Saturday night, small town Mexican food. Didn't quite meet my expectations for the food but the service and decor were on par. Small restaurant, minimal decor. Waitress was very nice and attentive. She was new and that's okay. Foot wasn't horrible but lacked flavor. Basic cheese enchilada plate. The enchilada was not bad, the meat sauce was decent, beans and rice had no flavor. Chips and their spicy salsa were very good, their regular salsa was like tomato soup. Queso tasted like the cheese on a microwave tv dinner enchiladas. First time here and was hoping for homemade family recipes. If that is what it was, well I was very disappointed! The mushroom and chicken enchiladas were horrible! Whatever they sautéd the mushrooms in did not match the flavors of the ckn. They were very juicy and made the tortillas soggy. Nothing like I've ever had before anywhere! The salsa had no flavor. The chips seem to be from the grocery store. The charro beans were okay. They did add some bacon and it looked to be ham pieces in them. Not much other flavor though. read more

We absolutely loved our experience at Dos Chiles! Both meals we had were absolutely delicious and the service was spectacular. We went on a Sunday shortly after they opened and by the time we were leaving it was getting very busy. We absolutely enjoyed everything about our experience and we will be back very often! I have heard many positive comments about how good the food is, they were all wrong. Where should I start? Well, everyone loves chips and salsa when they go to get Mexican food. The salsa was down right disgusting. It was just tomato paste. That is not salsa. Well the service was good. We ordered the quest blanco, nasty. Seemed like they just got it out of the microwave, after heating it up various times. My wife's go to is Carne asada. That meat was not carne asada. I had the nachos, but they were even too greasy. My kids like rice and beans. It seemed to be straight out of a can. If we wanted canned refried beans I could have bought some at the local Lowes grocery store. Do yourselves a favor and go elsewhere. As others have commented, as for me and my family, we'll just drive right on by and not look back. YUCK read more

Place is terrible!!!!!!!!! They need to be shut down. The waiters need to let you know that they charge for chips and a side of jalapeños. Salsa is tomato sauce the queso is not queso. For a Tex-Mex restaurant, there are tons of reviews that comment on the Terrible Salsa - it truly tastes like tomato sauce. We love Dos Chiles and eat at the Boyd location regularly! The food and service are both amazing. They have more than one version of the salsa. The fajitas are some of the best in the metroplex. I am shocked at some of the reviews because we have never had a bad experience and it is a family favorite. read more

This was our first time eating here and we will not be returning. The food wasn't better than anything you could get at Rosa's. Service was good, but we didn't like that the receipt wasn't itemized. On top of that, they charged $1.25 for using a card to pay. The sign said they prefer cash transactions, but nowhere did it specify there would be a fee. It's the business's job to cover that. In the end, dinner for two cost $40. Definitely would have preferred to drop $40 at Chuy's in Alliance where we could get our two meals, queso, and dessert for the same price. read more

I would give 2.5 stars, this place has definite room for improvement. Ambiance: there is nothing in the decor or on the TV or music that makes me feel I'm at a Mexican restaurant. It's very plain, the nicest decorations are the ceiling fans- which have an Asian motif. Food: the enchiladas were decent. I had chicken and mushroom enchiladas with sour cream sauce. The refried beans and rice were pretty good, too. The salsa tasted like plain, canned tomato sauce and the water had a very bad taste. I wouldn't recommend getting any drinks since the same water is used for the base for all their beverages. Service: stupendous. The hostess was friendly upon arriving, and our server was very attentive. We didn't need to seek his attention. My suggestions for the restaurant: improve the water quality, look into new recipes for salsas and pico de gallo, and offer up some aguas frescas. read more

Very good lunch. Quiet place with friendly people and quick service. The Steak Quesadilla was very tender and the cheese was fresh and tasty. Guacamole was also fresh. I would stop in here again. read more

Rarely say anything negative, BUT! if you're looking for a good place to eat, just walk on by! You can usually tell a good Mexican food place by their cheese enchiladas. So I start out with those. They came swimming in diced tomatoes that haven't seen salt in ages, cheese not melted, beans!!!??? Ha! The rice was good! Positive first. Delicious, outstanding food. Best Mexican food I've had in a long time. However, the service is horrid! Salsa had a hair in it, waiter responded with "what do you want me to do, I didn't make it." We got a new waitress, who rolled her eyes at us, dropped off the check during the middle of us eating and never came back and didn't tell us that they didn't make one of our entrees just left us sitting there awkwardly. Went to this restaurant because its close to our home. Never been there. Walked in and asked to be sitted. Hostess wanted to sit us at front door so i asked if we could sit somewhere else due to a 3 and 4yr old sons. The hostess attitude was terrible so i asked if that was an ok request. Terrible response so i asked her if we needed to leave. She said yes. So we left. I can pay to be mistreated elsewhere with better food than a place only busy cause it's the only restaurant in town open on a Sunday. read more

Their food is good and you get enough to fill you up. I don't like their soda drinks or tea I guess because they use Boyd water.

Love the food but not a fan of majority of the staff. They don't welcome you as you walk in, they don't have smiles on their faces, and the lady at the register tends to spend a lot of time checking out to go orders and saying sorry for why their order was made wrong. We tried this place when we moved to this area in 2007. It was very hot inside the restaurant, people were fanning themselves. Like others have said, even back in 2007 it took a while to get seated, then a while to get someone to show up for a drinks order.. while waiting on the drinks to arrive we realized 40 minutes had passed.. and the place was nowhere near full, so we just left. The woman behind the cash register looked at us as we were leaving so I told her where we were seated, and that we hadn't even gotten drinks yet and that I didn't want her to think we were running out on a bill.. and pointed to our table next to the door. Her response? "I didn't say a word!" Not asking us what the problem was or why we were leaving. I told her "ma'am, we're not upset or anything.." and she interrupted me to say, in a harsh tone, did i say you were? Sheesh. So since 11 years had passed we decided to give it one more try, again the Boyd location. I wish we hadn't. Still took a bit to be seated, again a weeknight when they weren't busy. This time we actually got drinks. He always gets water, I ordered diet dr pepper that had no fizz. It tasted like it had been from a bottle that didn't have the cap screwed on very well. I mentioned it and she said oh that's how our customers prefer it.. and hurried off. Why that happens so much is just plain rude and bizarre.. restaurants, or other businesses.. instead of trying to fix a problem they claim there isn't one, or you're just weird. Anyway.. he ordered enchiladas, I ordered the chimichanga. She set the plates down and warned us they were hot. They were, but the food wasn't. The food was also greasy. Normally I wouldn't care, because frankly these types of dishes are, but this was the kind that leaves a coating on the roof of your mouth. I'm too lazy to google to see what kind of fat/grease does that.. if it is cheap, animal based, or what.. but hubby had the same issue.. a feeling of grease coating the roof of his mouth. Maybe it was because the food wasn't very hot, who knows. Both of us just took a few bites, paid, left a decent tip. Lesson learned though.. I am never going back. If I want Tex Mex I'll drive to Haslet, Fort Worth, Roanoke. read more
