly will definitely be coming back next month while on vacation.

Love this southern food buffet and the workers/ owners offer that sweet kind southern hospitality.

First time here. I'm in the area for work and I like to try local cuisines and this was recommended. So first the collard greens, black eyed peas, fried cabbage, and the green beans. Was just delicious as hell!! That's what I look forward to when I eat southern food!! The fired chicken was majorly over cooked, but their pulled pork with their bbq sauce was bomb!! The fried catfish was okay and their hamburger steak was decent as well. Overall I say this place was good quick stop if you love them southern greens!! The service was polite and honestly I don't like being overwhelmed with "you okay sir" or "how are you"!! I can see you looking to make sure I'm okay but not shadowing is great. The location was really off the beaten path from where they could be striving but not bad. Inside was good and it gave the vibe of old school southern cooking, but this place could use some updating. Overall great spot and would definitely be back if I'm in the area!! PS the sweet tea was PERFECT!! Really well mixed !! Wasn't over powering on the sweet side!! read more

Love the food. Reminds me of all the best Southern food dishes. This place can satisfy everybody's hunger. Fried chicken us fantastic. Baked turkey with mash potatoes, stuffing and gravy(Thanksgiving dinner any time). Staff is friendly! They have a great selection of desserts too. Unfortunately, I have been too stuffed to eat dessert. read more

Went with some old timers from Wrightsville Beach for my 73rd birthday on 10/18. Since it and 1 1/2 hour from my home, it makes a drive back in forth in a day. We were seated immediately near the buffet and just eyeing all the goodies, made me even hungrier. Our waitress was quick and returned several times. The food was what I was looking for in comfort food that my grandma made. When I saw the fried chicken, I made a bee line to it and sides were bbq, boiled potatoes and string beans. A few minutes later, our waitress came by with fresh fried chicken! I got 5 legs (my all time favorite) and tried the mashed potatoes. Desert? bread pudding (which I make for Thanksgiving) and banana pudding. If I lived in town, I would eat here at least twice a month (on cholesterol meds) if not more. Conclusion: If you like real home cooked/soul food make a point to visit. You will not be disappointed. read more

My husband and I wanted to try this place out of curiosity, the restaurant was a bit dirty and it was outdated. Our waiter thought she was attentive and friendly. She made sure the table was cleared out before our next round. The food was overall good. My husband was excited when he saw they had a soft serve ice cream machine, but was disappointed when I told him I just watched a child put his mouth under one of the ice cream dispenser . All the mom did was bring a plate for him to pour the ice cream on. No consequence at all for what he did. Another customer saw what he did and told a waiter about it, from that moment until we left I didn't see anyone from the staff cleaning the dispenser. Another location that I might come again, since everyone does deserve a second chance. read more

Let me start by saying this restaurant is not for everyone. If you LOVE good ol' fashion country cooking...then this is the spot! It's not fancy, but the food is delicious! I haven't had pig feet in YEARS! The chitterlings were okay, but it was mostly hog jowls mixed in. I went up to try dessert and they put out some fresh chicken so I had to try. Those wings were awesome!!! The service was wonderful. The tea was sweet. And the locals love it!!! A must try if you're passing through. read more

I believe in supporting our local restaurants and Casey's is at the top of my list. Attentive friendly service and awesome buffet choices. Meeting the owners was a highlight. If it has been a while or trying something different, give Casey's a try soon. read more

The food great! Great self serve., Go hungry! So much food so many choice's., Close to home cooking.U pretty much serve yourself. People do bring refills ., Lots of desserts. Ice cream machine. Lots of-toppings! . read more

The server was very welcoming and attentive. There was a wide variety of southern fare for a reasonable price. There were a few concerns to note: the food was not replenished in a timely manner, so it appeared that some of the food was dried out especially the desserts. The food stations could be cleaner. There are food spills all around. The floor is stained and soiled looking. The plastic plates are worn and look like dishes for school children. The iced tea was great. The meats (ribs) were tasty. The fried chicken and the catfish were delicious. Even though, I do not prefer catfish. I didn't like the Mac and cheese. That said, the server provided freshly prepared fish and desserts upon request. With some revitalization this place would be great. BTW -- the old crumpled newspaper on the glass in front door of the building looks scary and like a harborage for critters. All said, they serve authentic, down home cooking like pig feet and chitterlings , so you should check for yourself. read more

The food was awesome!! A huge selection of home cooked southern food. The steamed cabbage and lima beans were awesome. I grew up in NC and noone ever cooks fried Okra like my mom. The fried Okra here was the closest I have ever had to moms version with thin sliced pieces lightly breaded and fried, nothing like you get with the overbreaded versions in most restaurants. The dessert menu with bread pudding, and cobblers was awesome as was the shredded BBQ pork, fried fish, shrimp and stuffing. So many options to chose from and well worth the $$ per person. Our first time visit while in ILM and we will return on future visits to the area. read more

Sadly I think Casey's needs a some attention. The food was ok but wasn't as hot as I like- a downside of the buffet- it's been a really pre-Covid way pre-Covid. So it wasn't so much the food. Weirdly it was busy enough that our waitress I hope they get time to spruce up the inside! It needs it! Let's hope it stays in the area. read more

Omgoodness this spot hit the spot! Stopped by for late lunch on a Sunday . I had heard great things about this place and they did not disappoint! The Buffett wasn't huge but it had a pretty good variety of things I haven't seen at other buffets. I tried new things.. some I loved others I may never have again but it was so good I got a few plates! Then there's a dessert buffet booth too!! I have to say whoever does the frying of the chicken in there deserves an award! It was so crispy on outside and tender and juicy inside! And something for every taste ! Ham, turkey, beef, chicken fried, baked and jerk, and like 8-10 side dishes and the hush puppies were awesome too. From minute we walked in to time we paid and left the staff was friendly and very attentive. The gentleman that waited on us today was such a sweetheart! We will definitely be back. Just good home cooking done right!! read more

I'm assuming Casey's has seen better days. We came due to the high reviews and the fact that they showed up on a lot as one of the best buffets in the state. They get the full 5/5 for having a really friendly attentive staff, so I'm rounding up to 3, when I feel like the food itself was closer to 2.5. The quality of the buffet was...not great. We tried a little bit of everything and the only worthwhile bites were the fried chicken & desserts. Everything else was just so-so and to be honest if I'm paying ~17/per person I would rather spend that money somewhere else on less food. read more

Great bbq and buffet with friendly staff and great service. The menu and food were plentiful

I hate to say it but we were disappointed. The stars got us. The buffet was... let's say disarray. Some of the food looked like it had heat burn and the dessert island was not appealing. The fried chicken was ok, fried fish is salty, rice was hard, and brisket was cold. There was a lot of ppl so I would think food would be replaced/refreshed but it wasn't. We were told they were short staffed and apologized so that may be why our experience was the way it was. read more

Casey's Buffet and BBQ - Fried fish, rice and mash potatoes with gravy. - Southern Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

I've been here a few times but recently visited with my family, the food was good/ok. However the vegetables are cooked with too much grease/oil for my liking. When I eat their greens I get indigestion so I steer clear. The buffet is full of fried and greasy options. I had to carefully make my plate so that I wouldn't get sick from eating unhealthy foods. This time I only had baked chicken breast, one small scoop Mac n cheese ( which wasn't that good) Lima beans, dressing with gravy. The food was good/ok. My issue is with the cleanliness of the restaurant. It is borderline filthy and needs repair. The chairs we sat on were badly stained and there was crud in the joints of the chairs - very disgusting. I wish the food was prepared with a little more integrity. Soul food doesn't have to be greasy fried foods. It can be done right with healthy ingredients and clean flavors. read more
