We had just finished our second day in Yellowstone, and were spending the night in Cody. The Cody hotel is well situated within the community, and has great parking. The hotel itself leans heavily into the western decor, but in a classy way. Our room was spacious and clean, and had a great view of the sunset. In the morning, the breakfast was very well done. Stayed for one night. Hotel is very clean but super outdated. The TVs in the room still have a DVD player attached, and there are DVDs in the lobby for you to pick out. Shower head in the bathroom was tiny and looks like it's from 1990. The lobby is actually decorated nicely though to their credit. Overall, I wasn't that impressed. We normally stay at chains, but I'm glad we didn't! This hotel is a modern day experience... they provide warm, comfortable rooms. The beds are firm, but plush. The decor is rich and western themed. They have hot tubs in certain rooms and robes available as well!!! The people are more than accommodating and genuinely welcoming ... like your grandparents bringing you inside for a chat! We will definitely stay here again as we felt appreciated like no hotel chain can do! read more

Twas a dilemma! Dave booked a substandard motel from booking .com and I had a fit. This was the third time this trip that we had to find another dog friendly hotel. We went to the Holiday Inn, but they only allow service dogs. They were nice enough to recommend the Cody Hotel. The location is perfect, not in a crowded area with Mountain View's all around. The landscaping of the hotel, fire pit, dog walking area with clean up bags, and patio are just some of the amenities. Some rooms have balconies and you can watch the sun set from your comfortable chair. We entered the lobby and Terry greeted us. He gave us a lovely room at the end of the first floor. Terry also helped David with the trolley, opening the doors and taking him to our room. The lobby is decorated so beautifully with comfy chairs and tables for relaxing. There is an indoor heated swimming pool and a gym. Breakfast is included and although we have a dog, we were allowed to eat in the lobby with her. Beautiful artwork and a picture of the Hitchcock Road show when they were in Brooklyn New York covered the walls. The room itself had two queen size beds, a refrigerator, microwave tastefully hidden in a cabinet. There was a coffee pot and some gourmet coffee. There are lots of towels and bar soap along with shampoo and conditioner and a sterilized bath mat for the shower. We were very impressed that the cleaning crew made the beds the second day. They are efficient and had cleaned the room while we had breakfast. Cody is a beautiful city and the Cody Hotel made our stay worthwhile! read more

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Cody hotel. Very convenient to the rodeo, and many nearby restaurants. The balcony is a nice touch, and the room was spacious, with all the amenities needed including a fridge & microwave, and the shower pressure was wonderful. Cody as a city is the easiest way to enter Yellowstone, as the east entrance is far less busy than the West entrance which we passed by and saw was backed up for hours. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it. Overall a very pleasurable stay, and I would highly recommend. read more

The hotel is on the edge of town, very quiet and clean. We stayed there for three days , loved it Nice rooms , very clean hotel never say anything that needed repair or cleaned up They have a heated pool and spa and Sauna the pool is heated which was a plus. They serve breakfast from 630 to 10am breakfast was always good. The staff was always so nice and willing to help with anything. The room was good we had the 2 queen sizes beds, it had a hidden microwave and small refrigerator. hard wood floors which are good when you got kids . There was an phone in the bathroom. Which I haven't see. In years. Most rooms had a balcony So you can sit and watch the sun rise or set which a great view of the mountains. The whole hotel had a nice rustic feeling. And the history of the town inside. It was a very nice hotel and I would definitely stay there again read more

Everything about this hotel is first class. The rooms are updated, comfortable, well appointed. The staff are helpful and courteous. The included breakfast is wonderful! I have to leave Cody for Bozeman, and am having trouble finding as nice an accommodation as The Cody, at even twice the price! Wish there was this brand of hotel throughout the West! read more

Very nice hotel for the area We decided to stay in this hotel for 2 nights while touring the area. It is very easy to get to and is right off of Yellowstone Ave near the edge of town toward Yellowstone national park. There is plenty of parking. Check-in was easy. The staff was very friendly. There are shields in place at the front counter for COVID compiance. The hotel looks like a rustic lodge with large timbers, stone floors and carpeting set into the stones. The room that we got looked like a standard 2 bedroom affair with a balcony. Overall, a very nice hotel for the area for the price. read more

Great location within walking distance of the Cody Rodeo. Nice lobby, and we enjoyed having a balcony. I was also happy to have a bath tub which seems like something that's being phased out in newer hotels so that was a bonus for me. Most impressive was the fact that shortly after we left, we received a call bc I had left my glasses behind. My husband gave them the info to ship them to our home and we had them within days. I read some of the negative reviews and to be honest, I loved it. I'm not easy going either. The hotel was clean and had nice furniture through the lobby. The staff was swift and courteous. Everyone was so friendly there at the hotel. The ladies at the front desk were so nice to chat with. They love what they do and want your business. The breakfast was good and had a lot of different varieties. I'm glad I found this place cause Im looking at dates to come back. read more

We loved our dog friendly room with the closed patio area and view of the mountains. We loved the firm mattress and the spacious rooms. We had plenty of towels, which is a nice change from our usual stays. The fitness center looked really nice, but I chose to take a run outside and look at the mountains. I liked the breakfast setup, and the gentleman who set it up was very polite and clearly takes pride in his work. It wasn't your standard hotel breakfast that looks a mess. It was so neat and organized. The vending machines had lots to offer, including hiking stuff like sunscreen and insect repellant. I love little touches like this. This is a great hotel the only complaint is we have a kiddo who can't have cheese( he will get sick ) so when we asked if we could get a breakfast sandwich w out cheese the morning staff said no we pre make them and said I can just scrape the cheese off ( doesn't work w a lactose free kid ) There was no other option but a breakfast sandwich for him to have breakfast so we had to leave to get him something to eat and this staff could care less . read more

Excellent hotel! Staff was great upon arrival and throughout our stay. 3rd floor rooms have balconies - get one on the west side if you can to enjoy the view. Beds are comfy. Good breakfast, coffee bar open all day. Fresh baked Cookies in the afternoon :) Pool, spa, fitness center and sauna open 24 hours! You can walk to the rodeo grounds easy! Plenty of parking. Outdoor fire pit with s'mores kits from the front desk. Only compliant is no bar/restaurant in the hotel. read more

Ok. We drove hard for three days to get to Cody. We arrived around 5:00 pm and were the only car in the parking lot. The Hotel is quaint and appears to be clean. Our room was comfortable. However out of curiosity I decided to return our luggage cart to the lobby and take a look at the hotel amenities. I checked out the pool. The times of operation are posted "open 24 hours, do not enter any other time" I saw the breakfast area and stuck my head into that room. It was nice. Then all of a sudden the manager comes running to where I was. It was obvious that he thought I was a threat of some kind. I told him I loved the ambience of the hotel. However, he needs to act like a professional and act as if he has had seen a paying customers in the lobby of his hotel without being suspicious of them. Oh. The note in the room was cute. Absolutely loved it very clean and the front desk ladies where very nice and full of information on our trip to yellow stone and gave us a map and pointed out places to stop and see. They provide complimentary breakfast which is nice and tasted good. Great location little drive out side of main strip which is nice and right next to the rodeo and across the street from old west town . If we ever make it through Cody again will definitely stay at the Cody hotel again. read more

After a 8 hour tour in Yellowstone National Park, we drive to Cody to do the museums and rodeo. The Rodeo company recommended The Cody Hotel. Comfortable beds clean rooms and central areas. We will have a breakdown that is included tomorrow. So far so good. ! read more

This place used to be good and nice but now seams to be running down. Last two times we stayed here people were smoking just outside there rooms on decks with doors open so it stunk up the place Mold in bathrooms Three differ rooms all had toilet problems rocking. Breakfast lady is great read more

Stayed here amidst a cross-country roadtrip. As a world traveler, I know a good hotel when I see one - this is among the top tier. I've stayed at everything from an EconoLodge where I got flea bites to the Ritz-Carleton, and I can tell you that this stay topped all of them. We got in for $90 a night on the military rate, and before they'd even check us in they invited us to sit and have coffee next to the fireplace, a welcome invitation for late October travel in Wyoming. We also enjoyed an invitation to the cheesecakes slices that were out, which were tasty. Once checked in I was astounded by the room - beautiful, unique, wonderfully decorated, comfortable, warm, and beds of the heavens. I really can't - even if I try - find something to complain about regarding this stay. Free wifi, great breakfast, classy lounge and lobby area, nice folks. We recently returned to The Cody after the Covid-enduced travel cut back. This time we stayed in a King suite and thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't say enough about the hotel or staff. The only thing that would make the room better would be a coffee table in front of the couch! Breakfasts were very good but I passed on the biscuits and gravy (too thin). Evening management was one of the poorest I have ever seen in a hotel establishment. We have been staying with this hotel multiple times a year for the last 7 years and we have NEVER been treated so poorly by staff. The front desk staff talking absurd about a group of people to others checking in, comments made loud enough about more guests not being able to stay at the hotel again. Other guests had asked names of employees and they would not answer. Are you in the wrong or just embarrassed of yourselves? The "manager" that showed up around 9pm, in tow with a friend walking in drinking a beer (extra large chilada to be exact! In a white older body style Tahoe and white hummer with a tree service magnet on the side) at the front counter for an hour who got involved with guests... yeah weird right?! The "manager" then decided to kick all the kids out of the pool, NOT just the ones causing the problems but also decided to kick a mother out of the hotel that WASN'T involved in the situation at all and getting the cops involved in one of most innocent interactions I have ever seen. She simply asked "why can't my 5 year daughter use the pool". Never once was this mother out of control. Period. The guests in the lobby were actually a little louder at the time! Sad this was one of our favorite hotels over the years but we will be switching to elsewhere. They were always accommodating before. I hope another family doesn't have to go through uncalled for events. read more

The worst managed hotel in town. They called the cops on a mom who asked if her girls could swim after a group was kicked out for being wild. The cops came and he had her removed from the hotel for the night. She had JUST arrived and the girls had nothing to do with the other group kicked from the pool. Horrible, horrible management. I wouldn't stay here if there were no other rooms in town and the only other choice was to sleep in a snow bank. Absolutely never give these people your money. read more

One of the best stays ever! We drove through Cody, WY after spending some time in Montana and Wyoming and The Cody Hotel was our best stay of the trip by far! A lot of hotels say they are pet friendly but make traveling with your dog complicated, not The Cody Hotel. We travel a lot with our dog and they were the most accommodating towards him. They didn't charge a pet fee which is rare. They also welcome our dog with open arms. They gave him treats and knew him by name. The rooms were awesome and you can tell they thought of every little detail. They did a great job with COVID and provided complementary warm breakfast sandwiches and coffee in the morning. Rooms were extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower and clean. The lobby is also warm and inviting. The staff is top notch, can't say enough good things about them! Everyone was so nice and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay! Very inviting and knowledgeable of the area! We were originally booked for one night and added another night because we loved it there so much! Can I give negative stars? This place was recommended to us by a local co-op shop worker as the best in Cody. Wrong! The first room we were assigned smelled so horrible of dog that we requested another room. Although this one smelled better, the bathtub/shower was covered with mold/mildew. Disgusting! For 250 dollars per night I expect more than apologetically polite service. The room was clean and well furnished but no better than I've ever seen at hotels for half that price. The area is expensive, but that's tourism for you, that is understandable. Nevertheless, the utter absence of value spoiled a good day. No complementary dinner options and -- even considering the pandemic precautions -- The most pitiful sausage and muffin breakfast sandwich I've ever seen. So soaked in grease, it was the sort of food I'd enjoy experiencing for a Quarter's worth of foreign currency in the middle of a decidedly rough and tumble night. Go with 2 stars and feel marginally less ripped off. read more

Lovely hotel on the western edge of Cody. We had asked to change rooms for one with a balcony and the staff was very accommodating. Our room was clean, extremely quiet, and the free breakfast downstairs was great. While we had to drive in to town for dinners and such (rush hour is like, non-existent in Cody, coming from Silicon Valley), I liked the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. There is a pool downstairs and exercise room as well as a nice sitting area and computers to use if you need to print up anything. There is also some vending machines and movies to watch in an area near the front desk. They served fresh cookies two of the three nights we were there too! We will definitely be staying here again next time we are back in the area. A bit more expensive than other hotels, but the silence, cleanliness, and friendly staff make this place well worth your money. read more

We got in late and the kids weren't tired so it was nice to have something for them to do while we relaxed. It's close to quite a few things and the continental breakfast had a wide variety.
