First time here. It certainly lived up to its other yelp reviews. I had the chicken cacciatore, it was outstanding. It was tender and very flavorful. My fiancé had the chicken parmigiana and it was also outstanding. The sauce was very flavorful. Bread was super soft and warm when they served it. Also ordered the bruschetta appetizer and it was just as flavorful as the entrees. Waitress (Heather) was great as well. Got our order correct and was very sweet and on the ball. My new favorite Italian restaurant in San Antonio! The Shrimp Napolitano, with artichokes, capers and tomatoes in a lemon sauce, served over a bed of linguini, was out of this world! The struggle with wishing Yelp allowed half-star reviews! I would have given 2 and a half stars, but because the bread you get with your meal was bomb, I upped to 3. I've seen many a glowing review of Casa Pasta on Facebook - Helotes Eats. Fast forward to Sunday night. Everyone in the family is tired, I don't feel like cooking, so it was the perfect time to try some take-out. I called Casa Pasta to order, and the girl I spoke with was super polite, even commenting that the dish I ordered was one of her favorites! Yes! Picking up the food was easy - but it was flipping HOT inside. I couldn't have stayed there to eat. Upon getting home, I unpack everything and saw that they gave us 3 side salads instead of 2, and forgot our Tiramisu. The horror. My bad for not opening up everything and checking before I left. But it was hot, remember?! On to the food. I ordered the Shrimp Diavolo, my husband ordered the Chicken Pizzaiola, and we got the kids Spaghetti and Meatballs for our 4 year old. My shrimp was the best of the three. Flavor was nice, plump, juicy shrimp, with a hint of spice in the sauce. The sauce coated the linguine well, but there was TONS of linguine! I love carbs as much as the next girl, but they could have halved the pasta and still had more than enough. Aftertaste was a bit odd - almost like the onions were cooked in a pan after something else? It was also super buttery and rich. Not complaining about that, but if you're into light, this ain't it fam. The Chicken was nothing to write home about. The components were all cooked well, but the sauce it was served over was very watery and nothing really stood out. The kids spaghetti was not good. The sauce was the opposite of the sauce served with the chicken - thick and tomato-ey, if that makes sense. It didn't coat the pasta, just sort of clung to it in clumps. The meatballs were definitely pre-cooked, frozen and flavorless. I'm disappointed that I could have easily made a meal better than this one. But, convenience sometimes wins. And that bread. Pizza is super! I get one early on Friday, take it home, put frig. When ready, heat oven to 425 and put on pizza tray to warm. Comes out like it just came out of their oven. Stopped here for pick up while passing through. Pretty good food! It was well packaged, which was needed since it was red sauce. We got all dinner plates, came with rolls and salad with dressing of your choice. Walked away with: chicken alfredo (brother gave it 10/10), kids pizza: chicken (it was only $7 for a nice size personal size!), chicken parm (daughter gives it a 10/10), I had a stromboli that lasted me 2 days! Service was quick, and they looked busy when I ran in to pick up. Was pleasantly surprised at the prices as well. I noticed this new Italian restaurant in the parking lot of Babe's, Oolong, and Rome's on Bandera Rd just outside Loop one thousand six hundred and four (that's how Siri says it). I told myself that I need to try it next time I'm craving Italiano. It's cute and well decorated inside. I'm sure once the signage is done, it will look great. Ok, now the food: WOW! YESS! First off, the bread....dear God the bread is amazing. Simply perfect! Wife's tip: dip the bread in the tomato basil dressing they offer. I wanted to try several things, so I tried the Pasta Trio (their version of OG's Tour of Italy): fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmigiana. All 3 were amazing, and far superior to OG. The sauces were divine, portions were a good size, and there are some values to be found by the discriminate conisseur. I am hoping they come up with a bread dipping sauce (Scuzzi's is top notch), but I picked the order up, so for dine in, they may have that. I saw this place and the name made me smile. When I saw the reviews I knew I had to try it. It reminded me of the small Italian places in Chicago when I lived there, but the service was much more friendly. That good ol' San Antonio smiles welcomes you at the door followed by good ol' Italian comfort food. It is not super fancy, but quaintly. Tried this place for the first time tonight. We ordered to go and the service was exceptional. The server taking our order over the phone was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Came in for my second time, this time alone on my way home from work. I'm pregnant and I've been craving Italian food, but nothing has satisfied my craving.. until today! Antonio greeted me & served me, was genuinely kind and even brought me the WiFi password so I could get some work done while I ate.
