Excellent Italian food in Helotes!!! Me and the misses tried Casa Pasta for the first time last night. The food was top notch! Some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Very fresh, flavorful, and delicious. We had the pizza pinwheels for a started. The portions were generous with 4 pinwheels each about 3 inches in diameter and marianra dipping sauce. They were amazing. I ordered the pasta trio for my main course which includes chicken parmesan, lasagna, and pasta alfredo. Again very generous portions. It also came with a side salad with my choice of dressing. The salad was incredibly fresh, cold, and crisp. I opted for the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. I am not a salad man, but I would go for this salad any day. Sooo good!!! Each of the pasta trios dishes were delicious!!! The pasta alfredo was so creamy, buttery, and the noodles were very light. The noodle got to be handmade!!! The lasagna was well balanced with sauce, meat, cheese and pasta. It was excellent!!!!! The chicken parmesan was excellent as well! Lastly I have to mention the fresh bread they give each table. That bread was so soft, light, and hot! I have nothing but good to say about Casa Pasta!!! This is a new small business that opened in the shopping center where Babes is located. The food is 100% fresh, home cooked, and fantastic. My family got spaghetti, lasagna, eggplant, and a tortellini dish. All of it was fresh, flavorful and perfectly seasoned. We ordered the oil dipping sauce and they brought a bowl of olive oil filled with fresh cut herbs and seasoned to perfection. Added 1 star because the waitress was very nice and attentive, otherwise the food is a 2. 1 because it's edible, and another because the portion is huge. It's great that they refill bread because that was the best thing they served. Appetizer: calamari - not as crispy as it should be, was very surprised by how pale the color was considering it was fried...definitely expected more for the price. Entrees: I wanted to love the shrimp capri, but it was bland and the sauce was so thin....it even had the aftertaste of dirty dishwater. The shrimp itself was dry, and the melted mozzarella on top added a strange texture to it. Points for how large the shrimp actually was though! My partner got the sausage pizzaiola which also had incredibly thin sauce. It was like a supreme pizza in pasta form, which isn't terrible but again lacked flavor. The sausage itself was ok, but the overall taste of the dish was lackluster. Overall, not the best tasting food, and definitely not worth the price. However, if you're looking for a place that'll satisfy your kid's pasta needs, and have leftovers, this fits the bill (especially with the refill on breadsticks) read more

I have ordered from casa pasta a few times to pick up, and have eaten in the restaurant once. This particular instance was particularly frustrating. I wanted to order the sampler and substitute cannoli with veal, to fettuccine Alfredo. of course the waitress didn't know if this could be done. Upon the waitress asking whomever it was that she had asked. She came back and said it was not possible to do that. To which I replied in jest, it's literally a sampler, you just leave one of the things off and put another thing on. Anyhow, I usually have no issues to speak of, However, I think it would've been nice to have been offered an alternative solution, as a customer. I even told the waitress I understand there could be a price difference increase. I was willing to go pay it. Again to which I was told no. So I inquired again. So, you're telling me no period and thats it? Correct? to which she responded, yes. To which I responded that is possibly the worst customer service response one could ever give. I am willing to give you more money to alter a particular item on a dish and I was told no. I'm a little disappointed and baffled at the same time., Because the food is very good. When the food did arrive, it was as usual very good. However, I don't like veal cannoli. So I removed it from my dish. And inquired of the waitress if I could have a some oil and herbs for the bread. Too which she responded that is an extra side order of five dollars. Do you still want it? I said no. Anyhow, not the best experience ever, hopefully this review will teach a little bit better customer service. And let me clarify the waitress herself, did her job well and she was tipped accordingly. Only obviously did not know how to mitigate the situation management is responsible for. And management did not even come out to greet me when there was an obvious less than satisfied customer in the restaurant. So I left. Food was good. At this point it's about all I can say. Maybe next time service will be better and they will have read this review and have changed a small yet vital aspect of their customer service, which is, if somebody wants to switch out an item on a particular dish and will pay you extra for it, do it, for God sake, you just turned away money!!! About last night with some friends at Casa Pasta.....I always say, Customer is always right, most 99% of the time........a couple of things, You cannot make a reservation if you have 6 people, or any reservation, then there was a problem about sitting 6 people at a table they, wanted to squeeze us into a booth booth because there was one table that accommodated 6 to 8 people.. Get this, they told ne, somebody who has been in the food and beverage business for years, that it was a fire hazard if they moved any of the tables! What a bunch of bullshit! I have to say what it is..... They had a small room inside where you could easily fit 8 to 10 people in their butt with one exit from that little room come boom, that is a fire hazard! You cannot bullshit a bullshiter! So that was not it's not a good beginning but it got better..... You were allowed to bring our vino or whatever and that was nice and then, the food was good.... And I know it's not the part of the waitress or the person that sits you down but they've been told this BS and for people like me who have been I've been in this business It really looks bad for the owners to tell them such bullshit about not moving a table, 2 tables were next to each other about a foot and a 1/2 a way and could not be slid together! Again ,just a bunch of bullshit! But of course the company was incredibly great So thank you for the invite And the food was good. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad last night, to go, and it was just delicious. The chicken was perfect, the salad dressing/salad equation was perfect, and how nice to find a couple of tomatoes in there. I didn't expect to get bread, and I didn't expect to eat it - but I did! This wonderful light and fluffy croissant like bread stick was a great complement to my salad. So glad that I ordered two salads - I get to have another one today. I will say this is a new business so give them some time to work out the kinks. Walked in and it was hot. They are located in a strip center so that could have been a building issue out of their control. Lots of people picking up to go orders. We were seated and told someone would be with us. All the waitresses were helping the to go orders. They probably need a front end manager to help organize all that. One should help the to go while the others helped those seated. We watched another couple that was seated after us wait a good 15 plus before they were helped. Once we flagged someone down and got service we were well taken care of and they were all polite and nice. The bread is OUTSTANDING. The entrees were a good portion and our food was served hot. I read another review where they were served cold food. We did not experience that at all. Food was hot and fresh. It doesn't seem their salad dressings are made fresh but I still enjoyed mine. Overall we plan on going back to try a few other dishes. We also want to try their pizza. So many people picking up to go orders had pizza. read more
