Wonderful veggie enchiladas. Thick chips and excellent salsa. White queso blanco was excellent and extremely high quality beef fajita meat. The service was above average even on a busy night. And though a lot too loud on a holiday weekend; it was a clean, beautiful place I'd love to return to on a weekday evening or for lunch. read more

The inside of the cheese enchilada was a room temperature mozzarella cheese stick. The corn tortilla wrapped around it was chewy and dry. The exterior of the enchilada had a little to no sauce on top. The rice beans and hot sauce are very good however. We came in at 2:55. We asked to order from the lunch menu, and were told no. There is no time listed on the lunch menu. The lemonade tasted like water with one lemon squeezed in it. Perhaps because we came in at the end of lunch, the kitchen was just giving us what they had leftover? I judge a Tex-Mex restaurant by the quality of its queso. Every dish we had at our table with queso had a pasty lukewarm white sticky substance that very much resembled cream cheese. Overall, the experience was very underwhelming from the service to the food. We spent $100 on a lunch for five people, and I went home and made enchiladas with actual cheese for dinner. read more

I have tried just about everything on the menu and I have not been disappointed! Favorites: homemade tamal, caldo de res, caldo de pollo, mama's salad, brisket tacos, seafood enchiladas, fajitas, torta, Macacos' burger, Julissa's pasta, pozole, Cameron's chimichanga and pollo en mole. Not impressed. Salsa has a strong vinegar-y taste and quite salty. My husband and I both had enchiladas topped with fajita meat. The enchiladas were not even warm enough to melt cheese and couldn't chew the beef fajita. Manager did come by and asked if we liked. We were honest and told him no. He didn't charge us so that was nice. But won't be back. Two stars because he asked. read more

My wife and I went there on what turned out to be a busy night. The noise level was very high, making it hard to hear each other. I had queso with meat which was pretty good but not great. We split beef fajitas. They were below average. I don't know how they cook the meat, but it just tasted blah, not really like fajita meat. Loved the brisket tacos so much that I didn't even get a pic. Included two street tacos, a small side of tomatoes, lettuce, onions, cilantro & lime to dress the taco. Rice and beans included, which were flavorful and not heavy or greasy! Chips and salsa were great. If you like HOT salsa, you'll enjoy the salsa that comes on the side with the tacos, otherwise, skip it and use the salsa that comes with the chips. Can't wait to be back!! read more

Tried Casa Mama for the first time last night and we were so impressed with the food, service and ambiance. It is a wonderful addition to the Rockwall square. At our daughter's request, We began with their queso which was was fresh, warm and delicious. Our entrees arrived quickly and everything was just as we requested, even the specialized tweaks to the menu were executed flawlessly and graciously. The service was attentive, a glass was never left unfilled, and we were resupplied with fresh salsa before we even thought to request it. The decor was cozy, comfortable and collected. The quality of the food we sampled was excellent and we will be back soon to try other menu offerings. read more

Went to dinner tonight and decided to try the new Mexican place in Rockwall. The atmosphere is lively and they have outdoor seating. Indoors was comfortable without being cold, which I appreciate. The server was not overly friendly nor was she outright rude. We would have liked to see her smiling and interacting with her guests more. Chips and salsa came out (separate bowl of salsa for each of us, A+) and they were pretty good. The salsa tasted fresh. The chips were pretty thick and dense. My friend ordered a margarita which she said was okay. She also had the taco salad that was very fresh and delicious. No shell bowl, but she liked it that way. Another friend had the tilapia taco, she said it was delicious. I had crispy tacos, one beef and one chicken. The beef was delicious! The chicken was plain with no sauce or seasoning in the shredded chicken. Beans and rice were good. All in all they have delicious food and we will definitely be back! read more

We love Casa Mama! We eat here probably three times a week and have never had anything we didn't love. Adrian, the manager, greets us with a smile every time we walk in and treats us like family. Their salsa is the perfect start followed by their build your own guacamole (served at the table). Francesco and Eddie are our two favorite waiters and never seem to let us down. The service here is exceptionally great and you can tell they have put time and effort into looking for quality staff. Ignore the woman who made the comment about the limes. I suggest the tortilla soap, taco salad, and brisket anything! It is July and people are willing to sit outside to eat here! 100% worth the wait. Tex-mex that was good and very affordable for the quality. I had a combo fajita plate of ship/steak/ chicken and sausage. My wife had the tortilla soup that was more of a stew than a broth. I hate leaving a harsh review as I'm always rooting for a local business/restaurant to do well. Based on the two things we tried, it's actually closer to 2-stars, but instead of leaving such a low rating, hopefully future patrons will read my actual review. First, let me say the atmosphere is awesome. This place has a good feel to it. That's the only worthy quality. As as serious tequila consumer and margarita fan, their margaritas are horrendous. Cloyingly sweet and like drinking straight simply syrup. The worst I've ever had. Period. Their house mix (which is a mixture of lime juice and agave syrup and is what's used in all their margaritas, from the house margarita to a "top shelf" margarita) is terrible. Like drinking pure sugar, which is not what a worthy/quality margarita should be. We didn't have any main entrees. We did had the queso and chips and the queso was underwelming, to say the least. If you're a fan of quality margaritas, this isn't your place. read more

Let's start with we could not talk ourselves into trying something from the bar because of all the bad reviews. Chips and salsa were on point. We enjoyed the spicy warmth of the salsa. The lunch Tostaditas were a perfect portion but had zero flavor. I added the salsa to my last 3 for flavor. The Chalupas plate was definitely filling for my companion, she did not eat all 3 of them. Plenty of meat for a meat lover. She enjoyed the flavor of the Chalupas. We had sweet tea as our beverage, it is comparable to Taco Casa tea with its sweetness which we loved so we had 2 glasses each. Service was amazing from the front door until we paid and exited the back door. We both thought that the front and back patio areas were great ideas as far as using all the space they could for seating. read more

I absolutely LOVE casa mama, so glad they opened up a new location in Rockwall. The food is amazing, the staff and service is always fantastic, every is always very nice and accommodating to customers. Beautiful location inside that is always clean. The prices are great as well. My favorite meal is the cheese enchiladas with chipotle sauce or the salmon meal, both are great and the adult beverages are delicious. Oh yeah, get the queso, it's a must have! The only word I can find to describe this place is DISMAL. We ordered cheese enchiladas with chili sauce, brisket enchiladas, queso, and a piece of Tres Leches cake. The chili sauce looked like BAD off-brand dog food. We threw them away. The brisket enchiladas were mediocre at best. We ate half, and threw them away. Queso is a bland muck that I can only liken to eating Elmer's Glue. Into the trash it went... The Tres Leches cake was store-bought garbage, served just slightly cold...again, to the curb....if you want to throw some $$$ in the trash, this is the place for you...we had high hopes, but this is an embarrassment for Tex-Mex, especially since it is in TEXAS! read more

My wife and I were headed to our spot Trevinos to have lunch and at the last minute decided to try out this place. Huge Mistake!! Everything they served was too salty. The 2 of us left there still hungry after paying $40 for lunch. She and I had coke to drink. I had a beef burrito covered in queso, with rice and beans. She has 2 cheese enchiladas.
