Great place with a very nice manager! The room was cute with a cowboy motif. It was clean and very comfortable. The bed was firm but not too firm. Lots of clean towels! We ask about breakfast and he recommended a local place that did not disappoint. The parking lot is gravel instead paved which I imagine works better in the winter since they get a lot of snow. We would stay again and recommend it highly.

When traveling I always try to stay in "mom and pop" style roadside motels. This was the best of the best. Cute setting, friendly staff, clean rooms. The pool was an added bonus. Would 10/10 recommend Big Bear Motel/

main area and pool of the motel.

A group of five of us travelled over 1300 miles to hike and needed a place to stay afterward. We stumbled upon this motel and it was truly a great place to stay! The owner was very kind and generously upgraded our room to best accommodate our group. The rooms were clean, the water pressure was fabulous, and there was even a nice pool area to relax in. It's not far from downtown or even the worlds largest rodeo. Definitely recommend stopping here!

My grandparents built this hotel originally so I was kind of excited to go back and stay. I have to say upon arrival not much, is changed. They did add a second floor to one side of the hotel. The pool wasn't filled. It looked like it was ready to get some work done or needed work done. I was greeted very friendly by one of the owners who treated me very well. I was provided with the room that was pet friendly, which I think what they mean is pet friendly as it has no carpeting. The room itself is rustic not bad. It has a lot of amenities to it, such as a microwave and a mini refrigerator, a television, a little place to sit at a table and chairs. The king size bed, however, has seen better days I think if they maybe put a little bit of money into some updated mattresses and bedding, it would be better. The air conditioning unit didn't function very well. It didn't get cold as fast as it really should have and at times the television didn't work it would freeze and not do anything and I think that's because they're using an aerial for all the rooms to save money. The price is good I don't think they should be charging $25 per night for pets in a room that doesn't even have carpeting. There's no damage that could be done by pets. The pet area to take you out for potty it's fairly nice. They have lots of areas of plastic bags for you to grab and use if needed. I think all in all for the price you pay it's a good little place to stay. People were friendly it's rustic, but I think that's what tourists are looking for when I go there. Enjoy your stay.

Had to rig something to actually feel some air!

very old and outdated.. DO NOT recommended for more than 2 people (stayed here with my little family 5 all kids) our AC was not cold at all! (Had a loooong night of being sweaty) would've been nice to got a room that they advertise online instead of the one they gave us smh! Ps. Bring your own fan

My favorite cabin motel has been turned into a boring chain hotel so I was cranky. I growled as I rode up and down Yellowstone Avenue looking for a place that suited my mood; then, I found it: Big Bear Motel. Perfect. It has a bit of the old west atmosphere on the outside. On the inside, my room was so fantastically clean that it appeared as if it was built that morning. The bed was great, too, and the premises quiet at night so I'll return next time I'm in Cody.

What a nice clean motel. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and large. Reasonable price.

The Old Faithful room used to be the garage so it had it's own little driveway and patio..........it was just perfect and it was a bit more private than the other rooms. Although we had our own little patio we chose to use the bigger and more public patio in the back of the house. It was overrun with flowers and birds.....our stay was just a little noisy with all the birds, but it was amazing. Robin and Bob were both very welcoming and filled with knowledge (that they shared) about the area. The stay included 3 dogs that were very friendly and fun to be around. The breakfasts were great! One morning we had eggs, they were steamed and perfect. We also had sausage patties, homemade gingerbread muffins, fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee. Everything was very well presented and served. We were offered a couple of muffins for the road. On the morning that we had to leave early to go horseback riding Robin made us breakfast burritos for the road. They were very good. This is probably the best place to stay while in Cody. The price was right, the location was great and it was very clean and comfortable.

We actually stayed up late talking to the owner about life. It was one of those nights that you'll remember forever. :) The rooms are extremely clean, the house is SO quaint. The garden is spectacular. And, maybe the best part? They have 3 amazing dogs who were my besties for the weekend: Sophie, Ginger and Coco. I was in LOVE with them. Honestly? If you're going to Yellowstone, why would you stay at a hotel? The Robin;s Nest is the same rate or cheaper, and you get an incredible breakfast in the morning. Speaking of breakfast.... I'm still trying to figure out what was in those pancakes because I was in pancake heaven. We will definitely be back here!

There is a ton of hotels here in Cody to choose from, many franchise type, but this one has a style and charm all its own. We had a clean room, VERY comfortable queen beds, unique homemade furniture that is very beautiful and sturdy. We were greeted with a smile at check in, staff seemed genuinely happy unlike other hotels We have encountered. This place seemed brand new or newly renovated and we LOVED it!! The lobby is warm and inviting, and several of us traveling together on a photography trip have actually spent time sitting on the couches, drinking coffee and visiting because it is such a pleasant space. My room is large and clean, and the bed is very comfortable. Based on the property itself, I would have had many good things to say about our stay. Unfortunately, we returned from a full day in Yellowstone yesterday to find the door to my room standing wide open. My room is in the section of the hotel where the doors open directly to the outside, so my room had potentially been accessible to anyone passing by for hours. Housekeeping had entered the room while we were gone. The room had not been cleaned, but clean blankets had been left on the bed, and apparently the door was never properly secured afterward. I understand that mistakes happen. Someone could have been distracted or simply failed to make sure the door latched. What concerned me even more, however, was the response when our group leader and I reported it to the front desk. Rather than showing concern that a guest's room had been left unsecured, the gentleman at the desk seemed to dismiss the situation. He suggested that housekeeping probably pulled the door closed, it didn't latch, and the wind blew it open. He then assured us that there isn't really crime here and essentially said that if anything had actually been stolen, we could call the police. As a photographer, I travel with thousands of dollars' worth of camera equipment. Thankfully, I had most of it with me that day, but that easily could have been a very different situation. More importantly, regardless of whether anything was stolen, a hotel room contains a guest's personal belongings and should never be left unsecured and open to the outside. The open door was a serious mistake, but mistakes can happen. What ultimately changed my opinion of this hotel was the lack of concern when I reported it. An apology, an acknowledgment of the seriousness of the situation, and reassurance that it would be addressed with housekeeping would have gone a long way. It's unfortunate because I genuinely like this hotel and there is a great deal about it that I would otherwise recommend. But after having my room left wide open and then having the concern dismissed because nothing happened to be stolen, I would not feel comfortable staying here again.
