Casa Torres is a very good Mexican restaurant in Decatur, Texas. Their frozen margarita ( regular flavor) was really good- not too sweet and very refreshing. The steak fajitas are outstanding- I really recommended that order. What I particularly like is their chips and queso! I think the queso can use a bit more flavor, but I love that they serve it pipping hot!! Every time I order it elsewhere, it's just normal temp and cools off quickly- I have no idea how they get it so hot and it stays hot!!! I love it! I'm a huge fan and stop in often for delicious Mexican food! Word of warning... they can get extremely busy- so I suggest you call first to see how long the wait is! Enjoy! read more

We love about an hour away and this place is worth the drive. Let's face it Tex mex is a dime a dozen. This ones worth a whole lot more than a dime. I have had NOTHING i haven't drooled over. I don't think I would consider this place traditional Mexican food, but more Tex Mex. This place gets a lot of hype but it's pretty basic. The prices are cheap and the food is alright but nothing amazing. If you're looking for more authentic, I would recommend going to Carniceria Las Delicias. I live in Decatur and eat here weekly. Their salsa is my absolute favorite of any Tex-Mex restaurant. (Side note: if you like really hot salsa you can request it, and it's definitely hot. I will sometimes mix the mild and hot). Their Street Tacos are wonderful, I usually get chicken. Their shredded chicken has a great flavor. And their tortilla soup is the best I've ever had. I will caution you with their soups though, they're super salty so if you're sensitive to sodium and are ok with being a little puffy for a day or two, it's worth it! I really wish they'd switch to Sea Salt. The prices are great and find that my son and I can eat here for under $15. The service is TOP NOTCH. They get your food out quick and are very accommodating. Friday evenings you can expect a wait. They do offer call ahead seating, so I recommend you do that. I noticed on Yelp it says there is no outdoor seating, that's not true, there is some outdoor seating. Also, they're closed on Sunday. read more

Overall this is pretty good Mexican food. Only compliant is that the salsas could be hotter. They bring out a tasty mild salsa and offer a hotter one, but even that is a solid medium on the scale. Their green salsa is heavy with tomatillo, but still has good flavor. I think we would have been disappointed with their "traditional" Mexican fare, like the enchiladas and tamales - mainly because of their choice of sauces - so we ordered their Beef Steak Encebollado (in onions) and that was excellent along with some chile torreados. My wife had the huevos rancheros and enjoyed those. Their tortilla soup is also very tasty, complete with corn, bell peppers, celery, etc. The flavors blend well. Tortillas are not homemade (bummer) and the chili con carne that tops many of the meals tastes more like chili (with an "i" not an "e") that is better for hot dogs than Mexican food. I still give it four stars primarily because the service was on point and their steak/chicken dishes are good enough to come back again. read more

First time trying Casa Torres In town briefly from Orlando FL. Had beef & chicken enchiladas with verde sauce. Enchiladas were delicious. Top shelf margarita was pretty good. The mixer was a bit too sweet for my taste. Service efficient & food came out fast. Only thing I did not like was the tortillas/chips. They were thick, hard, and tasted stale. My boyfriend and I are in town visiting and were delighted with the food we ordered from Casa Torres. We ordered for pickup and the staff was wonderful, only a short wait for our food. We were pleased to see social distancing and masks in use. I saw employees be scanned for temp checks, and everyone was wearing gloves and masks. We had the steak quesedillas and tortilla soup, they were both DELICIOUS! The steak was tender and well seasoned and they gave us a box of toppings to go with. The soup was delicious, we shared it and afterward wished we had ordered a second cup and not shared lol. They also gave us a huge bag of chips and some salsa. Stopped in here for lunch on a work road trip. Decent food and great service! Our server was swell, kept us filled with drinks and was helpful regarding the menu/ordering. Was being piggish and ordered the Diablos for an appetizer too, would pass on those unless you got a bigger party and everyone just going to eat one. First - there are two entries for Casa Torres in Decatur (sadly, i'm not actually the first to review, but i'm glad to see CT being enjoyed by other Yelpers!). Although both show the same address, this one shows up correctly on the map. Casa Torres is very good Mexican food! There is almost always a wait, no matter what day of the week, so call ahead. But the wait should be a testament to how good it is. There are only two places in Decatur that have a nightly waiting list: CT and Chili's. MUST TRY: If you like hot salsa, they have a hotter salsa that is available by request. Both that one and the default salsa are great though. MUST TRY: the "Diablos" stuffed jalapenos. I will take off just the one star though. Although they have recently sectioned off a Vegetarian section, I'd love to see some better options than just cheese quesadillas, cheese enchilada, and bean taco salad. This is still leagues above many other Mexican restaraunts though, but still. How about a meatless chimichanga? Or for other pescatarians like myself, how about some fish tacos? Is that authentic Mexican? Oh well. So, if you're on your way to Wichita Falls and you happen through Decatur around lunch or dinner time, stop in at CT. read more

I was desperate to find something that isn't a chain. Reviews looked good, but I think that with so few non-chain options in this town the bar is set pretty low. This place was packed and I was lucky to get a seat at the bar. If I had waited the 20-30 minutes for a table I would have been really been pissed! Love this restaurant We started eating here when the meals were being cooked and served in a small cottage, now it is in a very upscale setting just a few feet from where it started and it's Mexican roots and heritage are very evident. There is always a waiting line but it is never a long wait. Friends can join you and get a drink lot just visit without being penalized for sitting at the table without ordering. Met my sister at this place while I was in the area on a bike ride, and she said that from what she remembered from the last time she'd been there, it was pretty good. We started out with a large queso, something I wouldn't normally do, but the waiter convinced us after advertising that the large was only a dollar more than the small. Judging by the general lack of flavor in the queso, I now know how they can sell it for so cheap. The chips also tasted store-bought, and not in a good way. My sister had enchiladas, the other half had tacos, and I chose the beef fajita nachos. My sister said the enchiladas were "okay", the other half really enjoyed her tacos, but the beef nachos were a complete disaster. The cheese and meat were cold on a hot plate and the meat tasted like it was either very cheap or very old. Either way, about three bites into my dish, I gave up and sent it home with my sister for her dog. Basically, I won't be going back to this place, but for those of you that do, definitely avoid the beef nachos. read more

I visit Decatur every year and I have come here for dinner almost every night. I have yet to be disappointed with the quality of food or the service. Honestly this place is packed every night I've been there, and the staff always gets the food right at a disturbingly brilliant speed. Quick refills, a great bar and an upscale-ish atmosphere that I wasn't expecting, either. I've had beef fajitas, chicken fajitas, quesadillas, and various enchiladas and the quality of food is top notch. My favorite is the beef dishes, they are always done right for my palette. Good food, amazing service and it's all topped off by super affordable prices. I love this place. I may not say that Casa Torres is the best Mexican restaurant in Texas, but this has to be the best place in Decatur. And it is DEFINITELY a place I look forward to visiting every year. read more

Service was great! My cousin and his wife raved about this place so we went. I tried a combo plate with an enchilada, tamale, and a taco. All 3 were very bland just like the chips and salsa. We ordered 2 sides of guac and there wasn't enough salt on the table to make it flavorful. The taco shell looked like something pre-made from the grocery like the taco bell shells, total turn off. The rice and beans were bland...yes, there is a pattern here. I also ordered a chili relleno for good measure and they had left all the seeds in..ugh!
