However, if you find yourself in Cody, needing a place to rest your head, this is a very nice place. Its on the edge of town, for me was on the way "in" from the East, and is up a dirt road that you should probably not drive too fast on, but not one with a lot of potholes or anything like that. There are not many rooms here, and from what I understand only single beds, but each room as two of those. Some rooms share a bath, others do not. There are two "houses" that have rooms in them. Communal entryways and a shared kitchen area, which is stocked with a few pans and things like that. On the honor system they provide sodas, I think they were fifty cents each?, and you put money in a jar. There is also a washer dryer, also honor system that you can use. I had not expected this, but was thrilled, as I had been traveling for some time and the laundry was piling up. While they supply soap as well, I used my own. I'm not sure what the suggested donation was there, but there was one, it was more than reasonable, and frankly, its great to be able to do laundry and not have to sit at a Laundromat etc. Each place has a living room, and while there were tvs in those, I did not watch them. There is free wifi. The grounds are lovely, many statues made by the owner, shes an artists as well. She has traveled worldwide, and the influences show in her art work. There is a lama that comes to visit as well, but don't worry, there are cow grates to keep the animals out, but that allow you to drive in and out as you need. They do host many retreats, hence the "shared rooms" and I think they are often full with those. This is a "no frills" place, but its very nice, the couple who run it are terrific and its a nice thing to do that's a little different from the usual hotel experience. I loved this place and would have stayed more than one night if I could. Cody itself is a great town that I also enjoyed. (While it is part of the Episcopalian diocese in WY, you don't have to be a member of the church, or any other church for that matter to enjoy this space.)

We went to Wyoming to visit family in Powell (25 miles away). We were looking for a place to stay to accommodate 5 of us without breaking the bank. Having been in the hotel industry for 15 years, one can't help but become a bit of a hotel snob...and all the hotels/motels in Cody weren't really pulling my fancy. So when hubby found K3 guest ranch online, I was intrigued but wary because I've never stayed in a bed and breakfast. And boy, was I glad that we decided to stay here. Driving in was a bit of a challenge, because we got a bit turned around we ended up arriving later than we expected. And no wonder they make sure that you arrived the first time around prior to 6pm. Because the place is really well hidden. You are close enough to town, but far enough away from hustle and bustle. The paved road will end about 1.5 mile away from the house, and you will drive down a graveled dirt road for a bit. You get deer, cattle, horses, pronghorns as company. Coming from a city like LA, this was really a different experience, and I loved it. The night we checked in, we couldn't really see much of the property, because it was dark. But when the sun come up in the morning, that's when you really get a sense of your surroundings. And it will put you in awe of the serenity and expansive land around you. Most certainly something we don't see in the city. 30 something acres of land surrounding a main house that was built by the owner himself 20 years ago along with a glamour tent and a sheep wagon on the sides of the main house. And the details are amazing because one can really see the care they put into turning this into a B&B are notches above others. There is outdoor seating area, fire pit, horse corral, green house to list a few. The service itself is wonderful. From Jerry (the owner), Betty (Jerry's wife), Debbie & Jojo (masters of all departments--they cook, feed and clean up after you), we couldn't asked for a better group of people to spend our breakfast with every morning. They truly make you feel like family, especially Jerry and his great sense of humor. If you are looking for great entertainment along with great accommodation, this would be the place for you. We stayed at the Glamour Tent off to the side of the main house. It's really a tent (soft wall and all) but it has real roof, foundation, small porch, a king sized bed, a bunk bed, a foldable cot, full sized bathroom, and a kitchenette complete with microwave, mini fridge, sink, coffee maker, utensils, etc. the tent will sleep 5-6 people comfortably. It's heated with wall units, also has a ceiling fan, wall a/c. I had thought we were going to freeze our butts off, because the weather was around the high 30's and Mid 40's at night. But the heaters in the tent along the one in the bathroom really kept the place nice and toasty. It was really windy and the wind took us a bit to get used to, that's just because we were 'city slickers'. Every morning breakfast is served in the main house at 8am sharp. And they do feed you good breakfast. Debbie is definitely a great cook. She and Jojo (her sister) will take care of you like family. After breakfast we go about our days, I always sit out on the swing and take in the big open sky and green field like nothing we would find in LA. And my kids will play outside with the residential dog/s. Definitely a great place to unplug and unwind. That's because it's really off the beaten path, please note that cell phone signal and wifi were very patchy. But it got the kids to notice the outdoor more. And that to me is mission accomplished. The Old Faithful room used to be the garage so it had it's own little driveway and patio..........it was just perfect and it was a bit more private than the other rooms. Although we had our own little patio we chose to use the bigger and more public patio in the back of the house. It was overrun with flowers and birds.....our stay was just a little noisy with all the birds, but it was amazing. Robin and Bob were both very welcoming and filled with knowledge (that they shared) about the area. The stay included 3 dogs that were very friendly and fun to be around. The breakfasts were great! One morning we had eggs, they were steamed and perfect. We also had sausage patties, homemade gingerbread muffins, fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee. Everything was very well presented and served. We were offered a couple of muffins for the road. On the morning that we had to leave early to go horseback riding Robin made us breakfast burritos for the road. They were very good. This is probably the best place to stay while in Cody. The price was right, the location was great and it was very clean and comfortable.

The owners are amazing, genuinely warm and kind people. There was no awkwardness that there sometimes is-- I felt like we were staying at my aunt and uncle's place. I find myself actually longing for an excuse to go back to Cody (I was there on business with a colleague) so I can stay here again. The B&B itself is completely refurbished-- everything is new and clean and nice. The rooms don't have individual bathrooms, but there's a shared one down the hall that is very nice. It's not a huge place (4 rooms), so you're not competing with a lot of people for bathroom space. And best part is, you're walking distance from downtown Cody. Breakfast... let's discuss BREAKFAST. There are so many B&Bs where breakfast is a small, modest affair. Not here. Despite the fact that we had a 7:30 am flight and would be leaving for the airport at 6:30 am, Sondra INSISTED that she would be up to make us breakfast. I can't remember it all now, but it felt like there were umpteen courses.... fresh fruit, fresh waffles, baked goods, etc. All home cooked and all delicious. And then a week or so after we stayed there, they sent us each a postcard, thanking us for our stay and asking us to come back the next time we found ourselves in Cody. Which is exactly what I'm planning to do.
