We went for an afternoon drive today and decided to grab lunch at Casa Torres. My husband has the chicken and beef fajitas, he said the steak and chick was juicy and tender and brought some home so the service was a nice size. I ordered Al la Carte and had a Chile releno with chicken. It's not on the menu but the waitress was happy to request it for me. It was a very nice size and the ranchero sauce was some of the best I've had. The kiddo had a quesadilla with rice and ate it all. Was very happy. Will recommend read more

Pros: 1. Nice atmosphere, beautifully designed. 2. Although super crowded, we only waited 10 minutes. The waitstaff is very speedy! 3. Overall cleanliness is high. 4. The rice and shrimp were seasoned in a delectable manner. 5. The presentation of my plate was superb. 6. Piña colada was delicious as well (not strong and not weak either) 7. Chips and salsa was better than average TexMex restaurant. Chips are made thin, and the salsa was über mild (sensitive to chiles, so this worked out well for me). 8. The steamed vegetables had a great texture (not hard and not soggy) Cons: 1. Crowded, there was a wait line out the door. 2. *Here is the biggest factor* The vegetables were bland, I had to salt them 3 times (I don't usually eat or cook with salt) and the shrimp was over cooked. 3. No aguas frescas available Had there been flavor to the vegetables, I would have given them 5 stars. read more

It's meh. This place gets a lot of hype, but I think it's because it's the only real Mexican restaurant in Decatur. It's definitely affordable, it leaves much to be desired in terms of flavor. The chips, queso, tortillas, and enchiladas were all meh. There's so much potential for flavor, but none of it was there. The service wasn't great either. We dined in this time, but we've tried to order to-go before, and you always get a busy signal. And their website is nonexistent. read more

We had a semi late lunch and it was delicious. We started with the chips and salsa of course and the salsa is great. We also had the warm tortillas as well as an appetizer. We like to put butter on them with salsa. I had the chicken fajitas salad bowl and this thing was huge. I had it with sour cream and salsa verde. We also had street tacos that were loaded with deliciousness. We had no room for dessert. The waiter was fantastic and tended to our every need and request. The food was also delivered in a very timely manner. This is a family owned business . Jesus and Maria Torres even close for a week at Christmas so the staff can spend time with their families too. Meh... just ok Mexican. Service wasn't overly impressive. Dined here twice, so I know it wasn't just a fluke. Very pricey and the food is just kind of run-of-the -mill Mexican. Ordered the Top Shelf Margarita but it was too sweet to drink. But it may be for you if you like sweet drinks. One star deduction. And it's a Pepsi shop, so keep that in mind. Tasty queso, chips and salsa. The Chicken Diablos were quite tasty and probably enough for somebody's meal. The four of us scarfed up the 5 lightly breaded sides jalapenos, ranch and shredded lettuce. These were the highlight. Yum! Combo fajitas were nicely spiced. Chicken was a little overcooked and beef was gristly in places but have potential. Really enjoyed the guacamole and pico de gallo with plenty of citrus. The food was very enjoyable but there is almost always a wait here which is a total buzzkill. We lucked into a short wait because there were only 3 of us but people with more than 4 in their party who arrived before us were just being seated as we left so that is a major ick! The salsa here is amazing! And like I said the food was yummy. I had a #10 and there was more food than I could eat. It does get pretty loud in here because of the crowd so if you like a more intimate setting come during off hours. read more

I ordered the chicken " Flautes " but they were actually taquitos. So disappointed. I feel like almost all of Texas calls them flautes but they're not. I enjoyed this restaurant. Went there by myself with I took an item to a person in Decatur. The food was good. I liked their Tortillas and they bring you the butter without asking. I like buttered, salted Corn Tortillas. Got that from an old workmate in the Jemez Mountains. The Fajitas were plentiful and I actually had to order a second complete order of Corn Tortillas. Casa Torres was quite a treat. I trusted my fellow Yelpers and gave it a try. The chips and salsa came quick and was fresh. The salsa wasn't too spicy either. We had tortilla soup, nachos, fajita salad, and tacos. Our food came VERY fast. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was incredible. The decoration is modern - seems this is a newish building and the atmosphere is open, inviting, and clean. Stopped for lunch on a Monday. Service was quick and friendly. Wife had a fajita salad. She said it was very good and meat was tender. My chicken tortilla soup was flavorful but way too many tortilla strips. My burrito was average. I prefer to eat a burrito by hand and not knife and fork. Utensils are required 'cus it seemed to be 'constructed' on the plate instead of rolled. Just my preference. The thing that struck me was the 'covid protocol'. I have seen restaurants in NY locked down less than this place. This is the first time to visit and it seems to me that this place would have been hopping in the past.
