Food is very good overall. One of the few places I actually like Chicken Parm, as theirs comes out very crispy and tasty. Their lasagna is excellent as well. I like how they take each order and add sauce and cheese before putting it under the broiler before serving so that it doesn't get dried out. I have tried a few different menu items there, but the lasagna is my favorite. There was a time when the service was hit or miss. In particular, there was a guy in his late teens who worked at the to go counter that could not have made it more obvious that he didn't want to be there. I haven't seen him in some time, so he is probably gone. read more

Oh my goodness; Casa Pasta's food is awesome. I can't say enough good things! They have the best bread! Be sure you order the dipping oil; so much flavor (especially if you're a garlic lover)! Hubs had spaghetti with meat sauce and meat balls, and the sauce was fresh and I'm pretty sure made in house. I had the chicken Siciliano, which had fresh mushrooms and artichokes; oh so delicious. Oh! If you get the salad ", try the tomato basil dressing (mad in house); it is really fresh and really flavorful. Overall, now our favorite Italian restaurant. My grandson and I came here on recommendation from a co-worker for great Italian food. We went on a Friday night and there was no wait. We were seated and ordered some drinks. We were told the bread was amazing and we had to get the oil to dip it in. I did, and hated paying $4 extra for some olive oil and herbs, but hey let's see how it goes. The bread was ok. I come from an Italian family so I expected Italian bread, not small individual portioned bread sticks. It was ok, I would not pay for the oil again. My grandson got the Lasagna and I opted for the chicken parm and a side of meatballs. The portions were huge! The lasagna was mostly cheese and sauce with a few noodles and not much else. He barely ate it. The chicken was good, but the spaghetti tasted like it came from a box and the sauce was just bland. The meatballs also tasted like they were not made in house, more breadcrumb taste than anything. The service was excellent, though, and I appreciated the young ladies attentiveness. We happen to be passing by, and wanted to try the place out since it was fairly new. We are a family of 6, so we have the option of getting to pick off of everybody's meal. My wife had a chicken piccata, I had shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, and the kids had spaghetti with meatballs. We also had an appetizer, it was a great calzone style appetizer. The flavors and quality were definitely there. The spaghetti and meatballs seemed fairly basic, but the marinara sauce was pretty good, better than most other quick serve Italian restaurants. My wife's chicken piccata was very flavorful and a nice light crispy breading without it being too soggy. That worked well for her considering she does not eat cheese. My fettuccine Alfredo was also very nice and creamy. It lacked a lot of herbs that I usually find at other Italian restaurants, but it was still very rich and thick. All servings were a very generous portion, and for the price it seemed very reasonable. We look forward to returning again. The other benefit this place has is that those that live north of the area do not have an Italian restaurant option for 40 minutes away, so these guys have it on lockdown! read more

The food was exceedingly mediocre, seemingly straight out of the microwave in the back. As others have noted, the Alfredo was rather bland, the lasagna was reminiscent of canned food slopped onto plain pasta, and my daughter only made it through one bite of her greasy eggplant parm. Disappointing, but nothing ventured/nothing gained, I suppose. The service was mediocre at best. Was left waiting 10+ min for a water refill and had to flag down another server to get it. Bill for 3 adults came to $57 and change which is reasonable. (eh, had the food been a little better quality) Still, I would like to provide a decent tip of around 20%. Except, I only had $20 bills on me and the service was NOT worth a 40% tip. When the "change" was brought back, the last $20 bill was returned instead of broken. I fished around in my pockets and wallet and came up with three more singles plus the $2 and change and that's it. I never write YELP reviews and I never short change on a tip, but the poor food, the lack of service and the fishing for an exceptional tip on that bad service...that's enough to motivate me to leave a jerk tip and drop a bad review. Some people may, and apparently do like it and more power to them. I like Taco Bell occasionally too. read more

Food was fantastic! We got the linguini with clams and the three cheese ravioli. Both were terrifically prepared, but what really stood out to us was the bread and oil! We LOVED this place and consider ourselves fortunate to now have Casa Pasta in the Helotes area! We've always had a "Go-To" Italian restaurant in all the places we've lived, however that place has been noticeably absent these past few years. That ended this past weekend when we went here for the first time at the suggestion of a friend because it was GREAT!! Fresh warm bread, an outstanding menu, specialties that distinguish Casa Pasta from other Italian restaurant chains, best Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had (pictured), great service, etc., you name it and they had it. We went at lunch, so we weren't interested in adult beverages, but if they get licensed to sell beer and wine with dinner, this will undoubtedly be one of the best places for Italian fare in the entire San Antonio area. I would give this restaurant a higher review because their food was great. we dined on 3/16/2024 at 745pm. The issue was the server spilled dressing on my friend's back and jacket. When this was brought to her attention she was not concerned she just brought some napkins not even a I'm sorry. The inconvenience of my friend having to go to restroom and remove shirt and clean it. I ate there the other day with friends. I charged the bill on my credit card. On our way out the waitress pointed out that I did not leave a tip on my receipt. Rather than redo the credit statement I gave her a $10 tip. I noticed on my credit card charge there was an additional $20 charge added to my account. Basically a 10 as far as Italian eateries I've been to. Olive G is like a 2 compared to Casa Pasta. The service is incredible as well, the 4 times I've been there, it was always a very friendly and attentive person. Authentic marinara, authentic chicken parmigiana, the lasagna is to die for. I do not eat much and I usually go for items that re-heat well. I went with the Sausage Pizziola. The dish was excellent. (Pasta was a little to al dente') for my liking. But I know that's the way it's supposed to be. I was right. Took my leftovers to work. It was better the 2nd day. The bread was excellent too. I thought the decor/ambiance needs work.
