No frills and comfortable! I had a king bed, which took up most of the room. I was only there to sleep, so I had no issues with the size. The bathroom was very large and included all of your needs. The shower had the most amazing water pressure! It was a welcome treat after a day of hiking. There isn't a mini-fridge, so bring a little cooler for your drinks. There are ice machines available. Check in was easy and the parking directly next to your cabin is an added bonus! It was super quiet and I had no issues! The location is super convenient to walking downtown for a meal or a cocktail. read more

Family roadtrip brought us through Cody, WY. Needed a place with budget lodging. Stopped in at Holiday Inn and they were pricy. The man at the counter recommended we check out the cabins at Buffalo Bill Village. They are owned by the same person, but a little cheaper than the hotel. We walked over to a separate building within the same parking lot, 30 feet away and found wonderful customer service. Before we committed to a cabin, the lady was going to show us 2 potential cabins to stay in. We followed her out to a golf cart and she drove us to the first cabin #386. They were located behind the hotel but had it's own vibe in privacy. We fell for the first cabin right away and stayed the night. 4 adults, we wanted to each have our own bed after sharing the night before. *I don't mind sharing, but I tend to sleep like a starfish, all stretched out. * This cabin has 4 queen beds. One room of 2 Queens was set at the entrance, then an upgraded Jack n Jill bathroom, followed by the 2nd bedroom with the other 2 queens. Each bedroom had a wardrobe, tv, ceiling fan! and air conditioner. Plus it was on the end so we parked right next to the door. Yes the AC was loud so we just settled for running the ceiling fan, which we do at home. This is the only place I've even stayed at that had celing fans... awesome! The bathroom had a pedestal sink so not much room for toiletries, but there was a shelf above by the mirror. The shower had good water pressure and fancy shampoo, conditioner, and body soap dispenser mounted inside. We all took showers, Ma was last to go and thought it wasn't super hot. I'm not sure if we had used it all or if she didn't push the faucet ALL the way over. Other than the time of showers being used, I never felt trapped in the back bedroom. We checked out the gift shop the next morning during checkout. There was a stuffed Buffalo animal sitting on bed in our cabin (for decor, not to steal). It was so darn cute that Ma had to get a "Buffy" and bring out home. Out of all the places we stayed at during our 8 night, 5 state road trip, this was one of our favorites. Thank you. read more

I stayed here 3 nights while visiting Yellowstone National Park. It is a cozy room, comfortable bed and modern bathroom. I was going to stay at a nearby Holiday Inn, but the rooms were all taken. The helpful receptionist suggested I check out the Buffalo Bill cabins. I was able to rent a one bed cabin for a reasonable price (about $120 a night). They gave me 2 metal keys and a coupon for the store. The cabins have a light above the door, making it easy to find your cabin / and the door handle at night. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again. Good for people who like the idea of a "summer camp" style cabin. I asked about a mini fridge, the lady behind the desk said, it does not come with one , but one could be requested. Pros - You can park very close to your cabin. - comfortable bed - modern bathroom, perhaps better than most Inns at that price - ice machine - has a ceiling fan, whereas most motels only has lamps spread throughout the room. Cons - Very windy, causing the door to rattle. I thought maybe someone was trying to break in. Had I stayed in a hotel, where the front door is indoors, this would not happen. - does not come with a mini fridge nor coffee maker. I came ready for the "cabin experience" so not a deal breaker for me, atleast. - While it does come with a desk, it is in a tiny alcove. You might feel cramped, sitting at the desk / table, eating or on your tablet. It is a cabin after all, so I suppose one must work with the space one has. read more

This place was clean and the cabin we stayed in had 3 beds and 1 bathroom but it was in between the to bedrooms. So I had to close both doors to use it. Continental breakfast was nothing special. Coffee was nasty. Recommend going out for breakfast but because it's a tourist town be prepared to wait 30 minutes or better. Only stayed here before of a school event. read more

This place looks really cute from the outside, but it is super nasty once you enter. First of all, the smell makes me nauseous. The place smells like your granny's perfume except it is trying to cover up some very old and musty smell. The combination makes me want to vomit. Once you overcome the smell and try to sleep, you can't! The AC unit is so noisy that I have to use ear plugs in order to block out most of the noise. The weirdest part of this place is having a bathroom right in between two rooms. The bathroom doesn't have any locks on the door, so it is inconvenient if you need some privacy. There's no breakfast just some coffee. There's a pool but it's inside a different hotel. There's no fridge or microwave just two small round tables. Overall, this place meets our needs but not the most ideal place to stay. read more

For the price you pay, ~$100, I would have hoped for better. It's just so incredibly small without a microwave or fridge. It's ok, I used the ice machine and kept some of my food cold like that. Couldn't heat up my food so I just went out to eat. There's also a heater in the room that turns on and off by itself and there's no way for us to turn it off. So basically when the room was super hot, we couldn't turn off the heater, we had to combat it using AC which is so counterproductive and un-environmentally friendly! I felt bad so I just forced myself to sleep and didn't use the AC. There's only 1 chair and a small table and no sort of table or rack to put you luggage on. The room is meant for 4 and I just spent the whole night in the bed because there was no point in getting up and squeezing past people! The room is so small that the bed next to the restroom blocked a portion of the restroom door. Restroom was clean and fine. The sink stopper was malfunctioning but we didn't really need that. Staff was nice though, but I think I could probably spend a bit more for a nicer hotel. read more

Husband booked a stay at this place near Yellowstone. There were 4 of us (15, 17, & 2 adults). We attempted to gain entrance to our cabin with real keys! Neither of them would open the door, she we got 2 other keys (which also didn't work). Went back to the office and a maintenance guy met us with the master key and tried all 6 keys given to us. 1 finally worked. Don't recommend anyone stay here if you have more than 2 people. It's VERY SMALL and dated. There were 2 double beds, a foldable luggage rack, a wooden chair, & a cabinet. Room size was about 10 ft x 12 ft, not including the bathroom. There was about 24 inches of walking space between all furniture pieces. A clock/radio was on a nightstand between beds. There was a baseboard heater (that didn't work), a window air conditioner, and a ceiling fan. The window rattled from the wind all night, which actually put my daughter to sleep. Good things: the ladies in the office were nice, the shower was big & warm, and the pillows were fluffy. The photos online made the cabins seem bigger to us, showing a 2 cushion couch. All of this for $189.00. Decide wisely. It may be perfect for you, but not us. read more

My wife and I and our two kids stayed here for two nights recently. We were pretty disappointed in the cabin. We had one with a queen bed as you enter, then the bathroom, then a bedroom with two more beds at the rear. Not very spacious at all, not really any place to set or gather together, let alone put much luggage, etc. It was pretty clean, and the shower was nice. The location is pretty good. The AC was really noisy. Won't stay here again and suggest that other's look elsewhere as well. There are better options. read more

We spent two nights there. Positives: You can park right next to your cabin, so loading/unloading is easy. Clean restroom. Negatives: 1. This was listed as a 3-star hotel. It is not any better than 2-star places I've stayed at, and in some ways worse. The price was about the same as the Super 8 in town. 2. No continental breakfast. Not a deal breaker, but for the same price I could have had one at the Super 8. 3. No microwave or fridge. You guessed it: Super 8 had them! 4. TV entertainment options were quite limited. And I could not use my Chromecast with it. Motels/hotels need to get with the reality of the modern age. I have stayed at places that have various options (e.g. log in to Netflix, allow the use of Chromecast/Roku, etc). In this day and age, regular cable TV is worse than what most people have at home - it's not a plus, but a minus. Regular cable subscription is declining every year. Neutrals: The room is quite small, but it was tolerable. Given the proximity to Yellowstone, and how expensive all other cities other than Cody are, the price itself was not too bad. However, the city simply had other options that were better for the same price. I picked this only because it was listed as a 3-star hotel, so I was hoping there would be something redeeming about it. read more

Even in prime season I am not very good about booking in advance. Pulled into Cody at about 7 pm knowing that rooms could be hard to come by and the prices would be up. Holiday inn had a 2 bed special for $220 with breakfast. I'll pass. They mentioned the little cabins/gift shop in the same parking lot. Went into the gift shop-adorable, and the people overwhelmed us with kindness and discounts. Ok I agree the cabins are small. We got a 2 room 3 bed with the bathroom in the middle. Like you have to walk through the bathroom to get to one of the bedrooms. Whatever.... rooms were super clean and comfortable. People were very nice and attentive to our needs and they negotiate price. We ended up paying $139 and they have my grandson a $10 off discount in the gift shop on a 14.00 item because he was wearing an air force shirt. I highly recommend this place. read more

Buffalo Bill Village - Tiny? Yes. Excellent value. - Hotels Near Me - Cody, Wyoming

Cody, Wyoming is an expensive place to get a hotel in the rodeo season, which happens to be every single night in June, July and August. The proximity to the eastern gate of Yellowstone National Park does not help the matter of cost either. The Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn and Buffalo Bill Village are all owned by the same company and operate on each others backs, its a little bit of a monopoly and a little bit of coercion all wrapped up together. The Holiday/Comfort Inn rooms were $180 (US Dollars) per night, which is probably the most expensive room in town. We managed to get a cabin at the Buffalo Bill Village for about $120 (US Dollars) per night, which is still too expensive for what you get. That being said: PROs -cabin was the perfect size for two people -the bathroom was freshly remodeled and sparkling clean -could pull the vehicle up directly outside the cabin -access to the cool Wyoming night air CONs -no breakfast included -below average WiFi -considerably walk to the ice machine -air conditioner was louder than it needed to be I would probably stay here again, since it is basically right downtown, the access to restaurants and such is walking distance. The people working at the hotel were all smiles and polite, even when i told them that they needed to upgrade that WiFi signal! Also, you end up checking in/out in a cowboy-esque store in the parking lot that sells all the dusty trail equipment you'll ever need. read more

Not a fan. We wanted to stay at either the Comfort Inn or the Holiday Inn. Both were sold out, so the management (they are apparently owned by the same company) offered us a Buffalo Bill cabin. It was clean, but very small. The air conditioner was situated so that it blew directly on the beds sounded like a jet on final approach and seemed to be inadequate to boot. The cabins are lined up cheek-to-jowl and don't have windows that open. No free breakfast and I couldn't get a wifi connection where we were. All in all, kind of creepy and not very convenient and not inexpensive either. I think we could have done much better if we had tried one of the several other places in town. read more

This was my favorite shop in Cody, WY! They were having a wonderful sale and had so many unique things....I had a hard time deciding what to buy! My mom and her friend had been there a couple years ago and suggested we stop. Each of us ended up buying something...then I brought my husband back because I regretted not buying a certain item earlier! There is a large variety of clothing, shoes, souvenirs, western wear, scarves, etc. It has a great location (right on the corner next to the Holiday Inn). When we went back for the second trip, they were having a free sampling party for all of their jams, crackers, fruits, drinks and spreads. Very unique...will, without a doubt, be back the next time I visit Cody! read more

This is the typical Blair Hotels property, where room rates are negotiated as if it were a straw market. The dude in front of me paid $120 for his cabin, while I paid $195 through Expedia. The elderly lady at the check in counter said it was because Expedia charges "them" a 30% commission and there was no room for negotiation. Aside from that, this property is tucked behind an adjoining Holiday Inn (also a Blair property) and difficult to find. The cabins are like sheds, with only one small window in the main room that didn't even open. The wall unit AC above the bed sounded like an airplane engine, making it very difficult to sleep. The bright security lighting from the adjoining Holiday Inn was obnoxious, creating an even more unpleasant sleeping experience. While the room was relatively clean and the bed was on the comfortable side, this property could have gotten a 2.5 rating...but, the loud knock at the door and jingling of keys at 7:30AM was uncalled for. The attendant with the keys claimed that he thought the room was empty. I doubt that, as it is very obvious the cabin was occupied because vehicle parking is directly next to each cabin. There was no apology, thank you or anything upon check out. The next sleep-over in Cody WON'T be at the Buffalo Bill Village. ~gw/ read more

BEWARE THE AMBUSH CABINS! My mother and I arrived around 8:30PM on a Wednesday night to find that both the Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn were booked for the night. As we got into the car to try elsewhere, someone in a golf cart pulled right up to my car asking if we needed lodging- clearly lying in wait for the poor souls being turned away from the two other properties (someone was also stationed up at the Comfort). They showed us the cabins (surprise- ALSO owned by the same group) and offered to show us the "one" they had available. Being worn out from a day at Yellowstone and driving nearly 12 hours, we agreed. Upon seeing the cabin, which was nicely decorated, cute and with a modern bathroom, we agreed to stay, with the folks telling us that "at this time of night, we can drop the price." The people showing the cabins have schmooze down to a science. While we *may* have saved money in comparison to the nearby hotels, the downsides were as follows: - Air conditioner wall unit was so loud we had to turn it off and rely on the ceiling fan (as others have mentioned). The longer it ran, the worse it got. - Shower door rolled open by itself - Toilet stuck when flushing, had to jiggle the handle/take top off and push flapper down -WiFi had poor strength and faded out continuously -Access to the pool at the Holiday Inn, but no breakfast (and for what you pay, you should at least get a continental spread.) NICE THINGS: beds were comfortable, people were nice, could park right next to unit. Upon hearing the list of issues, they graciously refunded us $25. I almost hate writing this review because everyone was so nice. Avoid the ambush and seek the hotels on the main drag prior to downtown Cody. read more

I do NOT recommend! I was highly disappointed in my stay. I booked this hotel while on a road trip primarily so that I could have good internet for work in the morning. I was not given the password so I had to go back to the desk. Upon request, I was met with confusion. They DIDN'T even know the password for Buffalo Bill's so they gave me a couple to try. That internet wouldn't even work so then I called and they gave me the password to Holiday Inn's internet. That internet was so BAD that I had to sit in the busy lobby from 5 am to 1 pm with my laptops to be able to do my work. It was distracting and not a good work environment. When expressing my issues with the staff I was met with a "we don't care" or "can't do anything for you" attitude when this was the ONLY reason I booked a hotel with them in the first place. Also, the rooms don't even have microwaves or refrigerators so we asked the front desk to keep our stuff in a refrigerator for us and they told us they could not be liable for our things. read more

The restaurant at the Holiday Inn (on a side note) is not very good. If it's anywhere around 30 to 40 degrees outside, beware. The cabins have a 2 to 3 foot base radiant heater for a standard size hotel room. I froze all night and morning. Don't plan on watching a little TV before you try to sleep or the morning news. The TV was unwatchable. All analog and will make you dizzy. Also, some of the cabins are a long walk. read more

Tried to stay at Holiday Inn, but thought the rates were exorbitant. They said they also had cabins available, making it appear that they were also Holiday Inn--which they aren't. Though still expensive, the rates were better. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable. The wall air conditioners were right above the beds were extremely loud and blowing on us as we slept. But the deal breaker was the smell--the cabin smelled like sewer aroma had been in it for 40 years. Much as we enjoyed Cody, I would never, ever, ever, set foot in one of those cabins again. This is the definition of overpriced. We were looking for a place to stay fairly close to Yellowstone and stumbled upon this. What a horrible decision it was to stay here. Right away, the moldy smell was unbearable. To make it as close to bearable as possible, we opened the door, turned on the fan, and even forced open the single small window that was obviously not meant to be opened. That brings me to the next problem. The "cabin" only had a single small window. It felt quite closed off from the outside world. Additionally, the only way the room actually resembled a cabin is from the outside. Next... The room was tiny, nothing worth $179 per night. It was cheaply furnished and the wifi they promised was unusable. 0.3 mb/s is a joke. Finally, after asking where breakfast was, we were informed that we could pay another $30 for breakfast at a nearby restaurant. How is there no free breakfast included in the $179 price tag?! Unfortunately, this motel-like lodging is claiming to be a middle to upper-class hotel through there pricing. Then again, even motels I've been at have offered free breakfast. Very, very disappointed in this stay, and I can't possibly recommend it. In fact, I'd urge you to look elsewhere. read more

Cabins were extremely small and cramped. Barely enough room for a family of four with two children and luggage; even for one night. Agree with the odd smell. Wifi service was very spotty and lagged. The water in the shower kept running very hot and then very cold... Could not get a consistently warm shower. Otherwise it appeared pretty clean and across from a nice park for the kids. read more

Good timing gave us the opportunity to stay in a 4 bed cabin even though there were only two of us. There wasn't a lot of room to put stuff, but it easily accommodated the food and bags we needed for our overnight stay. Nice bathrooms in the cabin. Close to everything for easy exploration on foot. We wanted to do a quick weekend getaway from Billings, MT with the family and were pleasantly surprised by how nice these cabins were. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin and although it was small (rustic charm), the beds were great and rooms were updated and clean. Worked great for 4 adults and 2 kids but we did not spend much time in the rooms. The A/C worked well but was a little loud when it turned on and off during the night. The outdoor pool (shared with Holiday Inn) was clean and there were plenty of towels. In fact, since we could not check in early we were able to use the pool until our check in time at 3 so the kids loved it. Breakfast was not included but the kids ate free at the Holiday Inn restaurant. We spent 2 days at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum and will come back to use the cabin as our launch point for Yellowstone Park next time. The gift shop folks were helpful in getting us tickets to the rodeo too. We parked right in front of our cabin but I think most cabins were taken up by a tour bus group so that may have been why there was so much parking. read more
